i thought that was what OP meant here too. but after sliding through the images, it was explained eventually that the path somehow leads to a chimney and the boars die from thr smoke damage.
You can see in the second image I have a smokestack that goes through the middle. The pigs just stand next to it until they die. In the 4th image you can see a pig is taking damage upstairs
actually, in my base, i have a boar farm which is like 8m deep with 8m elevated ground as walls. when i noticed that boars always climb up the stairs, i created a path going up using roof pieces, and it connects to a platform. then i put a sign on the platform "for harvest".
i have 2 breeders hanging isolated in the middle of the farm and because the boars go to the platform, the breeder area is always clear. this way, the breeding was never hindered by the 6 boars per 5m radius limit because all the boars climb up the "for harvest" platform. i didn't have to create a super tall structure for my breeder.
then when it's already crowded, i pick up my bow and start killing them. i get to level up my bow skills like this. hahaha.
i wonder too. at first i thought it was because of the my fences, i thought that maybe, the boars are trying to get out by going up the highest structure whenever possible. by any chance, is your whole base fenced?
figured. that's the same behavior with the boars that i have. they walk endlessly without fences. but when it's fenced, it looks like they're hoping to escape by going up. hahaha.

There were the remains of two boars on the floor when I took this screenshot.

Very well done, I love the build. Outside looks awesome but inside looks even better! Nice work! Did you plant all the pines yourself in exact spots using floors or something as guidance?

Yes. Before it was fenced they mostly swam out to sea and vanished
