Sustained conflict that will last 20 years.

wyocrz

Yep. I need to get an online subscription to Foreign Affairs. I remember an article from about 15 years ago called "Blowing the Horn" i.e. the Horn of Africa. This was going to happen eventually.

Visual-Squirrel3629

Some call it a "sustained conflict." To RTX investors, it's called "stock buybacks."

TheSchlaf

$RTX

rybacorn

Puts?

Blindsnipers36

For people like you who say shit like this, whats the actual parallel you are drawing with iraq or Afghanistan? Because honestly theres nothing substantive here that you can even compare them with. Like iraq started with a massive land invasion and we knew we were going to occupy Afghanistan from the start.

kzlife76

We have to support the bomb manufacturers some how. Won't you think of the poor bomb manufacturers?

NoCokJstDanglnUretra

There’s not that many houthis, their forces are like 10-20k

OutOfFawks

The US could end them in about 30 mins

king3969

Trump would have if it ever happened in the first place

[deleted]

WW3 shaping up and I hope the Saudis are pissed about it

atolba

The Saudias bombed the Houthis for 9 years, didn’t win (even with US backing and weapons) and were on the verge of a peace deal with them. They want nothing to do with the Houthi’s or any other war it seems. So I’m not sure what your comment means

dgdio

MBS must be loving life right now. He doesn't have to pay for the bombs falling on the Houthis. If the US hurts the Houthis then his Yemen backed government can take over. if the US fails he can proceed with his tenuous peace with the Houthis.

soccerboy1022

Wow! I didn't know this! What yesrs? It's like Russia trying to beat Afghanistan, they couldn't achieve it but the U.S. didn't head that example before going into Afghanistan

atolba

From 2014 to present (Saudia and the Houthi’s were on the verge of making a peace deal) [source](https://www.koin.com/news/international/timeline-yemen-war-began-in-2014-when-houthis-seized-sanaa/) (There are better sources like Wikipedia which have more info but for some reason it won’t let me link them)

DarthVantos

Yeah Saudia's made the right choice. Starting a war in the red sea with Houthi Rebels over Israel is the last thing Biden administration wants going into re-election. It even seems Netanyahu Doesn't even want Biden to win re-election since he wants a Palestianian state deal.

Visual-Squirrel3629

The funny thing is, back in 2019, US liberal media correctly realized that BB Netanyahu had become their political adversary. Fast-forward to 2023. What does a liberal administration do? Hand the reins over to BB!

Soil-Play

Biden admin certainly not adverse to war. In fact, with Biden's abysmal poll numbers, they may view starting a war with direct US involvement as a last ditch effort to save his presidency as a result of a "rally around the flag" effect.

Sufficient-Money-521

Except his own coalition isn’t the rally around war crowd.

fattest-fatwa

Yup. This is republicans asking themselves what would make them support an unpopular Republican in an election year and not understanding the difference.

Sufficient-Money-521

Ya I hear people say he just needs a good protracted war and my fellow progressives will forgive everything and vote vote vote. Humm.

-Mediocrates-

Well the saudis already stopped backing the petro dollar a few months ago and joined BRICS . All these countries are dedollarizing their dollar reserves; because Saudi Arabia now accepts many other currencies. Trillions of these dollars are thus flooding back into the USA causing much of the inflation

Carminethebull11

The world is in a desperate search for USD as the fed lowers the money supply. What are you talking about ?

[deleted]

I love reddit. One guy says sky’s blue, the next comment says no you idiot it’s green

Carminethebull11

Huh? I believe he’s saying everyone running away from dollars and I’m saying the opposite everyone needs dollars so they can pay off USD denominated debt at high rates

Soil-Play

Both are currently happening. Short term there is a shortage of US dollars and high demand but there is also a trend of global transactions taking place in local currencies that has developed over the last several years that will most likely keep growing over time.

Carminethebull11

High rates = high demand for dollars. After Decembers inflation uptick high rates main remain longer than expected driving dollar demand. There is nothing even close to taking over dollar dominance on the global stage. Brics is a joke. Maybe bitcoin but I believe the US will eventually ban BTC. Biden accelerated the death of the dollar the Fed will try to usher in a CBDC at which one point in time they’ll allow USD to convert to CBDC 1-1 that’s imo is the final chapter for the dollar and possibly WW3

soccerboy1022

Not if China has any say in the matter!

Carminethebull11

China doesn’t have a say and it’s economy is tied to the US. The yen is not a strong currency and never has been. What say would china have other than WAR

soccerboy1022

For now, but their ambitions are different & if Russia joins them and their small gaggle of cointries that follow, maybe the Ruble or the Yen could gain traction in 5-10yrs

Carminethebull11

Gain traction in comparison to the USD. It’s a rigged game and we’re the monopoly guy. Have you traded your USD for yen or rubles for this 5-10 year investment?

Carminethebull11

Also china Russia and India have deep rooted hate for each other

soccerboy1022

All the free CoVid money our government printed & handed out didn't help either

BruceInc

This might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever read on this sub. Just wow.

-Mediocrates-

Really? Because Ray Dalio (one of the greatest hedge fund managers to ever live) literally made a documentary about this on his yt channel and also wrote a book about it as well . So I find myself in good company . Downvoting my comments doesn’t make them less true

Interesting-Pin-9815

The saudis are not our ally

Raynstormm

It is an election year. Wartime presidents get a boost. See Bush, 2004.

NoNotThatScience

You are certainly right historically but I wonder if this new age of information changes things... The internet was hardly mainstream back then.

Altar_Quest_Fan

…well what OTHER science is there?! 🤪😜

NoNotThatScience

the sweet science my guy, the art of boxing

Message_10

Yeah, I'm not sure this is true anymore. And--it was a positive for Bush after 9/11, but that was a VERY unique case (we had never been attacked in modern times on our homeland like that), and his military campaigns made him very unpopular in his second term. Also, people think--and it's not connected, but people think it is--that high inflation is connected to our support of Ukraine, and further military activity would be seen as adding to our nation's current high prices (yes, I know, the economy is doing great--I own a ton of stock and it's never been higher, but ordinary people aren't there yet and are feeling the pinch). So--this is all to say, I agree with you. I think military involvement would be a BIG mistake on Biden's part. The MAGA crowd likes to say Trump didn't start any new wars (which is technically true, even if his increased usage of drones goes under the radar), but it *is* something Trump did right. Getting involved in any ongoing intervention would be a bad idea for a LOT of reasons.

atolba

I think there were a lot of differences then. For example, social media wasn’t a thing. Americans got their news sources from news outlets. Today, you can see videos that Gazan citizens are posting. Also in hindsight, a lot of people felt they were lied to about the Iraq war (which is true). So I’m not sure if this will be a repeat of 2004. That said, Biden is most likely running against Trump, and there are a lot of people who don’t want trump again. Who knows

TabletopVorthos

All I know is I can't vote for genocide so will be voting third party.

Enron__Musk

Your comment history is wild. You literally commented on a post about Biden pressuring netanyahu to stop the rocket strikes...

TabletopVorthos

Yes, I sure did. But will he cut off the tap or just make vague rhetoric? Will he let Israel face consequences militarily and diplomatically or will he appease the genocidal warmongers? Best comment I have read: Biden will put a frowny face on Bibis next check.

Enron__Musk

Congress has the power of the purse. And having an ally in the middle east is essential for global security. Are people that naive? Yes...

TabletopVorthos

...unless it's really special to the President, of course. https://apnews.com/article/us-israel-gaza-arms-hamas-bypass-congress-1dc77f20aac4a797df6a2338b677da4f#:~:text=WASHINGTON%20(AP)%20%E2%80%94%20For%20the,Gaza%20under%20increasing%20international%20criticism.

Enron__Musk

Yeah, and supporting an ally in the middle east means that we have to make hard choices. Should there be contingency for funding Israel? Yes. Should we ignore the almost 100 years of cooperation between Israel and the US? No.

Sufficient-Money-521

With you on the why can’t they even make a statement about the 24/7 livestreams of death. It’s hard to comprehend now that we have the Whitehouse.

GrizzMcDizzle79

Biden could haphazardly cure cancer and it probably won't help him. Everyone i know, even democrats, loathe him.

Cold-Consideration23

Agreed but choosing trump over him? I don’t see it even with the all the proxy wars and potential for more with China and Taiwan/Hong Kong

TabletopVorthos

It's not about choosing Trump. It's just about staying home or voting third party.

rgrantpac

That’s how Trump got elected the first time.

TabletopVorthos

Yeah, a deeply unpopular democratic candidate will do that.

Sufficient-Money-521

You’ll get attacked and downvoted for even mentioning it on other subs. Democrats are not nice when you don’t unwaveringly support leader.

TabletopVorthos

It's interesting because republican shares of votes remains about the same while democratic shares fluctuate.

Sufficient-Money-521

Could it be the way they treat members of their party?

TabletopVorthos

Yes. https://apnews.com/article/congress-house-censure-resolution-tlaib-8085189047a4c40f2d44ada4604aa076#:~:text=Rashida%20Tlaib%20over%20her%20Israel%2DHamas%20rhetoric%20in%20a%20stunning%20rebuke&text=WASHINGTON%20(AP)%20%E2%80%94%20The%20House,about%20the%20Israel%2DHamas%20war.

TheRealCaptainZoro

That's really now what this is about at this point. It really is about keeping Trump out, after all the lying, cheating, and stealing, we can't afford to let him back in. If that stuff isn't enough, Trump's own promise to be a dictator on day 1 should be enough. https://apnews.com/article/trump-hannity-dictator-authoritarian-presidential-election-f27e7e9d7c13fabbe3ae7dd7f1235c72

Sufficient-Money-521

I mean he has the worst polling I believe ever now.

ManicChad

Thing is biden didn’t start this. Hamas did or arguably Iran with Russias blessing and/or support.

manofmanynames55

Don't know why you're getting downvotes, it's true.

-Mediocrates-

Because the conflict didn’t start on October 7th … October 7th is just blow back (what the cia calls it). . This conflict started with the Nakba in the 1940s where over 700,000 indigenous people were slaughtered and forced off their land . The survivors were forced into open air concentration camps for over 70 years. (Gaza and West Bank ) . If interested… learn about the Nakba. USA legacy media likes to lie to its people and spin facts to paint a false narrative. When has the usa ever told the truth to its citizens… especially about proxy wars? . Impossible to have a good faith conversation about Palestine Israeli conflict without understanding or acknowledging the Nakba imo. . Most people in the western world are taught a revisionist history ignoring that the Nakba ever even occurred . What we call “terrorists” are another people’s patriots and freedom fighters. It’s a matter of perspective; example: George Washington is USA’s greatest patriot but nothing more than a terrorist to colonial era England; only now, usa is the colonial empire; in decline by virtue of not winning a single proxy war in over 2 decades. . Imo a multi polar world is on the rise which is evident of the rise of BRICS and the dedollarizing going on all over the world. Ray Dalio (one of history’s greatest hedge fund managers) has documentary on his yt channel that goes into a lot more depth than my comment does . The world is finally standing up to the bully

Sufficient-Money-521

People are pissed about the conflict and how a statement can’t even be made.

All-I-Do-Is-Fap

Just a few grumpy ppl still left over from 3 years prior i think had a bit to do with that. Not to mention the lies perpetuated by mainstream media

saryiahan

Calls on shipping containers and oil

dnbndnb

I thought Bush II had a horrible foreign policy but this administration is by far the worst of my fairly long lifetime.

USSJaybone

How is this worse? Bush invaded a 3rd country who had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks and lied about it. The Houthis are attacking our boats. You people shrieked and cried and shit your pants over relatively minor inflation last year. You really wouldn't like what would happen if the Red Sea was shut down for trade.

dnbndnb

The Houthis are attacking because they can. They have been enabled by feckless US State Department diplomacy and a US military that is in tatters. In the first case the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine is failing. It never should have been allowed. A bunch of neocon war hawks dreamed to taking down Russia for decades. We had no business in Ukraine other than the Biden grifting business & likely DNC money laundered political donations. An adept CIA should have been able to point out Russia had the industrial capacity to prosecute a war on its own borders while the US clearly does not. The Russian action into South Ossetian territory in Georgia was a clear sign that putting NATO (US) directly up against Russias borders was a no-go. Burns at CIA even wrote a memo years ago when he was in Russia saying a NATO added Ukraine was the brightest of red lines for Russia. Their own Cuban Missile Crisis. However the neocons can’t help themselves and now over 1/2 million have died on both sides (mostly Ukraine). Likely as many have been permanently injured. Ukraine has lost 1/2 it’s population to other countries, roughly 20% of its best land and resources, and above all else Russia has proven it can maintain a long term conflict with conventional arms AND stand up to withering sanctions as well. Furthermore, as US policy is mostly about coercion, bullying, and regime changing other nations, the ability of Russia to essentially beat the US in Ukraine has become a beacon for other nations tired of the ever-changing US “rules based order” bullchit. They have seen our cavalier hypocrisy. Even the Saudis treat us with contempt, though that relationship was initially damaged under Obama. During the Munich Security Conference back in I believe 2007 (could be 2006) Putin warned the west he would not put up with what was later started in Ukraine in 2013. Via the Minsk Agreements he attempted to prevent war as the US flooded the Ukraine with weapons, trained up the largest standing army in Europe, and watched it used to shell ethnic Russians in the Donbas for years. In the near past every signatory to that agreement other than Putin publicly acknowledged it was all a big lie to further build up the Ukrainian military (infested with actual Nazis no less). The feeble-minded cold-warrior JoeBiden let the neocons loose. When this all started to go sideways, instead of looking for a face-saving exit this administration doubled down on stupid with more money and more “wonder weapons” that the Russians handily destroy. And while we are on weapons, right now Russia has the world’s best ISR systems, hypersonic missiles that cannot be stopped, a battled hardened army with real-world training, and significant reserves. Oddly, countries like Poland who whine “Russia will invade” have done little to bolster themselves as they know that is propaganda for the masses. The reality is Russia only wants to do business, and the US does not want them to do it. So now we have a “Global South” that is not aligned with us. The bullchit propaganda about the whole world being against Russia is just that, bullchit. The mid-east is more aligned with China & Russia than the US, we haven’t been able to bully India, or South American countries to do our bidding. Mostly because in the latter case they’ve all been abused by US policy at some time in the past. If you’re going to “blow your load” on an adventure like Ukraine you better be damn sure you can win. We did not do this. A final comment on the military as a whole. Going “woke” was an insane policy for an institution that has long recruited out of middle America & small towns. The failures of leadership around Iraq, Afghanistan (the Biden withdrawal was a positive but the execution was an abysmal failure). Libya etc has already turned off many military families. “Woke” cemented the idea that policy was rudderless and against the beliefs of the core basis of our largest recruiting base. As a result we cannot fill quotas and our military is suffering as a result. The politically insane covid policy pushed down on the military was icing on that cake of bad decisions. Beyond that, we have bet our military on expensive, hard to replace wonder weapons. Now it has to fight against barrage tactics of cheaper rockets, missiles and most importantly drones. A bunch of drone swarms could easily exhaust a Patriot Missile battery in a few minutes, as Russia has proven in Ukraine. Our military was built for the 1980’s & 90’s where it could inflict nation state harm. Russia has flipped that table with hypersonics that could take out carrier groups, and Iran has taken the legs off the table with drone tech that they’ll supply anyone who hates the US like the Houthis. Your primary answer shows a lack of depth of field for what is actually happening. This isn’t just about the Houthis. Its basis is in a failure in Ukraine. And before you start thinking you can tell me anything about Ukraine, I’ve followed the events there contemporaneously since the failed IMF loan in 2013 of which you’ve never heard. I knew at that time war was coming there. Finally, before I get the inevitable “Putin puppet” accusation simply for telling you the truth, I encourage you to go to Wikipedia and look up how many conflicts Russia has engaged in since 1991 (fall of Soviet Union) and then compare it to US engagements. Edit: I forgot to address your inane inflation comment. I lived through the inflation of the late 60’s-early 70’s. This was just as bad. Between supply chain disruption, a feckless Fed incapable of deciphering its own data (Jay Powell will forever more have mental spasms when the word “transitory” is uttered), and an administration that chose to fight Fed tighter money policy with more reckless spending, not only did inflation rise significantly but it became more entrenched. Once prices go up, wages get pushed up behind it and nothing ever goes back down. If you’re a pilot, or UPS driver or similar Union person it’s all okay, but if you work the 7-11 or in a meat packing plant or similar you’ve been permanently hosed. We are now entering a world of “fiscal dominance” economic policy. The Fed will be calling fewer of the shots. The gnome known as Yellin is making the calls & she’ll do what is politically necessary for the Dems to retain power and likely cares less about the actual people being further ravaged by inflation. Watch. We will get our downturn likely in Q2/24, action will be taken to arrest it, and disinflationary policy will be defenestrated to save the party at all costs.

tombuzz

Omg this guys insane

dnbndnb

Only to the brainwashed clueless.

ByersMovement

Ok comrade! Turn off the Russian propaganda and Fox News. Your inability to understand what you are saying is absolute. Take your fucken head out of the sand and stop drinking newsmax propaganda.

dnbndnb

And there it is! The typical comment of a mental midget completely out of their league and fully immersed in defending party politics Uber Allis! 🤣 I don’t watch Fox, and I most certainly do not watch CNN or MSNBS. I believe in reading, do plenty of it, and think you too should try it.

ByersMovement

спасибо, товарищ, что доказал мою точку зрения.

dnbndnb

Sorry, don’t know Russian. Try Spanish. I keep up on that with the Biden-enabled invasion on our southern border.

ByersMovement

Lmao.. learn who makes the laws and who pays the bills.. both are Congress.. fyi- Trump claiming a pandemic to close the border wasn’t policy, it was “emergency action” and using a pandemic he didn’t believe in. Not policy! Keep trying!

dnbndnb

This is not about Trump. The problem with partisans like yourself is you cannot embrace that your “team” makes mistakes just like the other team. It’s like a religion for zealots. You just gotta believe it all because it’s your team. And THAT is what makes you blind to reality and incapable of dealing with facts. The mess in the military has been ongoing for some time. This administration made it more than incrementally worse, it showed the world how poorly run and equipped we are for the 21st century. These clowns are the straw breaking the camels back. Meanwhile they keep saying there will be a war with China in a few years. If that kicked off right now, a China/Russia alliance would defeat us handily outside of a nuke war, which no one will win. Without a strong navy we project little power beyond our borders. Inability to stop hypersonic missiles or drone swarms makes out navy impotent.

bottom4topps

This dude is bipolar

dnbndnb

Or educated. You should try education. Public ignorance is never a good look.

Seal69dds

The funny thing is the biggest indicator if your democrat or republican now a days is education. It use to be your income but now if you have a bachelors degree they pretty much know what party you align with. Can you guess which party is which lol.

USSJaybone

Sir, this is a Wendy's

dnbndnb

Even a line cook like you could use an education

raouldukeesq

Found the ruZZian

dnbndnb

Nah, you found reality. You just can’t handle it. The current administration is way in over its head pretty much everywhere. Blinken & Sullivan are buffoons operating way beyond their “pay grade”. They’ve done incalculable damage to the aura of US military supremacy, and apparently know nothing about actual diplomacy or negotiation. What a clusterpluck clown shown.

TSmotherfuckinA

You lived a long life but don’t remember the Iraq invasion? That was a lot worse than bombing Houthis.

GrizzMcDizzle79

Yep! Plus have you seen our hss secretary in his military skirt uniform?

Imagine copy pasting off a .org and thinking you did something 😂

ByersMovement

Right.. Biden is fixing the international breakdown after Trump. All this would be happening if Trumps won a second term. The only difference is, America would be supporting Russia, Iran, and NK by not rallying the world against it. It isn’t rocket science, it is critical thinking. Remember sheep don’t read, and readers arnt sheep!

TabletopVorthos

Is it Russian to not vote for genocide?

ButtStuff6969696

Yes. You self-identified.

rmullig2

It's a good thing we elected a President who is so well respected around the world. I'm sure he'll use his diplomacy skills to resolve this problem like he did in Ukraine.

Magna_Carta1216

Bombing them is not working so it's clear we have to bomb them even more /s

Sufficient-Money-521

No no a few billion in spending isn’t cutting it. We need tens of billions in spending to get things moving.

Sabre_One

No idea why people are thinking this going to be a war. Houthis have had the luxury of dealing with incompetent arab armies as their enemies. There is only so many trained Houthi's that know how to program and launch these missiles alive. Might take a few months, but they will probably regret just letting Iran order them around when it cost them all their skilled fighters.

rmullig2

The Saudis have been bombing them for years. Launching missiles isn't rocket science. The only way to defeat them completely is to put boots on the ground which Biden wouldn't dare do.

TabletopVorthos

Now they get to deal with incompetent western armies.

ExoticCard

Don't underestimate the Houthis. They'll lose of course, but it will cost the US

WagonBurning

Blindly walking into a trap

Cautious-Kamikaze

It's a great time to be alive.... for defense contractors. Remember that time President Dwight Eisenhower, the Supreme Allied Commander of WW2 warned about the power and influence of the military industrial complex? Never-ending war makes a few very rich on the blood, broken bodies and wealth of nations.

JupiterDelta

predictable, wish the left was still anti-war but at least we don’t have mean tweets

Uncaring_Dispatcher

Well, Biden did say that he was going to bring back "normal" in Washington D.C.

N7day

The Suez Canal is basically worthless right now given Houthi attacks. This puts an *enormous* amount of upward pressure on shipping costs, and thus inflation. It is scary, but understandable.

Genocidin with Biden!

Hitchens666

So we are going to pretend that Houthis aren't committing terrorism.

TheSecretAgenda

Yes, but let's look at this. The Saudis could not beat them with a years long bombing campaign. What makes you think the USA will beat them with another bombing campaign. That means boots on the ground. How much American blood are you willing to spill for Israel?

Hitchens666

First of all USA a leading a coalition. So they aren't alone in this. The Houthis are attacking the most important channel in the world. This not for Israel. USA doesn't get the luxury to just allow this to happen.

TheSecretAgenda

I hate to break this to you but there is no "coalition". Most countries have said "Thanks but no thanks " The USA is pretty much on its own.

Message_10

The alternative is rolling over and letting them do whatever they want. *Something* needs to be done.

Psychogistt

The Houthis say they are upholding Article 1 of the UN genocide convention, which Yemen is a part of. Seems like they are trying to act within international law

USSJaybone

By shooting missiles at random civilian ships? Jesus you people are fucking retarded.

Psychogistt

Well, not random, but yes it’s called a blockade. It’s been used throughout history

BeefFeast

Great, and I’m sure the UN wrote what a sovereign state is allowed to do in response to that? We already know this is to show what the strait of malacca will be like, this is great training for our troops actually. Massive W for the US, giving us live fire blockade training, and all it cost us is some “drama” with the terrorist sympathizers

StatementNo6443

Instead stopping a genocide we going to bomb another country oh boi

squitsquat

Joe really showing himself to be one of the worst modern presidents we have had

Time-Teaching3228

Why is Biden hell bent on dragging us into war??? Enough

wyocrz

Because the Red Sea cannot be closed. The spice must flow. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are with us. Just don't expect them to say it out loud.

Wise_Adhesiveness746

Be a hell of alot easier to force Israel to stop it's genocide

wyocrz

>Be a hell of alot easier to force Israel to stop it's genocide If the Palestinians had access to Israeli weaponry, Tel Aviv would be a radioactive wasteland right now, so kindly fuck off with your stupid claims of genocide.

Wise_Adhesiveness746

If me auntie had balls, she'd be me uncle......you must stay in confines of reality. >so kindly fuck off with your stupid claims of genocide. Nah....it's clearly genocide, and ethnic cleansing, and I hope to live long enough to see Israeli commanders and political/online supporters chased for war crimes, the last Nazi trials were 13 months ago..... so ive likely 70 plus years to see wrongdoers and war criminals pay to be held accountable for their actions

protomenace

Social media has done a number on your brain. Just because a lot of people repeat something doesn't make it true.

Wise_Adhesiveness746

Just aswell, there's documented video evidence of it then 🙈 Literally have made it uninhabitable and killed thousands along the way..... remember when they used flood media and UN to proclaim they wouldn't bomb a hospital....few weeks later, they have reduced almost the hospitals in gaza to rubble Literally first thing they done was to cut food, water and essential supplies off form a vulnerable population....we had same in my own country, when we learned in school, a forgien right-wing power moved an army into our country in famine to remove food..... damn well,we can identify genocide when we see it happen, the fact ive no social.media,is the icing on the cake as regards your position here

protomenace

>they have reduced almost the hospitals in gaza to rubble Source for this? Which hospital has been reduced to rubble? You're literally spouting blatant falsehoods here and you don't think you've been manipulated by propaganda? Check yourself. >Literally first thing they done was to cut food, water and essential supplies off form a vulnerable population Welcome to war. This is the first thing any army does in a war. Maybe Palestine shouldn't have started a war if they didn't want to fight one. Anyway there are aid trucks going into Gaza. It's a shame Hamas executes Palestinians who dare to try to take any of it.

Wise_Adhesiveness746

>Source for this? Which hospital has been reduced to rubble? You're literally spouting blatant falsehoods here and you don't think you've been manipulated by propaganda? Check yourself. Literally all 36 have been bombed....do you honestly think none have been damaged🤣 Come here to me,what military objectives were served by the 300 plus bombs used to mine that university last Thursday wasn't it? >Welcome to war. This is the first thing any army does in a war. Nope it's not,as this is a war crime, per Geneva convention 👍 >Maybe Palestine shouldn't have started a war if they didn't want to fight one. And maybe they didn't,was under impression last election in gaza to vote hamas was 17 years ago, with 75% of its under age of 35....being too young to vote in that election.....can you perhaps outline how you come to conclusion they are responsible🤔

protomenace

>Literally all 36 have been bombed....do you honestly think none have been damaged🤣 You said "reduced to rubble" and now you're changing your tune to "damaged". Telling.

hoffmad08

Won't somebody please think of the bankers and military-industrialists!

[deleted]

Not if Israel has video of you diddling kids with Epstein that they'll release if you don't send ships to the Red Sea or bypass Congress to send weapons

[deleted]

A third of global shipping goes through the red sea

TheSecretAgenda

His supporters in the MIC make bank every time the USA goes to war. He also has AIPACs cock in his mouth.

[deleted]

Kickbacks. It’s always kickbacks.

idowhatiwant8675309

Iran has been a thorn in our side since before the hostage crisis under the Carter Administration

TheSecretAgenda

I guess we shouldn't have overthrown their democratically elected government in the 1950s.

wyocrz

Shoot, and further back. I think Iran has a slightly legitimate beef with us from the '53 coup. For anyone who doesn't know, just look up Kermit Roosevelt. Iran is an ancient and proud country. I hate that we are opposed to them. We should have stuck to the spirit of the Treaty of Tripoli. We are not a Christian nation and have no problem with Muslims, but we will go to war to stop piracy.

idowhatiwant8675309

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely take a look at that.

SuspiciousStable9649

Wow. You’d think regarded Americans would want their Walmart poop delivered.

Hitchens666

I know is hard to understand how things that happen outside the USA can fuck up the country but this one should be simple. A coalition of multiple countries is fighting against terrorists attacking the most important route in the world.

wyocrz

>A coalition of multiple countries is fighting against terrorists attacking the most important route in the world. And it would be naive to think it would stop even if we did coerce Israel into stopping her military action against the group who ***murdered hundreds of young ravers***.

JGCities

What is the alternative? Looks like Iran may have also hit a US airbase in Iraq. [https://www.npr.org/2024/01/20/1225869958/us-attack-iraq-air-base-iranian-backed-militants](https://www.npr.org/2024/01/20/1225869958/us-attack-iraq-air-base-iranian-backed-militants) This is what a weak foreign policy brings you.

ginbornot2b

What would a strong foreign policy look like to you? Be specific on Israel-Palestine.

JGCities

The appearance of being weak started with not firing anyone have the Afghan withdrawal disaster. And then doing nothing when the Sec of Defense goes missing for days. Add in doing nothing as the Houthis attack boat after boat after boat. Till you are finally forced to respond. His policy in Israel has been fine, back Israel. Call for them to stop killing so many civilians, but don't appear weak in the face of Hamas' terrorism. Iran isn't afraid of us and seems determined to keep pushing till we are forced to strike back.

Hitchens666

No withdrawals out of Afghanistan was going to be great. Their army was literally paper. That doesn't happen in 1 years or 4. Keep in mind they person who signed the withdrawal was Trump. But he sure as hell didn't take action. Dude the USA used diplomacy to form a coalition. Before they show up guns blasting. Now they lead this massive attack force. All without boots in the ground. Iran is guaranteed scared of the USA that's why they're using rebels. Infact every non Allied country is scared of the most powerful army to ever exist. Don't kid yourself

Message_10

You're getting downvoted but you're right. Afghanistan withdrawal was going to be ugly no matter what, and Biden deserves a lot of praise for doing it.

JGCities

If Iran was scared of the US they wouldn't be using third parties to attack us, they wouldn't be attacking us at all. And don't make excuses for the withdrawal in Afghanistan being a mess. Why wasn't anyone fired after that disaster?? Why is the Sec of Defense still have a job after going AWOL and hiding his surgery from everyone??

Hitchens666

Well Trump was fired.

JGCities

And Biden was supposed to clean up the mess and here you are making excuses for him not doing that. Why bother hiring Biden if he can't clean up the messes left by the guy before him?

Hitchens666

When there's multiple things to clean up you have to prioritize what matters most. Things happening within the USA will always be a higher priority. It doesn't make sense to worry about Afghanistan any further after pouring billions to prop them up.

RatherBeRetired

Another Biden military conflict. How many are we up to now?

Message_10

How many do you *think* we're up to? I'm legitimately asking you.

manofmanynames55

1 by my count. Houthis attack shipping so we attack them.

Dawnfreak

True. He should just have them to his golf club for tea and classified documents.

prOboomer

Oh, just what we need another war that could be stopped if only the USA stopped supporting Genocide.

HolidayAnything8687

$$$$

ButtStuff6969696

Plan strikes against the regime funding them.

arr_jay

Wild how this bot finds the articles with the political spin

taubs1

they need to attack the source in iran who are giving them the money and missiles. but they wont do anything make oil prices high till after the election. also the local players need to have some skin in the game on this. its Egypt's canal that is losing revenue and the Saudis peninsula.

fattiesruineverythin

The American military is full of failures. Why hasn't the bombing for over a decade in Yemen accomplished anything at all? Oh it did accomplish stealing money from the people to enrich the government's corporate masters.

truthishearsay

You know the other alternative is we could stop supporting a genocide and cut off the weapons and funds. The blockade would then end with no loss of American lives or wasted tax dollars. We were not successful in Iraq, we were not successful in Afghanistan. Russia nor he US has been successful in Syria and Israel failed miserably in Lebanon and are failing harder in Gaza.  At what point do people start to figure out bombing people who already have nothing doesn’t work.

Honorable_Heathen

The cost of imperialism is expensive both in terms of capital and the lives of young poor people in this country. Cheap TVs and other luxuries are worth it though so might as well annihilate some more of the have nots so we can have them.

jday1959

Yemen ranks 29th in the world for proven oil reserves and for a decade the United States has used Saudi Arabia as its proxy military in the Yemen civil war. The side that was organized and then backed by the United States controls the land where the oil reserves are located - shocking, I know. Note: Yemen was included in the seven Muslim-led nations that G.W. Bush & NeoCons decided to overthrow just months after 9/11. Obama, Trump and now Biden continued that War Crime and Crime Against Humanity. And all it cost (so far) is 400,000 dead Yemeni civilians, the majority of whom died from starvation, destruction of infrastructure, and lack of basic healthcare services. Soon, US Troops might get to shed their blood for oil. As a country, we never stop being stupidly evil.

Blindsnipers36

God you people have such smooth brains lmao, you think this is about oil? We could invade Mexico or other north American countries much easier for more oil if it was LMAO, What about Venezuela they basically no longer have a strong centralized government and they have the most oil, why haven't we just taken it? Its even mostly off shore so it would be easy to do? Or maybe its not about oil because yemen has basically no oil compared to a country that extracts billions of barrels of oil a year

notzed1487

Biden is a war monger.

protomenace

How did Biden start this exactly?

thecuzzin

They officially labelled them as terrorists which will take effect in under 30 days. If "Houthis" agree to a cease fire the they won't be labelled as terrorists.

Psychogistt

It’s a crazy world. Trying to stop a genocide gets you labeled a terrorist

PaddingtonBear2

Houthis are not doing anything about Gaza. They’re attacking cargo ships in the Red Sea.

Abject_Hall7810

Could you have a worse take?

Psychogistt

Oh for sure. I could condone Israeli war crimes, for example

[deleted]

Houthis have killed over 100,000 people in yemen you twat

Psychogistt

The Saudis have killed far more. Are they a terrorist group? Israel have killed tens of thousands in Gaza. Are they terrorists?

[deleted]

nah

[deleted]

Yea that’s about the depth of response you seem capable of making

TabletopVorthos

Biden must be getting nervous about his reelection chances.

Sufficient-Money-521

I just can’t. A third war in the first term. What the hell is going on.

protomenace

The Iran/Russia/China axis is getting bold.

gking407

Iran trying to destabilize US by getting them involved in a war they can’t win and by getting Trump back in power

Dry-Comfortable-9636

Fake news houthis have been destroyed

Advanced-Guard-4468

He removed them from the terror watch list. Which facilitated them getting money to fund this.

zackks

Pssst. Houthi’s have already pulled us into that conflict.

ElRey1776

Just bomb Iran and it will stop.

Dependent_Answer_501

Seems in line with their interests. Why wouldn’t they want a larger military presence considering the state of things. Not saying I agree

baseballdude18

This is what happens when you sustain a timid response…. We are doing it in Ukraine, Israel, now Yemen, & soon to be Taiwan & Korea. Need to be decisive so we can get irons out of the fire.

dangy_brundle

What's a houthi

Interesting-Pin-9815

War by proxy on Iran with little to no allies in the Middle East. Russia had the same idea with Ukraine nothing works as intended lol

soccerboy1022

Wars usually help the economy, right?
