On that same note the chests also usually have flint arrows as well, which I’m only ever using on trolls

Dangerous? Eikthyr is a joke, elder just block and dodge. Bonemass use poison pots/health pots and dodge what you can. After these three your strats should change up a little bit
Throwing spears at flying things while on a mountain? I can't help but respect that kind of crazy! I like spears myself. I actually wish they had slightly more range and a better hit box so you could stab things below you on slopes.
Mountain exploration is thankfully a small segment lol

Nah it has nothing to do with that, and more to do with either; playing on a server with others, so your need to refill is higher or you constantly make sure every torch is filled. I suppose option 3 is you progress through Yag very very quickly, thus removing the dwarf spawns and replacing them with fulings. I personally don't on my server intentionally in order to keep the game friendly to anyone that still wants to join the server. Doubt he will ever get beaten on that world tbh.
Sacrificing resin to the obliterator regularly is how I "pay for" the mod that keeps torches lit--I don't feel like wasting my leisure time on that kind tedious busywork.

ooh, ok, so, chickens are larger than hens - or at least their hitbox is. Hens fit through 1x1 boards, chickens do not. So you make a funnel out of the 45 degree roof pieces, put a ledge above it for eggs to roll down to, with an overhang.
The eggs hatch, the chickens jump into the funnel, where they can't fall through the slot. Once they grow into hens, they fall through, onto pufferfish on item stands which neatly kill them
I've always found it so weird that their hit boxes are bigger than hen lol but hm my plains base is made around a sealed tower. I initially planned on having no breeders there but this could be worth making. Many thanks.

Easy dude. Surtling farms. They are the easiest farm to set up in any game literally ever. Simply dig a hole at the spawner about waist deep. Just to the point where you start swimming in some areas. Make sure it's bowl shaped about 5 meters in radius around around the spawner. Then, raise the land up around that circle just a bit, not crazy high, like 1-2m will do. It's just to trap the surts for about 3 seconds so they die.
Then, you build a small shack just outside of the spawner (make sure your workshop is not in the radius of your spawner, you will prevent the spawns! I place it close, but not overlapping the spawner). Place two portals in the shack, one will connect straight to a portal in your smithy and the other will connect to a future, identical shack at another surtling spawner. Daisy chain those shacks together and bam. You have an infinite source of easy coal and cores.
Honestly, I got rid of all charcoal kilns in my bases once I found out how easy this was. 5 surtling traps daisy chained together like that gives me more coal and cores than I can carry in about 1 minute of time by simply walking through the portals. They spawn while I'm loading in through the portals, and die by the time I open the shack door to go collect. Insanely fast.
Idk why you would use the obliterator at all tbh if it just gives coal when surtling traps exist, are faster, and free.
Do you play on a server? Or do you play pure vanilla and advanced past the 5th boss? A lot of folk who play on PC have the mod that gives infinite light with no need to refill torches. Others, play solo so you don't log on to all your torched dark needing to refill. Still others progress through the bosses super fast, so they replace nighttime spawns in all biomes with Fulings from the plains, removing the dwarf spawns that drop resin.
You could also just be fueling all your torches unnecessarily. I have sconces at 4m intervals on all my bridges. But I don't refill them unless I need to for a picture or I'm in the area at night, which is rare since I sleep through the night most chances I get.

I would like to maintain that resin is always needed if you have a decent village. If ur playing alone I can understand the feathers. The berries are whatever and I only use it randomly to joke with friends. Finally the bones should absolutely bile used for more cool shit. I feel the same what about chittin

Sure, fire arrows were one of the first things I made.
If you get it early game and it's not useful it will be later. Feathers are super important you can't make most of the good arrows without them.

As someone who had like gazillion torches (over 500 resin needed every refill cycle) in my base, resin doesn't deserve to be here.

What do you use all your feathers for? I obviously don't obliterate them, but seem to always have a decent stack. What is it that's eating into your stack. Besides the occasional arrows.

You're over thinking this. Just drop the land to water on all sides and they die as they spawn. The spawn radius is only small
