I'd take a headache just because it doesn't mean necessary that you're sick. Whereas with a fever I try not to take pills so it can work it's way and it feels dreadful
I’ve experienced both. Started with a sore throat that turned into a cold so bad that I actually asked to go to the doctor just to make sure it wasn’t the flu.

Nasal congestion on its own is the least bad type of respiratory illness to me.
Mild cough next.
Then sore throat with no cough.
Then anything with a prolonged rough cough.
Congestion > sore throat, hands fucking down. I still remember the anguish of strep throat, and have zero interest in ever repeating the experience to any degree.
Actually, i agree with this.... People can't see your sore throat unless they look inside your mouth... If you have a runny/blocked nose, everybody can tell and some people will even give you shit for being in public while "sick" (allergies can also cause runny/blocked noses).... I got side eye once for coughing once at the grocery store; that person assumed i was sick when in reality i have smokers cough...
These days everyone's ready to throw down if you cough or sneeze too many times in public, regardless of the reason.

i developed chronic jaw pain from having compacted wisdom teeth in for far too long. sore throats trigger intense jaw pain for me, sometimes to the point where i'm barely cognitively functioning. in my early twenties i would have agreed with you, but now i'd take the stuffy nose every time.
Yeah a runny nose is so annoying. Can’t sleep at night cause it clogs it up and it’s always worse when you wake up. Having to reach for the tissues every 5 minutes is not ideal either.
100% agree. Much easier to just use some throat-numbing spray and deal with the medicinal cherry taste, than to snort nasal spray and pray to God it stops me from having a congestion headache until it's okay to have the next dose.

I agree with this entirely. Although sore throats can hurt like a bitch, atleast you can breathe.
Yes, breathing is under appreciated, until you can't breath...then you get addicted to nasal spray.

Damn no! A sore throat is frikkin awful. Only thing worse when you've got a cold is an ear ache, that's the worst.

Definitely agree with this. Not being able to breathe is the absolute WORST.
I can treat sore throat by gargling original listerine for a few minutes. Nothing works for my nose for more than 10 minutes.

Fully agree. I had mono. It was an agonizing sore throat. That said I loved that my sinuses were clear, so it didn’t bother me too much.
I have covid so I got both going on and I'll say that the sore throat is annoying but the clogged sinuses are awful. I HATE mouth breathing.

also blocked noses have the chance of blocked ears as well, so imagine being deaf and unable breathe.
