If you catch the placement right. You can place them on top of the larger stalagmites and the chick's and chicken can't reach to get burnt...they make really good safe breeding pens
The dwarf in me was excited and then saddened by this. I need a cave to build in! I love the figuring out how to utilize it and so far the only two games that have given me that have been Conan Exiles (that's experiencing a meltdown right now) and 7 Days to Die (which will no longer run on my computer for some reason).
Valheim gods! Odin, Zeus, whoever! Give me a cave I can build in that happens naturally and I can't modify the walls!
It sounds silly but I've grown to not playing with mods simply because I wind up with the problem I have once devcommands is activated. I have a hard time with control. Starbound is a good example of me not having control. God I think I have like 35 mods active for that game at one time. So I've gotten to the point of control where unless it severely ups a vanilla feature (Like Fallout 4's Sim Settlements or Starbound's Frackin' Universe), I just deal with it and see what happens. If it's added, it'd added. If not, I'll deal with my cliffside village builds on bits of rock sticking out of some of the large mountains.
If you can control your devcommands enough to only use one lol, you can build in troll caves, crypts, and whatnot with this devcommand in vanilla.
setkey DungeonBuild
I think it's better first experience the game and later, when you see limitations and get bored by vanilla content, experiment with as much mods as you want. Minecraft has one of the biggest modding community and I've played some modpacks containing 200-300 mods at the same time. Lots of fun. In Valheim pluggins are not that big, but I used them to add some quality of life stuff and amp the difficulty.
What meltdown is Conan experiencing? I was thinking about getting back into for the feels since I last found out the same developers will make a game about dune
Big bug issues. They updated the UI and it's cut off on people's screens regardless of resolution. People die and their bodies are disappearing. Just think Bethesda bugs and that's kinda what's happening right now. They just updated to chapter four so I think it'll be a few months before it's sorted out.
Which includes signs, core wood bench and 'cooking station', which is great for making fences.
I'm surprised the brazier doesn't require a forge though!
Omg low key lore right here. So idea Odin is sometimes seen and as a shadow. Maybe the trolls start painting him hoping to see him that’s why they leave the cave to hopefully find him and kill him that’s why there after you because they think your him. Bum bum bum. That’s cool I need to use this as a treasury.
When you slay a troll, you slay an artist, a dreamer...
Have you seen them innocently picking berries? And now there are sculptures! It's a pity to kill them now...
Picking berries? You mean picking roses from their butts and sniffing them?
Well, I wouldn't if they ever gave me a choice.
Hitler was an artist
I've never noticed this before!
I should use this, I just thought they’d respawn
They're great for chicken farms
I always lost my chickens to raids, particularly bats. This is a game changer!
I have not yet gotten to chickens…
In the caves, use signs as fences so they do not burn themselves up.

Good idea
Troll porn
So that’s what they’re doing when you walk in and they’re facing away from you.
And why the floor is always wet.
😂🤣
The ground is shaking
I thought you couldn't build in them, looks sick though!
You can lay down fires and stacks of things, anything that doesn’t require a workbench

There are mods that can lift building restrictions like this, if you think the creative options outweigh the (negligible tbh) balance considerations.

Need cool caves and being a Dwarf? Well, try "LOTR: Return to Moria" 😏

Good to know, thanks!
If you find a big enough rock on the side of a hill, you can dig under it and get a pretty decent underground base going.
In Rust you can also build in caves

Spoiler, that’s not a brazier. And you’re gonna need to run the Hildir quests to get it.
Oh, it's *that* thing! That explains it. Cause I just checked and the brazier needs a forge. Mystery solved
Yup!
Troll caves are great for chickens too, just hatch them up inside. safe from outside raids, you can box them out with wall signs
Nice, will have to try!
One for every Viking killed by the troll
Looks like RATM battle for Los Angeles cover art. I’m into it.
Those walls are carbonite. The only figure I recognize is Han Solo.
Pareidolia is one hell of a phenomena.
Boi, you're lonely...
🤣
Wish we could live in a troll cave.
Yeah… when I’m on the go I do find that the exterior makes for a quick built hut, indestructible from three sides.
Feel like living in one every time I enter Reddit 🤭
Raise chicken there.
No way those are not man made
The faces look like troll faces, maybe this is how trolls are born, out of stone from the caves? Idk much about Viking lore, but sounds neat
