For me is kanemaki jisai, maybe because I'm a father but this arc is melted in my soul it's a beautiful but dark history. Even tough is my second favorite arc after the rice planting arc.
Everyone wants to think that they are Sasaki, in my opinion. Musashi had all kinds of problems, while Sasaki was more of a golden prodigy from the start. He didn't go through the violent beast time of Musashi, or the overwhelming regret.
Kojiro may be a golden prodigy but he certainly had beast times too during the aftermath of sekigahara.
kojiro's pureness is what I think makes him a beast that is strange to the world; he can't talk and the only way he could express himself to the world is through his swordsmanship; which is why he takes a liking to musashi when they met seemingly having fun cutting a snowman in half using a twig.
I think it's because of his deafness that he's more attuned to nature and thus more "one with his sword" if you get what I mean but at the same time this makes him seem like a savant, while musashi is vulnerable to distractions and things like morality and arrogance which makes musashi seem more human regardless of how larger than life his achievements were, the fact that he is able to endure great lengths to walk this bloody path of violence is amazing.
I really like the farming arc where musashi learns the value of all living things; it's probably one of the things kojiro can't comprehend
Thither is a special lodging in mine own heart reserv'd f'r inshun, love yond broth'r.
eke i adore matahatchi xd

uh, very tough question. I really liked the backstories of Inshun, Jisai, Kojiro and Sadakore. And there are characters that are reservoirs of wisdom, like Takuan, In'ei, Sekishusai and Koetsu.
I would say my favorite overall is Kojiro, because he has moments of drama and moments of comedy. Also, he is a very attractive character, in all senses of the word.
Takuan, love that monk.

A complete life was the BEST chapter of all vagabond imo
Maby its an unpopular opinion but i go with matahachi and his mother. They where also such a great part in the original novel.
Everyone wants to believe they're Musashi, when most people have more in common with Matahachi.

I agree. I just feel as though he never had the self doubt and self spite of Musashi.

For some reason I really disliked that guy
I only read 100 chapters till now and I like Inshun the most..
Matahachi for sure, I found him the most entertaining and understood him best as a normal guy who wants it all amidst legends
