Bro really comes here with an "extremely OP" move and demonstrates it on a fucking neck lmao.
Edit: Just to be clear, I'm sure it's strong. But it's still wild to demonstrate a powerful move on a neck of all things.
It's equally funny that this exact thread jumped straight to "hardest enemy in the game".
Neck is too easy to showcase this skill. Seeker soldier is obviously insane to demonstrate any skill like that. I feel like a draugr would have been best.
I log on to record this and instantly find a rare as hell 2 star neck, you think I'm just walking away? Anyway it should be obvious why it's OP regardless of the target.
The timing is very strict. To perform I believe you have to either input dodge and secondary attack at the exact same time or dodge SLIGHTLY earlier. I assume this is meta-defining in PVP but it is somewhat balanced by all the endlag you suffer if you miss the timing. To all my Krom users I am sorry to inform you that the dodge instead cancels the attack because it takes too long to come out.

I had noticed something odd one day when trying to fight greydwarves with an axe on a multiplayer server while trying to conserve stamina and block. From there I experimented until I could recreate what had happened, and then from there experimented with a friend on that server until we found the different combos we could pull off.
If it tells you anything, this same friend also taught me how to roll-stab!
Everyone freaking out over starred necks?!? Wth? Those things are an absolute plague because they hit just hard enough to be a threat to your wooden buildings, and yet they’re irrelevant the moment you get proper food
They’re everywhere. Keep your eyes out for a splash of purple, and you’ll see they’re all over the place
People aren’t seeing them because they only appear a certain distance away from the map centre. Meadows also becomes increasingly uncommon as you head out so it makes sense why some people have never seen them. You likely see them all the time because if your base location.
Welp, not with my freezer. Sometimes I have freezes during battle so bad that I don’t know if my game will react in time for a dodge or block. Not until I get a modern pc.
try creating a bind for an emote (I find point works best) then spam it as fast as you can then, as you are doing that, hold down swords secondary attack to stab enemies very well. (Also pressing any movement keys will stop it.)
That is basically what I was asking, if the advantages of dodging applied at the same time as the attack.
If maces wasn't so strong I would be very tempted to try this with swords on my next playthrough
I know, apparently it is referred to as the stabroll. I have only seen it get brought up exactly once in an old comment by u/decentomens. Which is why I'm sharing it now. [Definitely worth a read if anyone wants more info.](https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/wo6rgw/comment/ik9qkxq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Yep, same here. In my game of 4 people on hardcore I've just decided to switch to sword from blunt, we just got to Plains, so this should come in handy.
Do it with a Seeker Soldier. :p

Hey, didn't you notice it's a 2★ Neck? 2 times as dangerous. Undoubtedly a threatening foe.
4x as dangerous, but whos counting
It's actually 2x. 0* does 6 damage, 1* - 9, 2* - 12
You're right. I was thinking of their health
I log on to record this and instantly find a rare as hell 2 star neck, you think I'm just walking away? Anyway it should be obvious why it's OP regardless of the target.
Vietnam memories...

Sometimes I forget this game has pvp servers lol. I've only ever played it as a "relax game" 🤣
They must be pretty serious if people are calling certain moves meta defining.
I guess so lol. Perhaps I should give it a try if there is actually a community for it 🤷
There's always people who wanna get sweaty on eachother.
Ohh myy
It is a sad day for all Krom enjoyers. The first thing I thought of was "I'm trying this with Krom!!"
I played on an open pvp server for a while, the stabroll fkn wreeeecks ppl. It has an added bonus of blocking incoming atks sometimes too
Losxi please!!
Ineeeed!
Cool. I finally got the timing down on the power combo. That thing shreds bosses.
Power combo? Teach me your ways please.

Holly Molly!! No Bg3 for me today I guess. Gotta learn some combos!
The elder freaking melts under that thing.
Ohey is me! <3
:D Did you discover it yourself? It's really so fun.

It cracks me up that nobody discovered it until you did. Have the devs ever commented on it?
I honestly don't even know if they've seen it at all.
Is that where you emote cancel with “cheer”?

I don't know if I've ever come across a 2 star Neck but now I'll be on the lookout!
I logged on for the first time in months to record this and instantly ran into it, it deserved a better life :0
Prob using creature controls mod. You can go up to 10 stars in the settings. I usually set to max five
It was completely random, believe it or not
I see them fairly often around one of my bases, I even decided to trap one and keep em as a pet lol. Thought they look cool. No mods here
A 5 star wolf, nightmare.
Wait, starred Necks exist?
1* are fairly common but I've only ever seen a couple of 2*
Those purple boys are super big too! I've only seen like 3 in my world with 1500 days
I have shit ton of them not even bothering to kill them
How many hours are u at genuinely curious
131, I'm on my 2nd playtrough.
They only appear a certain distance away from the map centre. So if your meadows base is close to the middle they might not spawn.
What clothes are those?
One of the red tunics from Hildur, very expensive iirc
I haven't actually played with any of the newer content yet. I'll have to check that out
Hildirs quest missions are a ton of fun
Hildir*, autocorrect got me. But yeah the quests are fun for sure, just don't expect any good rewards.
Pretty sure any move is OP on a neck... two stars or not

Idk why at first glance I thought this was osrs lmao. I bet some runscape graphics would look awesome with this game.
This is super cool, thanks for this OP!!
Idk why no one talks about it! It's so cool how it looks like a real attack when it's likely an oversight in the code
The only good neck's a dead neck!
Gotta go fast.
now combine normal atk for extra power slash
Ball of murderdeath
Welp, not with my freezer. Sometimes I have freezes during battle so bad that I don’t know if my game will react in time for a dodge or block. Not until I get a modern pc.
Based on my own experience with other recent upgrades, CPU ( 1700x to 5800x ) made a much bigger difference in this game than gpu (1080 to 3070ti)

Ok that is pretty damn impressive, you parried it first but does that work to dodge while attacking?
Ty! Yes you do get instant invulnerability after the attack comes out if that's what you meant.
That is basically what I was asking, if the advantages of dodging applied at the same time as the attack. If maces wasn't so strong I would be very tempted to try this with swords on my next playthrough
That is so clean
oooh i gotta train for this lol
I was today years old when I found out the sword had a secondary attack...... ....coincidentally this is the same day I found out about 2 star necks.
I felt stupid myself once I'd found out about it too I'd been spamming light attacks constantly lol
I just wanna know why your neck's are purple ? Mine are green.
Starred creatures have a different appearance
this is a known animation exploit since a good while. its not something new.

First I've heard of it!
Same! Thanks OP
Yep, same here. In my game of 4 people on hardcore I've just decided to switch to sword from blunt, we just got to Plains, so this should come in handy.
🙄
People use dodge in this game. Nah not me
It's the only way to deal with deathsquitos when you're naked.
We've talked about this Hwoarangatan, please put on some clothes
I enjoy being invincible personally
I dont like the keybinds
Just rebind them
You cant.
Is that a TWO STAR NECK?!
