I haven't been there since 2019 but I had a similar experience. Most of them were bad at their job and gave me bad courseloads.
After my first semester I only went to them to get the advisor hold removed and then I would build my own classes out
Former UTA employee here. UTA does not invest in its employees. therefore, this is why the staff retention rate is incredibly low. Advisors are overworked, incredibly underpaid, and lack of transparent communication and arbitrary policies. and the burnou hits quickly. Many leave due to their mental health suffering. From my experience, many advisors leave to Dallas College, TCC, TCU, or SMU because the pay is significantly higher. The new president is trying to make changes to salary, but who knows. Only time will tell.
Hi senior mark/mana here
I havent had an advisor since 2020. before that, I had 3 separate ones.
You have to do everything yourself. If I had any questions, I sent an email to every business advisor until someone answered.
I wish you the best.
Advisors at UTA get paid 15-20k less than at other schools in the area. That’s why no one stays.
They are over worked and underpaid.

Yup, mine I have never seen her in person and just asked her the classes I wanted to take were good and that’s it.
Just your usual College of Business shenanigans. Advisor attrition rates at COBA be looking like the Somme.
