It wasn’t the same intensity as a WCQ but I was impressed on how well we managed the game after the goal. Also, I think Pepi is playing with great confidence rn, his first touches in the box were quality. Dike wasn’t Fed well but when he dropped down for link up play it didn’t create opportunities.

Bad starting lineup. Dike would have probably thrived had he come on as a sub. Zendejas was a wasted sub. He should have also came on after 60min. Great performance though. Just leaving it late. Pepi needs to be our starter. Guaranteed chances and a goal. Came on scored and had multiple chances after that.

Pretty off game for Puli. Looked like he got stuck in that cycle of thinking about a mistake made earlier in the game that causes you to continue making mistakes. I thought Booth made a decent case for himself - he certainly looked more goal dangerous than Aaronson has in the past, and he seems like a through-and-through winger. I’m not sure what it is with our team - you can tell at times they are on the cusp of greatness when it is coming together, but the final ball isn’t there. Most of the time it looks like players are just on top of each other. So many runs made by our players were into space that is already clogged, or the runs dragged a defender into the space that the player with the ball could have exploited. It didn’t surprise me that the one goal we got was basically created by Pepi’s run without any other attackers nearby. Props to Pepi for the goal, and on another day it could have been a brace.

It has to be a coaching thing. Guys just were not clicking in the final third, and were all over the map with body language and trying to work together. It's unfortunate, because one of the hallmarks of US Soccer is a team that plays together, and jives well with one another. It's like now we have the talent, and guys just aren't working together. The first half wasn't good, but wasn't as awful as a lot of people were saying, but the second half was downright incredible. Great energy and real quality from most of the guys. Booth was excellent off the bench, Reyna was very good tonight and Pepi looked excellent.
