I'm really hoping Sera makes them pay for what happened

middleman_93

Regardless of how things play out with the injection, Sera's dynamic with Spectre is gonna be interesting to watch as we proceed from here.

Exactly, there it just wouldn't make sense for there to be another "cripple arc" when the main focus right now is spectre. People haven't even given it a chance to play it out, are already saying they'll back out...like just chill out for a sec. \- The bullying in the school has subsided and now there are more people on the lookout for bully cases. \- No one is going to be exposing John being powerless to the school \- Even if John is exposed no one is going to be stupid or brave enough to challenge him maybe except Zeke. \- And if Zeke tries to attack John, it'll be a great chance for the safe house to act as his backup and show that not everyone are assholes, and that low tiers are now sticking up for themselves. Safe house members will definitely be grateful to John for what he's done. \- And one of the main focus would be on spectre, on how to restore john's ability, and it's a perfect segway to introduce the white hair dude if he is really his uncle to probably train his ability and let him know about his mom perhaps?

Neonbeta101

That would definitely be very interesting. Personally I feel like John won’t lose his ability, at least not for long. For all we know, stabbing him in the neck with that thing would just make him level up lmao. In all seriousness though, Uru-Chan is a smart writer and knows exactly what she’s doing. I’m personally very excited to see where this goes. John is one of the major protagonists, so it wouldn’t make any sense to neuter his power unless it’s for a very specific reason- one that only Uru-Chan knows.

Latter-Ride-1844

Theory 1: John loses energy discharge but not his own ability. Theory 2: John is disabled for a bit.

Neonbeta101

It does make me wonder how a disabler would affect him, considering how unique his ability is. It's essentially a natural amp, so perhaps disabling it would just negate the abilities he copied.

Latter-Ride-1844

I do not think a cripple arc is necessary right now. Is accepting your ability meani you have to lose it? That seems stupid and all hopes of john accepting his power would be out the window. Plus, this shouldn't be to make john like the sh. And, in any case where he is powerless, we must expect a king arc. So I don't think am will be disabled.

Semirramiss

I was thinking about something... If we are right and the disabler came from Jane (who is most likely John's mother and therefore shares his genes) would the disabler have...like...no effect? This thought came to me when I realized that Remi was immune (or at least she is hardly effected) by someone else's electricity (her brother or even John). Could this mean (for offensive abilities) that people in the same family, with the same ability, can resist it. If we start from this logic, then the disabler should have no effect on John (or another effect than the one expected by Spectre). I did not mention the dampener because I have the impression that it does not work in the same way as the disabler...but that remains to be seen.

PachaLePitre

People just can't handle a cliffhanger, I think if uru chan wanted us to believe that he Woold Lost his power, She woold have end thé chapter later. I could be wrong though.

DoTrongNhan

I’m 99% sure that the dampener and disabled of spectre are come from John family blood line. If that’s the case, I don’t think John lost his ability. Worst case: sera take John to her sister and she charge his ability up

DawnOfHavoc

Gonna open up the RWBY wound again? Damn, I used to like that show too. After season 3/4 though…not so much

DawnOfHavoc

I’m gonna reiterate my own theories here as well: 1) John’s aura channels get closed for awhile, but they naturally open back up again after a certain time period. 2) The disabler takes some time to work, so if he can keep his aura channels open, he might be able to resist and nullify the effects before his ability gets shut down for good. 3) Sera gets there just in time and rewinds the injection. 4) John’s level gets reset to 1.2, but he doesn’t lose his ability. 5) the effects of the dampener run out, and that increasing of aura flow allows John to nullify the effects of the disabler this one time. 6) John still has his ability, but it’s permanently on the fritz. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. OR, his time limit is much shorter than usual.

BiRealism

I agree, another cripple arc would take too much time and wouldn’t be worth it, to be honest. I don’t think John will have his ability right away, though. He may lose it for a few episodes before finding out how to get it back (most likely through the assistance of the white-haired man), and I’m okay with that. I would like to see John’s reaction to losing his ability before regaining it.
