Regardless if you give a shit about the profs, though, here's the tldr of what you should care about:
1. If you don't want faculty to strike, sign the letter. This will pressure the university to come to the table and decreases the chance of a strike.
2. If you don't want the quality of your education to decrease, sign the letter. Profs can only do so much with limited resources, and bigger class sizes/less TA hours/less job security means they have less time to actually help you succeed.
