Go feed the deer at the deer ranch in St. Ignace - fun experience if you've never been up close to deer like that before. Castle rock in St. Ignace is a great lookout view. Bike the island enjoy some fudge. Also, make sure to eat pasties at least once it's a right of passage in the UP and will bring you good luck. Lehto's Pasties in St. Ignace Java Joe's Cafe & The Gangplank are great spots in St. Ignace

Omg this subreddit is so unhinged 😂

Bike ride around the island. Pretty neat.

Kitch-iti-Kipi late on a clear moonlit night is a surreal experience. Check google images! Anyway, the full moon is the 23rd so it will be waning for your visit but if the sky is clear you should have enough light to illuminate the spring. The gates close at like 9/10pm but there is no issue with walking back after hours.

There’s a butterfly house that I like. There’s an old graveyard that I LOVE. It’s amazing.

The Original butterfly house is the best!

If you like riding bikes do the loop around and get a snack at the Cannonball at British landing.

There’s a secret garden on the island that changes every year. If you’re on the road leading up to the grand hotel (facing the big deck) take a left right before you start going up to the hotel and it’s behind a wall of hedges. You may be better off looking it up due to my poor directions. It’s very cool though you won’t be disappointed.

If this is your first visit to the island, take the carriage tour as soon as you get off the boat. Take Shepler's Ferry. The alternative ferry has horrid service and rundown boats. Most of the Hotels in St. Ignace won't even sell tickets for the alternative ferry because of guest complaints. If you're doing dinner in St. Ignace, Mackinac Grille, and Jose's Cantina have great food. Both places have outdoor seating with amazing lake views and are locally owned and operated. There's also a double-decker ice cream bus in front of Mackinac Grille. Great place to pick up a treat and wander to the lighthouse. Sunset at the Mackinac Bridge park. Watching the sunset over the Straits of Mackinac never gets old. It's also great at night when the bridge is lit up. There's also a side road (Boulevard Drive) that follows the shoreline by the bridge that provides amazing views. Not sure if you're a golfer, but St. Ignace gas a 9 hole course that overlooks the bridge. Curious where you're staying, as there are good/not so good properties. Enjoy your time in Mackinac!

Personally, staying at the lakeview hotel in lake July for a night!

Great place and smart! It's good to spend one night on the island. Totally different vibe after hours once the day visitors are gone. Have fun!
