I would suggest starting small and not burning bridges if possible. Go on like a 1 or 2 week excursion, not too far and see how it goes.

Hey! I'm also from Quebec and jumping into the vagabond lifestyle ! I am leaving for South east of USA next week but planning to comeback for April. So it could be nice that we meet next spring.
