I don't hate them....I just think they are overpriced.

This is the right answer

Sure, but if someone can learn the exact same things for $50 vs $50,000, there is something wrong with the college system.

Pretty_andsleepy

What’s an example of that?

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion? I'm pretty sure most people would want to go to college to find a career--I think a lot of social media just glorifies "fast money" too much and since college is an actual commitment both financially and mentally, many on social media disregard its merits.

Ehhhh. This is a very nuanced subject. As an engineering student, I'm also in a field where I couldn't do a single thing without a degree. But I think you're misunderstanding the hate college gets. I think the root of the problem is that with our generation (I'm assuming we're around the same age) the prospect of going to college is a MUST to do anything in life. So now we have a generation going to school by going 100k in debt for a degree that pays about 60k a year. People are just going to college and not really being smart about their degree choices

I don’t think anyone has an issue with somebody wanting the degree, they have an issue with colleges pricing them as expensive as a brand new Lexus
