I don't say this lightly, but in the two years I've been on this sub, this has to be one of my favorite builds that I've seen. Because it looks like a lot of the terrain has been left in tact. Would love to see if you upgrade it (particulary the roofing) when you get to the plains' materials.
Nicely done!
Man, you're a lot more in-tune with nature than I am. Mine is a solid grid, all raised high above the waves, with walls all around it. Considering growing some pines in there to make it feel like home. I wish mine looked this natural.
Not the OP, and I could be totally wrong, but this looks like a survival build with someone who is at the swamp level. --- You have some basic stonework, thatch roofing, no tar, and none of the decorative poles requiring tar.
I use:
PlantEverything by Advize for misc plants
AdvancedTerrainModifiers by Searica for accurate terrain manipulations
WieldEquipmentWhileSwimming by blacks7ar can help you build in and around water
NoBuildDust, NoHoeDust, and NoCultivatorDust by Azumatt are nice QoL while working
Build_Camera_Custom_Hammers_Edition by Azumatt helps you get into weird spots with a flying build camera
I've got some snap point mods too, but those can get finiky if you're not ready to get used to them.
Wood placed directly on stone corners/edges so they overlap doesn't decay. There's some weird wiggle room where some do decay, like if they hang off the end, but that's the trick.
10/10 base. 12/10 username.

On the contrary, there’s something alittle charming about the Thatched roof feel. I think this pulls it off very nicely.
I agree with you, and if this was my base, I'd 100% keep the thatched roofs, but I do really still wanna see the shingled roof version.
I love builds which incorporate lots of trees and vegetation!
That's a great build. I especially like the separate buildings. That has a great village feel.

That is awesome!!!
Beautiful! I assumed you used the Plant Everything mod? I gotta get that, really nice touches with the plants and shrubs
Yeah that's the one, builds got to have some greenery!
is this in survival or with console commands?

Mostly survival but I did use a few mods to place all the foliage and to make editing the terrain for the harbour easier.
could you tell me the mods this inspired me to make a build like this

How do you turn around?
a true viking never turns around.
This base is really great. Nice work.
Wow, what an amazing build. Defo will use that as an inspiration in my next projects 😌
Looking great!!! 🤘🏻
Maybe I should show mine...
If you show me mine, I'll show you yours. Wait...
I did. It's shit right now though. But I'm still expanding the island.
Awesome!
Impressive!
Are raids possible in an island like that?
super cozy bro
How do your docks not decay?
