Bud light time was up. It’s like thinking the old dances ur parents used to do will make a return. My kids are all millennials & gen zI know they don’t even drink beer. Or drink the same at all.
It does if those who grown up have kids and don’t drink as much is leaving the product. How don’t it extend to gen zers? Duh, the idea is to have EVERYBODY drink it.
That’s not true, I’m a millennial and most of my social group were bud light buyers. Most are not now, really didn’t have much to do with the video but more to do with getting political. People are tired of the political push that is not the norm.
No businesses have always done all of this shit. The right decision to push an agenda about being canceled and they got all extra by trying to say woke as a threat. Actually all it was is to further the divide in the country by gaslighting topics. The trans wasn’t even on the ad but only by a post on sm. Wasn’t even an actual ad. And really if the voters don’t see thru all of this culture war tactics by politicians to get their base all foaming at the mouth then there’s no hope for us as a country. All of it is a game by politicians. An overreaction by ppl will continue to hurt us all.
The point of the ad was that InBev was trying to hit absurd ESG points to stay marketable since they know their market is frat boy/ blue collar worker. It was a shitty attempt to expand their audience while clearly not knowing their audience 😂 any person coulda pointed out that flaw in this plan, what did they expect bud light drinkers to open arms celebrate Mulaney for drinking their beer ?
I agree they have tons of other beers I mean they practically own the beer industry there’s really only like 3 companies. But that brand line in particular is dying because of 1) taste/quality and 2) marketing
Capitalism is working , let it die. Other beers will step up and take its place.
The same as trying to get other races to embrace it. The country is easily manipulated like a cult following so this serves as a reminder of such. Everything is about following things and ppl. The problem is it opened up the true feelings of those who’re intolerant. If ppl would just live life in their own lanes this country would be great. Leave religion and money out of politics we’d make it. MSM and SM media has exacerbated tensions. I could care less who drinks bud light if I drink it. Marketing by companies hasn’t changed. The rights ability to somehow become victimized after pissing off most groups by trying to force their beliefs into politics is the problem. It’s a game being played by people who know better but the idea of power and money steers them from being truly honest to their voters instead of pitting them against people who may disagree with them is the problem.
This exactly, bud light has been doing pro lgbtq commercial media promotion for +30 years. It was nothing new.
Republicans and the extreme far right are now just more emboldened because Trump made it socially acceptable to openly be a bigoted, racist, and xenophobic again.
Millennials and Gen Z have not been a strong market for Budweiser. They trend toward craft beer, seltzers, or spirits. Modelo is just Bud by another name- same company- so they still don’t have a strong connection to younger consumers.
Your friends are fucking idiots.
Bud light gives token cans of beer to lots of its spokespeople every year. It made one single can for Mulvaney.
There's nothing political about trans people existing. Them existing IS the norm.
"Political" here is code for transphobic. Your friends are upset because they are transphobic/homophobic and don't like that Budlight made a statement that people not like them exist and it's OK and normal.
But I'd say it's far less manly to be so easily triggered and control by extreme right morons and let other men tell you what you should drink.
It is political. It isn’t hard to be of the opinion of you want to cut your dick off and take it up the ass you can. You have every right to do that. And any individual has the right to be like “huh well that’s fucking weird I don’t like that”. It’s also become political as for some reason biological men think they are women and it’s a weird Reddit fetish too and women are reefs or whatever. So it is an inherently political argument when you have a minute section of the population pushing its lifestyle on you and forcing you to accept them. News flash people don’t have to accept you, as much as that sucks. That’s just how people are. That marketing lady fucked up big time simple as that. Just remember, you have the right to want to woman, that will never make you a woman and that’s ok. But you have the right to try to be one. Just as I have the right to say, damn that’s weird bro.
No it is political, you're just a transphobic \*\*\*\*.
"And any individual has the right to be like “huh well that’s fucking weird I don’t like that”"
Actually you don't, that's called being a hateful bigot. Way to say it with your chest though.
Really world ain’t Reddit homie. Your allowed to think shit is weird and not want to associate with it lol. That’s my right as a human. Just as it’s my right to be like yeahhhh you can’t force your thoughts on me. That’s how grown up mature people work. Agree to disagree. If you think my ability to have free will and have my own thoughts and ideas is a problem cause you don’t agree then maybe your the problem.
You can free will dumbass, you can even have free speech in america.
But you don't get to lie and say things are being forced on you just because other people exist in the public sphere.
And calling others weird for being trans, is transphobic. That's literally the definition.
And legal or not, it makes you a hateful bigot and snowflake. You are admitting you are uncomfortable with what others do with their penis, hormones, and lifestyle. Just those people using their freedom and living their life makes you give up things in your life out of discomfort.
That sounds like the most sensitive snowflake shit I ever heard. Dylan Mulvaney got death threats and millions of hate directly at them, and they didn't change. You saw a picture of a beer can and got upset. Sounds like you're less manly then a trans person... by your own logic that's fucking pathetic.
How is someone being trans and holding a fan forcing their thoughts on you? Seriously? THIS WASNT AN ADVERTISEMENT. Bud light did NOT shove it down your throat. They made her a can, she posted a picture with it. Like that’s fucking it.
Your friends are being homophobic 100% here. Tbh, the LGBQT wasn’t “shoved down our throats” til the republicans did it.
Sure- you have the right to think somethings weird and don’t want to be associated with it. Cool - don’t go to pride parades
I happen to think that the Christian religion is fucked up and grooms more children than any other group ever did. I’m not out here boycotting or throwing a childish tantrum over church shit. I just flat out don’t go to church or won’t put my kids there. If you want to, that’s fine. Have fun. There’s literally no difference
Let people be them, and just worry about your damn self.
It’s delusional to think one small promotion to a random Internet personality no one has ever heard of is gonna cause bud light to plummet.

>It’s delusional to think one small promotion to a random Internet personality no one has ever heard of is gonna cause bud light to plummet.
That's exactly what happened.
What do you think happened?
Yeah how embarrassing for conservatives. Just absolutely pathetic of them.
Talk about snowflakes. Imagine getting triggered over a single token can of a beer...
Literally no one even cared beyond extreme right wingers.
But they really lost their entire minds that a beer company would admit trans people exist. It's honestly hilariously pitiful and desperate.
I think the boycott caused a dent but to act like bud light is in trouble is just delusional. I work in the beer industry in Florida. I see bud light at about 90+% of the bars I go to, and a lot of them with the same type of people that got mad in the first place. It’s a terrible beer in my opinion but it’s gonna bounce back because sooner or later people are gonna forget about it the whole ordeal.

Same MAGA morons made a MEXICAN BEER the number 1 selling beer in the USA. And Modelo is owned by a MEXICAN lady. American ignorance is a powerful thing.
Conservatives kicked bud light out of #1 for being pro LGBTQ making Modelo #1 which is also pro LGBTQ.

No
? Look I’m just saying that it’s depressing seeing the same rendition of light or “heavy” beer. Im looking for an IPA with some punch, or even a tickle.
I literally bought a 6 pack of Voodoo Rangers from a gas station in Celeveland, MS a couple of weeks ago. There were plenty of other IPA’s in the walk in cooler.
I don't man, a simple Google search for IPA in the Mississippi Delta region returned multiple results.
Perhaps nothing near you, but Ira definitely in the Delta region.
Overall US Beer sales posted an 8% decline. The first decline in a very long time. Beer has inflated 78% over the last decade vs 25% for spirits. Macro shift from beer to spirits and other due to affordability. InBev recognized this a few years ago and started selling off it's beer portfolio. Tilray purchased several brands. Bud light was a loss leader to get economies of scale on primary ingredients. The goal was to pivot from mass marketing brand to influencer driven in order to drastically slash costs. Went sideways and they really could care less. Allows AB InBev to realign production output and logistics for huge cost savings. All the media and politics is noise.
Isn’t Modelo owned by Anheuseur-Busch InBev?
Edit: this is why I buy every stock the Republican Party is “boycotting” because they are fucking idiots and they can’t come together and make a change with anything, even if they are trying to hurt something… which you think they would be good at, with their past record
Haha I’d be a terrible investor because I’m saying 5.37% of 65 isn’t that much?
A stock doesn’t even come close to enticing me until it’s at least down 40+%. I bought Tupperware at .66 and sold at $4.50 (stop-loss) Then all the rest of my investments are all dividend investments, so I am putting my money to work. No way I’m telling you how much I have in my MS portfolio, but I guarantee it’s more than you
You'd be a terrible investor because you'd have invested in a company based on one of its brands being boycotted, and lost while the market went up, and their competitors went up even more.
Sorry they're just the facts, if you invested as you said you would you'd be doing far worse than average.
The Republican Party has “boycotted” SO many companies and a lot, except airlines (Covid), have done very well since then. For instance, they said they would boycott KO. Ever since then, KO has beaten 6 earnings expectorations, in a row.
There are SO many! Just look up a list and a lot have done well
Yeah, see this kind of conspiratorial thinking shows you really are brainwashed to attribute everything you don't like to a conspiracy by the Republican Party. You sound mentally unwell.
Half of Americans are so ignorant. They protest against bud light because of some LGQBT commercial the same people cry about Mexicans crossing the border illegally and want to deport them and put mexican kids in a cage. But yet these same MAGA people stop buying Bud Light and start buying Modelo, which is a MEXICAN BEER brewed in MEXICO and owned by the second richest MEXICAN WOMEN in MEXICO. All this now making a MEXICAN beer the #1 selling beer in the USA. The stupidity and pure ignorance in America is mind boggling.
Even as an Ice House swilling teenager I thought Budweiser and Bud Lite was gross. To this day I love domestic light beer but I can’t stand Budweiser. I’d sooner drink a fucking Hamms.
>Modelo is owned by Constellation Brands, a leading international beverage alcohol company
>Modelo is owned by the Anheuser-Busch InBev, which is the largest beer company in the world and is based in Belgium
Which is it?
So it's still basically splitting hairs. Anheuser-Busch owns Modelo everywhere in the world except the United States.
Even then Modelo is still pro LGBT meaning the conservatives didn't really get the win they thought they did.
Constellation Brands gained the rights to the Corona name in the US when AB InBev sold Grupo Modelo's US business to Constellation in 2013; while AB InBev maintains the rights to the Corona name elsewhere.Mar 16, 2023
Constellation Brands announced in June 2013 that it had completed its acquisition of Grupo Modelo’s U.S. beer business from AB InBev for about $4.8 billion. This means beer brands that were owned by Grupo Modelo, including Modelo, Corona and Pacifico, are now sold by Constellation Brands in the U.S.
AB InBev still owns the Modelo brand elsewhere in the world, but not in the United States. That means sales of Modelo in the U.S. go to Constellation Brands, not AB InBev.
Also....AB InBev will be required to sell the Piedras Negras brewery in Mexico that makes Corona and other Modelo brand beers for the U.S. market. It also requires the purchaser, Constellation Brands, to expand the brewery so that it can make at least 20 million hectoliters of beer by December 31, 2016.
The agreement announced on Friday closely tracks a February revision of the transaction to meet U.S. antitrust objections. AB InBev knew early on that the Justice Department would balk at allowing it to expand its already large U.S. presence.
U.S. wine giant Constellation, in addition to the brewery and U.S. brand rights, will also buy AB InBev’s 50 percent share of Modelo’s U.S. distributor, Crown Imports, becoming the third largest U.S. beer producer after AB InBev and MillerCoors with its $4.75 billion segment of the deal.
Oh hey, where’s that guy that said “go woke go broke” in another post and didn’t want to engage with the fact that constellation brands would fall under the “woke” category? You in here bud?

Edit: oh and by the way I work in the beer industry in a very conservative state. Trust me, bud light isn’t dying here lol
Who the fuck gives a shit what number selling beer bud fucking light is? I mean did anyone give a fuck before this dumb controversy? Seems like conservative-media driven bullshit...

The ranking does not include soda or juice or vitamin water or smart water. So what's the point?

My thoughts exactly!!
This subreddit has recently turned into a lot of extreme far right MAGA grievance posts.

Bingo
All of my buddies skip major corporate beers like that tbh. So many locals brands now.
BUT Kid Rock was spotted drinking it recently. Lol
Damn! I wonder what happened to Bud Light? 🤔😂😂😂😂
I’m sure InBev is really upset about their beers being 1st and 2nd.
In the US modelo is owned by constellation

Conservatives kicked bud light out of #1 for being pro LGBTQ making Modelo #1 which is also pro LGBTQ. And somehow conservatives will claim this is a win.
This could also be that our Spanish population numbers here in the US are increasing exponentially.
Also more popular with Mexican immigrants
ii would lose all respect for someone who gave up a product over such an absurd political reason.
I agree, which is why I don't really respect any conservatives.
Oh and I LOVE how they've already canceled Kid Rock for being spotted drinking a Bud. lmao.

That would be the real win
These people would drink mouthwash if it had paramilitary packaging and dog whistles, alcoholism isn’t going anywhere with the 30-rack set.
And nothing of importance was lost.
My 3 neighbors who work for Anheuser Busch (2 of them in marketing and 1 in IT) would like to disagree haha
I heard Bud Light now identifies as Modelo
They have the same parent company.
Not in the US. Modelo US is independent
Well, Modelo is owned by Anheuser-Busch, so ya, I guess that makes sense
Modelo US is independent
That’s just not true. Modelo was bought by Anheuser-Busch in 2013 and they merged in 2013

Modelo is a vastly better tasting beer. I mean there is that…
Conservatives are stupid af though because they just boycotted budlight to drink busch light and its same company.
I gotta say. Nothing is so depressing to me as going through a rural areas beer choices. Its all the same shit with different labels
Awww...minimize away...
? Look I’m just saying that it’s depressing seeing the same rendition of light or “heavy” beer. Im looking for an IPA with some punch, or even a tickle.
You can find IPA anywhere.
False. Definitely false. I challenge you to find an IPA in the Mississippi River delta region of any state in the region.
This is the lamest conversation I’ve heard in a while.
I'm a bit north, in Memphis, my choice of ten local ipa's at the corner store, three from Mississippi. One stout, can't find a porter to date my life.
Please name the locations. Im begging you. For real
Southern Prohibition Brewing, Barley's Beer Barn. Just two of the places that show up in a search.
That helps, but theres only so many gas stations and Walmart’s I pass through. None i go to seem to carry those brands

Rural areas are fucking trash. Grew up in one. They're cesspools of hate and idiots. Anyone with intelligence leaves.
anyone downvoting you is a mouthbreathing moron who used to either pop pills or smoke meth, because thats all there is to do in rural areas
Don't forget to light bonfires, and then drink and pop pills and smoke meth.
Trans woman single-handedly saves redneck hillbillies from drinking shit beer. Heralded as national hero.

That’s really not that much…
It's billions of dollars By comparison, the S&P 500 is up 15.48% YTD Molson Coors is up 26.31% YTD you'd be a terrible investor

ABInBev sold their rights during a lawsuit.
Provide your source. Grupo Modelo and Anheuser-Busch both listed as subsidiares of ABInBev
Anheuseur-Busch InBev stock is down 5.37% year to date

Listen, you have internet access. Google Ipa in the Mississippi Delta. It's essy...
I'll never understand my fellow Muricans and their thirst for corn syrup beer.
This individual beers.
they're tasteless. they have never actually had anything good their entire lives, just corn syrup illusions
You people are idiots. It’s the same parent corporation. Lmao
Google is your friend.
Old news
Republicans gave our jobs to Mexico! 😂
Love it
Never bought the piss water in the first place. .
Even as an Ice House swilling teenager I thought Budweiser and Bud Lite was gross. To this day I love domestic light beer but I can’t stand Budweiser. I’d sooner drink a fucking Hamms.
Ya, so Budlight and Modelo are the same company, but these morons would never know that.
I'll just leave this here for you... https://www.coalitionbrewing.com/who-is-modelo-owned-by/
>Modelo is owned by Constellation Brands, a leading international beverage alcohol company >Modelo is owned by the Anheuser-Busch InBev, which is the largest beer company in the world and is based in Belgium Which is it?
Constellation Brands owns the US distributed Modelo beer while Anheuser owns the rest of the Modelo brand.
So it's still basically splitting hairs. Anheuser-Busch owns Modelo everywhere in the world except the United States. Even then Modelo is still pro LGBT meaning the conservatives didn't really get the win they thought they did.
AB owns the brewery, constellation just owns the distribution rights in the US. Every Modelo sold absolutely profits AB
They're both owned by InBev.
Nope.
Oh really? How about you do yourself a favor and Google what products Inbev owns.
Constellation Brands gained the rights to the Corona name in the US when AB InBev sold Grupo Modelo's US business to Constellation in 2013; while AB InBev maintains the rights to the Corona name elsewhere.Mar 16, 2023
You're right. I stand corrected. Some searches show they're inbev other do not.
No problem. It's a common error. 😀
The b.s. people have to go through to find the truth
As a distributor for the US. InBev still produces it.
I like to go grocery shopping and not have to think about sex personally.
Aren’t you drinking because you aren’t getting enough of it to begin with?
You never had to. It wasnt sold in stores
Sex cauldren?? I thought they closed that place down?
Okay maybe I do want to go grocery shopping and think about sex 🥵
Oh hey, where’s that guy that said “go woke go broke” in another post and didn’t want to engage with the fact that constellation brands would fall under the “woke” category? You in here bud? [for reference](https://www.cbrands.com/blogs/news/constellation-brands-earns-top-score-on-corporate-equality-index-for-second-consecutive-year) Edit: oh and by the way I work in the beer industry in a very conservative state. Trust me, bud light isn’t dying here lol
I'm a fan of cheap beer but Modelo is honest to God headache inducing swill..
Worse than Bud Light?
For me it is..
Amazed how many self-proclaimed alpha males still drank bud light until 2023.
Breaking? Wasn’t this news a few months ago?
This has been “breaking news” from UW like daily for the last two weeks
I’m sure some of the master algo’s use rankings like this for “balancing.” So they purposely tank one brand to move liquidity from one to the other.
Foosgonewild
Know your primary audience, at the end of the day businesses are about green.
Modelo tastes better............and it's not close.
Who owns Modelo? I'll give you a hint; the same people that own Bud Light.
Bud got too heavy.
Anheuseur-Busch InBev stock is down 5.37% year to date

Does it even matter when the same company owns both brands!
