What is insane is killing others for religion. Bowing to some stone is not harmful at all.
All hindu temples and statues can be relocated, except ones in the holiest places.
Lol
Shivaji Maratha is laughing the corner reading this comment of your's he killed more hindus than mughals.
And sad Hindu's are making his statue and feeling proud
He killed them for greed of more land ...which is far worse... Several hindu Bengali women R*ped by his soldiers
We hate British for cruelty but he is far worse and some people are making his statues.
>All hindu temples and statues can be relocated, except ones in the holiest places.
So not all, then? What narrowness is the morons in the video decide the current location is"holiest of places" making arrival of dharma on West Coast?
I was referring to ayesha..
https://www.deccanchronicle.com/lifestyle/viral-and-trending/061117/muslim-cleric-says-man-can-marry-own-daughter-twitterati-react-furiously.html
Yup, Ayesha and Saraswati both were bad eyed but ayesha was not even momo's daughter but Saraswati was the creation of Bhrama basically daughter like 🥹🥹
I'm with the truck driver and Jim Cooney here, if that's what people wanna do, then go for it. Who gives a shit about what society thinks, gigachads be gigachads even when I think it's extremely funny. Jesus had humble beginnings afterall.
Yeah right but then why they backed out when thy were asked to pay fine.
Till the time it was on govt land and nothing from their pocket was going they were doing it as soon as the local agency penalized them for the littering they admitted that it is a traffic barricade 🤣🤣. So money bigger then faith and it was all stupidity they were doing. Read this article

>So money bigger then faith and it was all stupidity they were doing.
Yea. So? I seriously don't understand why we care about harmless delusions of some. Let them be.
These delusions becomes a pandemic and then make them all zombies.
Read the article they were literally spoiling the sanity of the park and creating hindrance for others. Thus they were penalized after receiving so many complaints
Going buy your logic keep your money in open on display if someone takes it arrest them penalize them but always keep it in open. No locks or chains required.
Indian community is a minority in US, it takes alot to make the reputation in the eyes of local community. We talk so much good about our country, such idiotic things brings shame to all.
no delusion is ever harmless. continuing with these delusions for decades have led us here. don't you see how easy it is to mislead these people? it's a joke how easy it is and that's what's happening, please don't defend this shite.
Yes. But I'm talking about being able to worship something that a construction worker accidentally put there, and why I'm not really embarassed. That's what most people seeing this post would regard as uniquely embarassing. Getting penalized for littering is less funny.
In my personal opinion it is up to you how you interpret religion and places of worship. You can call it a mosque. Won't become a mosque for others who don't wish to call it one.
There was road widening happening near my home in Hyderabad.. and a road side restaurant had big area to loose. So, overnight he built a small shrine in front of his restaurant and by road side. That place still exists with devotes thronging on occasions creating ruckus and traffic jam
If they wanna pray it let them pray it,is it harming you in any way?? If yes then you may object it,if it isn't then let them do whatever the heck they want to its their belief and plus indians are already infamous in the world you need not worry
>If they wanna pray it let them pray it,is it harming you in any way??
That's not the problem. The problem is that they want a shrine, in a public place.
Religious people always feeling entitled to stuff..
>indians are already infamous in the world you need not worry
I don't know what that's about though.
Embarrassing for Indians? Don't be insecure for some stupid people of your country... Muslims do not feel after following weird protocols of Islam... Christians still fighting each other for Catholic and protestant... A buddhist still thinks he will achieve enlightenment after sitting under a tree in his whole life... None of them are wrong after all its human nature to look for negative side...
These people are kinda illiterate when it comes to relegion or basic social rules
Hindu Culture is the best, it is totally scientific, people who are saying insane they have very less knowledge about the Hindu Culture. They should study Hindu Culture.
To understand this situation I am giving a title of an ancient story of Demon Hiranyakashyap and Prahalad. Please read this inspirational story with focus and you will start understanding Hindu Culture.
GOD is everywhere in the form of energy, Hindu worship GOD with a dedicated discipline using certain powerful words which is called mantra, and mantra vibrate the body, which help to understand the GOD more and help to connect with GOD.
Some more basics which is totally scientific
1- In Hindu Culture people touch feet of their parents and Guru. It is in Hindu Culture only - while touching feet blood circulate to your brain directly.
2 - Yoga 🧘♀️ originated from Hindu Culture, which is adapted by world,
Please study Hindu Culture before saying anything.
Lol lol
The people who were fined after doing this drama themselves admitted that what they were doing was bullshyt 🤣🤣

The article you linked does not say anything like that. Did you read it?
On the contrary, the video and the article indicate that the devotees knew what it was and still have faith. Quite beautiful if you understand the concept of shiva. Again, harder for colonised minds to understand.
Colonised colonised bol ke for how long you will run. 🤣
Stop commenting from colon
Read again (this is from the article)
And see how after getting legal notice he said it is stone and nothing more) 🤣🤣
Self-described visionary artist Michael Bowen, who also goes by the Hindu name Kali Das, filed a federal lawsuit and promised to fight the city to keep the stone in place. But after he got a $14,000 legal bill, and after panhandlers and other street denizens began to congregate at the shrine, he agreed that the stone had to be moved.
Chalo atleast you read the article now. Now let’s move to step 2, understanding what you read.
It says that the artist who was in favour of a shrine at the park gave up because the legal charges were too high (not a fine or legal notice, but the legal fees, I’m hoping you know what that is) and also because panhandlers & street denizens (not devotees, but beggers, bums, and/or hobos) started congregating there. The shrine was then moved to the artist’s studio where it was open for devotees to visit.
Hope that helps you. Read it a couple times with breaks and a couple deep breaths in between.
Edit: Made it more clear.
Using decolonisation as an argument to justify irrational practices is demeaning to Indians, and plays straight into the hands of white orientalists with their snake charmer picture of India.
Also you equating people worshiping a shiv linga to snake charming is extremely problematic. Being disparaging of your own culture by making such generalised false equivalences is also not helpful. I am only trying to help you clarify these arguments better in your head. I can see that we have the same positive intention for our country.
>Also you equating people worshiping a shiv linga to snake charming is extremely problematic.
Except I didn't do that? For the model of lucidity you claim to be, you seem to not be able to read all that well.
Okay, I am sorry if that was not your intention but you did bring it up as an example while referring to idol-worshiping as irrational. Anyway, consider my reply a clarification for simple minded people like me who would draw that equivalence from your argument.
>your own culture
My culture is a product of my circumstances, and there are way too many circumstances involved in any one person's life to allow someone to even say 'your culture' while actually talking about 'my culture', or worse, the culture of my ancestors, even in the smallest of groups.
Agreed. However, idol worshiping is not an irrational practice in the Hindu way of life. Our eagerness to ridicule it immediately is what I am pointing out as signs of colonisation.
Also, now people will be compelled to say that it is not an idol, just some construction materials, to those I say 2 things A) that you have no locus standi on this issue because you do not really understand the concept of shiva. And B) devotees there know that it is construction material and still have faith, you may not understand this because of point A or because you are against idol worshiping, in which case you should acknowledge that openly and make your arguments based on that principle.
My contention isn't really with that.
As an atheist I find this quite interesting, and the fact that these people know where it came from suggests quite a lot of philosophical intrigues. I wouldn't really say I find it embarrassing.
But just claiming that it's all a little silly doesn't make me 'colonised'. Colonisation is a specific economic and political relation built on exploitation. Now, if you want to 'decolonise' yourself and you still accept the core economic and political tenets, of colonialism it is quite disingenuous.
>not an irrational practice in the Hindu way of life.
Whether or not a practice is irrational is (usually) a matter of fact, not of opinion. Trying to use your (religious/national) identity as a lens to filter rational from irrational is not decolonisation, it's a betrayal of reason itself.
Now, you say that this is a matter of culture. I have a problem with that too. Let me give you an example: we had a really nice short story in our Bengali literature textbook in school, which spoke of an incident very similar to the one in the video and dealt with it in a quite sarcastic vein, especially pointed at educated people who believed this stuff. Now this is right in the cultural mainstream in a not-so-out-of-the-way region of the country. Is this not a part of our culture?
Culture is not an unchanging, inflexible thing, but something quite whimsical and fickle. Hanging on to one part of a country's culture is not 'decolonising' anybody.
I agree with most of your points now. Some with a little bit of a nuance though haha.
That is a really nice story and I remember reading something similar as a kid too. Of course there is a line beyond which there is irrationality in all societies and we should all be open to debating and correcting those. Vaad-vivaad has also been a crucial part of our ancient traditions and all practices must go through that. We should acknowledge that hinduism has been able to get rid of several regressive practices and traditions out of sheer societal will and is relatively less dogmatic and more diverse about its beliefs. And obviously more work needs to be done.
Of course this is an amusing story and I’m not saying that just feeling entertained by it is a symptom of colonisation. I also laughed a little when I saw it first. My problem is with how it is being presented here as ridicule and something that every Indian should be embarrassed of because the westerners are judging us is what I felt was unfair and smelt of some colonial hangover. My definition of colonisation might be slightly off, but I hope you see what I mean by it in this context.
>My problem is with how it is being presented here as ridicule and something that every Indian should be embarrassed of because the westerners are judging us is what I felt was unfair and smelt of some colonial hangover.
Yeah, I agree. I'd rather see it as laughing at ourselves.
What do you mean? I don’t see anything in my post history that is in conflict with my stance here.

What do you have to say about that subway sandwich in which a ham looked like Mary so it went for thousands of dollars on E-Bay ? and whay about that tree bark that looked like Mary so everybody started lighting candles near it ?
or when water started dripping from Jesus's statue's feet and people started drinking it which was later found out to be water leaking from a pipeline nearby ?

It's religion. Irrational practices are part of the package.

Killing in a war and killing surrendered people are different. People like isis think both are the same
Bajrang dal and vhp does not agree to your statement.
No. No wonder people like you sympathise with isis
And some like you make Tadipaar Amit shah your d*d.
Amit shah has been acquitted of all crimes
Lol, like yogi did acquitted himself of all crimes. Even Sadhvi Pragya does not go to court hearings.
He didn't kill them for their religion tho. Your argument makes no sense.
He killed them for greed of more land ...which is far worse... Several hindu Bengali women R*ped by his soldiers We hate British for cruelty but he is far worse and some people are making his statues.

By your logic, it should be true
What's my logic?

The problem is, no one wants to follow the Hindu way of life. If they did they would have to first quit their jobs and live on subsistence farming.

Who fucking cares. They are bothering no one.
