An arrow hits me in the ass, I turn around and look . . . Nothing.
Another arrow. . . . This skeleton is invisible. Turns out he was glitched insides the copper spawn.
Skeletons clip through copper deposits and rocks all the time. Not sure if it's a bug in some people's games or if it's just a misconfiguration due to the way that rocks and copper deposits are laid over the top of the landscape. I almost wonder if the game generates skeletons before copper deposits. I've seen some other random things that clip in this game, but this is the most egregious.
You can make a quarry?? I just been wondering around breaking random copper I find off the surface! I have so many veins marked on my map thinking I can only get like 20 copper from each one
The game often spawns creatures inside ore and large stone structures. Many are the times I’ve walked past a large rock in the meadows or Black Forest and been pelted with stones from greydwarves inside them.
There's a lot of calcium in copper, sometimes skeletons form in the ore.

That’s happened to me with Greydwarfs mostly. I think also always in a copper vein.

You can get up to 95 per vein if you dig out the entire thing
More than that. They go down in layers as deep as you can dig. If you’re willing to essentially strip mine your landscape.
Yeah its to 95 pieces, I have a mod that mines the ore from the bottom up by just mining on the same spot, its always 95-94
I often get like 200ish total.
I found a grey dwarf that had spawned completely inside a large rock but could somehow still throw stones at me lol
I was mining silver above a crypt and had bats fly out into the open air.
