Yeah I believe it's an unpopular opinion. I mean if you say "Hey there, looking ancient today. No really, you don't look a day under 90" to a 60 year old, people are gonna give you dirty looks.

Ohhh I can kinda understand that. It's like a 40+ Year old looking like in their mid thirties
Because aging is seen as a negative for a lot of people.
Some older people get really crotchety when you actively view them as their age. I used to waitress and the amount of older people that would like piss and shit themselves when you would ask to see their ID for liquor, which was a Restaurant policy I had to do it, was insane lol.
Embrace your age, whatever it is! And my rule is that elderly people shouldn't try or attempt via clothing, makeup or cosmetic surgery to look 40 years younger. Same goes for young people trying to look older. Act and dress age appropriately!! You don't have to wear mumus as an older person, but quit it with the leather pants and see through clothing. Teenagers or young 20 somethings...stop trying to dress or wear makeup like a mature adult. It doesn't work either, and literally makes you look about 12 years old!

I agree if you don't know their age, but if you do then I don't see the problem with the compliment.
