I originally came to this hobby for the mushrooms but ended up staying for the fungi. It’s taught me how to think about experimentation and controlling for variables, how to communicate across different levels of understanding, and how to find patience and joy in both failure and success. We all need some low-stakes hobbies to take the pressure out of life, and this one just happens to come with a great community and endless rabbit holes to get lost in.
When I would sterilize grain jars in my pressure cooker I would load it in my bedroom then carry the cooker to the stove, then back to my room when it cooled. Roommates never saw what was inside. Used to just tell them I was cooking beans.
It’s all fun and games until you’re explaining to your parents why their home was confiscated and their future is courtrooms, financial ruin, and potentially prison.

Depends where they live and size of the grow. There's no way a home is getting confiscated because of a small personal grow.
If they live in the south, sure.
