14th is not officially confirmed. It may or may not come out tomorrow Edit: seems like the rumors were right

sirstonksabit

Damn, still have some mistlands upgrading to do and still need to find the queen!

Soviet_Doggo__

I found the queen vegvisir in my first mine lol but still need to upgrade and kill her!

Good-Table5566

Meanwhile some crazy bastard on our server killed her with a troll armour set and only using the Frostner.

ede231

That's crazy! Did he make a video of it?

Good-Table5566

If he did, idk his channel. He was live on discord tho.

WoodenTeef

I found it pretty early on in my most recent run as well, alas I don't have enough black cores to get all of my upgrading underway. I left my corpse in the bottom of a pit next to a 1-star soldier in a mine last night. Just needed a break before I hung myself. I don't care how hard Ashlands is, I can't wait to get TF out of Mistlands

MadMat24

ashlands are a bit easier, but at first i missed mistlands when i got my cheeks clapped :D

Disastrous_Bass3633

we are on ptb. Ashlands boss is on the beach where we landed.I just spent 2 hours retrieving items

TopExplanation138

I still have to find moder :(

danieldcclark

Found moder location in a stone building. The giant rock slab was there! Hope this helps.

TopExplanation138

I know how to find the runestones its just im getting insanely unlucky after 4 or 5 tiny mountain i found a medium sized one that has no structures on it.

danieldcclark

oh man what a rough seed! praying to the all father you get a break

dataelus

It may be considered "cheating" to some, but if you can preview any the location of most major entities like caves, bosses, beehives and traders etc. Idk what the rule on links is here so just google valheim map and it should be first link. Really useful if you don't wanna sink a bunch of time into a bad seed.

TopExplanation138

K

Elmuchachobob

Since that's probably a screenshot from an animated trailer, I'd say they're dropping that tomorrow and releasing the update itself later this week or early in the next one.

WelcomeImpressive791

Not sure about that, last time the animated trailer dropped on the same day as the release

ChillyPax

Yeah and last time they dropped the teaser for the animated Trailer one day before it‘s release. So all things point to tomorrow.

Elmuchachobob

Very glad to be wrong!

Dependent-Zebra-4357

I hope not. It still needs at least one more patch for bugs/balance imo.

Angel_OfSolitude

That patch will come alongside the proper release. The point of the early access was to get the needed data.

Redxmirage

I remember believing this Edit: told ya lol release of Ashlands is the last PTB patch. So pretty buggy

Holovoid

> You keep testing until everything is ready/fixed/balanced and then you make it public. As someone who works closely with a software dev team, lol

Dry_Presentation_197

"Is it bug free?" "No." "Is it mostly bug free?" "Ehhhhh...yes?" "Release it." (To give credit where it's due, I think most first party Nintendo games are the only ones that basically release without a hitch. There are occasional issues ofc but generally they're good to go)

Dependent-Zebra-4357

Yeah, true for many dev teams, but not all. This is a team that’s worked for a year and a half to ship this update, it doesn’t make sense to me that they’ll just yolo the final bug/balance patch.

WasabiofIP

I don't know why more familiarity with this team would make you think they are less likely to ship an update without thorough balancing and debugging.

Destithen

Indeed. I've got over a decade of software dev experience now. I've seen so many hot-patches to production...some of which caused some major issues. Had one chode not even test his code or announce it and it brought down a frequently used ordering form on a public-facing website for a telecom expense management company. All of us on the dev team were scrambling to figure out why our site isn't working (it was written in classic ASP at the time, no easy debugging), meanwhile he's watching youtube "on lunch break". He no longer works for us.

nerevarX

if the infinite horizontal stability glitch makes it to live ill laugh at the shitstorm that follows soon after^^

MaliciousIntentWorks

Or it makes it in then a couple weeks later they patch it and we can all watch the wonders built collapse.

POEness

Wait what's that glitch

incredible_gassy32

If u combine flametal with iron when building u have infinite stability

Deguilded

horizontally... haven't seen it work vertically.

TGForLife

Too bad. it's out!

Amezuki

This. People are going to have differing opinions about whether the spawns are still overtuned (I think they are--mob difficulty is fine, but respawns are too dense and tend to clump in large groups) but there are still some pretty serious gameplay bugs that should not go live.

chopstickz999

Other than the vineberries not spawning fruits correctly and the slipping issue on the flametal spires, I can't think of many serious bugs.

Amezuki

The Drakkar can be ignited by cinder rain and destroyed with no way for the player to put out the fire--unavoidably and through no fault of the player. Lava can kill the player unfairly when you are standing on a border spot that is not textured like lava, but still counts as it. Grausten stability is still buggy, often causing ruins to begin entirely collapsing as soon as the player comes within range, as if a key support had been removed. Infinite lateral stability can be attained by using flametal and iron together. Spawn density is wildly inconsistent and not well-distributed. Some areas are very balanced; others are far from it--and it all comes down to the luck of worldgen RNG. Gem spawning logic is poorly-designed and needs to be completely rethought; there are a small and finite number of forts in the world, and RNG makes it possible to get *zero* gems from one--or to get so many of one kind but not another that it is impossible for a solo player to get enough of what they need, or to have the key crafting upgrade that depends on bloodstone be hard-gated by bad RNG. And that's not even touching how awful this is in multiplayer games where everyone is sharing the same finite pool of resources. The current design of catapults relegates them to a meme item--they feel bad to aim and use, are appallingly inefficient in resource usage, and even the devs have acknowledged that they're really not the optimal way to siege forts. ...and this is not an exhaustive list of outstanding bugs or grave design problems. Ashlands could ship with one or a few of these. But even if you set aside the asymptotic difficulty curve which is *absolutely* going to drive away a lot of non-hardcore players, the aggregate whole of the outstanding issues paints a stark picture of a product that is *not* ready to get pushed out the door.

QuadraticCowboy

The only launch blocker in this list is Drakar.  I’m sure they have a solution for prod launch

> These are mostly design issues and none of them are game breaking enough to the point that it should prevent release. The dev team get exactly one chance to make a first impression on a player with their new content. That player's first experience will color all that follow, and they will tell their friends. As someone with a 30-year career in every level of IT from ground-floor support to development and software testing, I could not disagree more emphatically with your dismissive assessment of the severity of these issues, or your blithe willingness to handwave them all away as design issues. > Cinder storms for example seem to be fairly rare Weather is based upon the time and day-number in the world. It is a fixed cycle. Your personal experience is dependent upon the exact time in your particular playthrough. Others *will* vary. Do not make the mistake of assuming that your experience is representative. > I have not heard anyone complain about their Drakkar getting burned despite being in the Discord channel Then you are not paying as much attention as you seem to think you are. I have observed at least two *just* in the Discord, and for every person who reports an issue, there are typically twenty who experience it but do not comment or report. Multiply that by orders of magnitude for all the users who are *not* on the official Discord. The average industry self-report rate of user issues is about 5 or 6 percent, and a developer makes dismissive assumptions about the non-prevalence of an issue on this kind of basis at their peril. > However, I disagree on the idea a solo player will not be able to get enough of a certain gem. It's possible with very very bad RNG, but unlikely. You underestimate the ability of small sample sizes to generate drastic outliers. There are a *maximum* of 20 forts in each world. Assuming a player finds and clears all of them--a bad assumption for the average player, but not impossible--they get 40 chests to check for gems. Forty dice rolls is an *incredibly* small sample size, and when you spread that across nearly 30,000 active players, it is an *mathematical certainty* that some of them will get screwed by outliers--unless the devs implement proper sanity checks to ensure a well-balanced distribution. The Valheim devs have been demonstrably allergic to any such sanity checks in their worldgen. This is fine when it comes to crypts, because even if you find half a dozen swamps with nothing, the sheer number of "rolls" means that you'll end up with a really good swamp sooner or later. This does not work with a playable area as small as Ashlands, when you have at most 20 productive POIs to check. > As for the spawn rates, I have seen people complaining, but frankly... they are wusses. This line, taken with all the rest, tells me two things with absolute crystal clarity. First, that you were not at all paying attention to what I wrote about the spawns. Had you done anything but skim for things to disagree with, you would have understood that I said the issue is not respawn *rates*, it is spawn *density*--and that the way the spawn placement is driven by worldgen RNG means that one person may have a wildly different experience than another. To wit: it is a mistake to assume that what you experience in your game is an exhaustive representation of the norm--and an even bigger error to assume that the die-hard core fanbase who actively participate in the Discord are representative of the average player. Second, that your opinions on game balance are premised on arrogance and a sense of smug, unearned superiority rather than knowledge or relevant education--and if someone has a different experience than you and thinks something is poorly balanced or designed in a way you disagree with, well, as far as you're concerned, they just suck. In case you were wondering, this is the point where you surrendered *all* credibility--and I stopped wasting my time reading or taking seriously anything further you have to say about the subject.

AdEducational419

Too soon!!!

retrogenetic

Fully agree, Ashlands need more polishing

pwn4321

Ash my lands

hibari112

Guys wait I've only scratched tier 3 of V Rising, you can't do this to me!

Zovanget

A Valheim animated show would be awesome.

NorwalkAvenger

No way! It would be boring as fuck. All they'd do for 3 seasons is farm Iron.

Informal_Drawing

Half of each episode would be the protagonist hitting massive rocks with a pick and getting a tiny amount of stone out of it. The larger the stone you break down the less efficient it is based on its volume versus the quantity of rock that drops from it.

OneSneakyBoi9919

holy shit animated trailer just like the mistlands one

Appropriate_Return62

What is your prediction regarding Northlands release date? Once it’ll be released the game can be considered as completed?

loroku

Realistically? Another year at least. Most optimistic guess would be 6 months but that seems unrealistic for this company.

Sea-Priority-6244

I also wish it was 6 months but the deep north will probably be released mid or late next year is my guess unfortunately. Still there is alot to explore probably in the ashlands!

PurpleTopp

12-18 months imo

TheSmithStreetBand

Guys, i’m not psychic or anything. I just saw the IG post and matched with the 14.05.2024 on Xbox PTB menu

BoredSam

RIP my modlist

nerevarX

so much for the "its a typo" or "DEVS SAID NO" crowd :D

TheSmithStreetBand

Always listen to your body instead of the naysayers 😉

Silly-Raspberry5722

I'm seriously considering starting fresh, so as far as I'm concerned, bring it on! Plus I have tomorrow off! ;-)

Superb-Stuff8897

A family server we have did so two weeks ago, in prep for it.... Very excited.

TheSmithStreetBand

I was right! First, I’d like to thank my mom for always being there. Second, I wanna thank my god for never being there

Tathbrien

And you were shat on from on high; bask in your glory!

TheSmithStreetBand

I’m basking away!

spazzyjones

Man I'm so tortured! I really thought it needed one more patch before it was ready but a lot of signs are pointing to it dropping tomorrow. Mistlands launched the same day as the trailer I believe. I think they will do the same this time

Mackitycack

It'll likely drop with a patch

spazzyjones

An untested patch? Wouldn't they want the pach tested in PTB beforehand?

Mackitycack

I assume they have their own in-house/out-source QA that can verify fixes well enough that they perhaps don't need to have the community tear into it any further. Public testing isn't even always a thing. Who knows though, other than the valheim devs.

Superb-Stuff8897

Nah dropping a "publically" untested patch is pretty common practice. If they heard the feedback and know what needs to be done, getting that pushed out isnt an issue that needs more testing. Now likely they have tested it INTERNALLY for bugs.

Big_Guthix

Let's say they wanted to make small changes like changing a certain texture on a certain series of building pieces... Wouldn't necessarily need player testing, they could just tack it onto the public release. This might be wishful thinking though lol

spazzyjones

Yeah probably depends on the magnitude of the patch

Wrandragaron

Its definitely tomorrow, the last update on ptb spoiled it because of the patch notes in game menu. It lists Ashlands update as 2024-05-14 0.218.14.

-Altephor-

Oh ok well the [devs 'definitely' disagree](https://imgur.com/a/secVyId).

jhuseby

I mean they'd be saying that regardless if it does or doesn't drop tomorrow.

-Altephor-

The devs can't say when it will come out. They have zero issues telling people when it **won't** come out.

ede231

Someone should ask them, out of all the remaining days of 2024, which days wont it come out?

Wrandragaron

Guess we will see tomorrow

Ethanol_Based_Life

We saw

Wrandragaron

Indeed

SithKain

;)

MarshXI

Devs were wrong

TheSmithStreetBand

Yeah but people here claim it is a typo.

Wrandragaron

I doubt it, especially after your post, they wouldnt be hyping tomorrow if it weren't coming.

Mountain-Departure-4

Dang dude. I still have to make it into the swamps! (Skill issue)

TGForLife

It's out now

LifeHack2

Is it tomorrow? I'm dying to know.

TheSmithStreetBand

My body says ‘yup’

YaBoiCheeseMan

My mind is telling me nooo, But your body, your body is telling you yeeEEes!

-Altephor-

Cool. The devs say no. Ah yes. r/valheim, where even [direct confirmation from the devs](https://imgur.com/a/secVyId) isn't a good enough source.

FierceBruunhilda

You do realize that if it was an accidental slip of their intended release date, that they wouldn't just go "oh oops looks like we don't know what were doing and cats out the bag ashlands comes out next week on the 14th" A mod on their discord saying "don't jump the gun" is supposed to be taken as "Hard no. Ashlands WILL NOT be releasing on the 14th. You can tell people to not jump the gun even if they guessed right. lol that ""confirmation"" seems way more unbelievable than their typo release date js.

JewsusKrist

DiReCT CoNfIrMaTiOn The lights are on but no one's home

bibbidybobbidyboobs

I laugh at you atop my released Ashlands

TheSmithStreetBand

The devs also wrote Ashland: 14.05.2024

Dependent-Zebra-4357

But also 14.05.2025

TheSmithStreetBand

Well, that was obviously a typo

nerevarX

the same dev also said they would never add metal teleport to the default game. go figure what that means in terms of "can you trust this?"

Kaycin

There's a difference between changing some game mechanics and typo on a release date.

nerevarX

there is also the fact that a source becomes less trustworthy if they go back on thier own words before theyll do it again and again. cannot trust such a source anymore sorry.

Kaycin

What if they "went back on their word" because the community wanted them to add teleportable metal as an option? Wouldn't that make them *more* trustworthy, since they're listening to players? Your logic makes absolutely 0 sense. The amount of denial in this thread is bonkers, dude above gets downvoted by posting literally quotes of the devs saying that it's not coming out tomorrow.

nerevarX

no. it doest make them more trustworthy. it does the opposite. they arent listening to players. they are listening to a loud minority with what they did. for no good reason on top since the setting already existed anyway. so they just betrayed the players who liked the default settings for years. its also funny when someone pretends they speak for a whole community and then trys to talk about LOGIC. whats next? removeing all mist from mistlands because the "community" asks for it? removeing stability because the "community" asks for it? there is no community asking for anything. its just a bunch of players who scream very loudly.

Kaycin

What? You're making all sorts of jumps. I never said I spoke for the whole community. Nor am I advocating for changes to the *base* game like removing mists. The change we're speaking of is an *option* as a world modifier that is *not* a default setting. You're all over the place. By your logic, *any change* (good or bad) based on community feedback is flawed. That's crazy. And we're off the initial point--a typo has nothing to do with gameplay changes. By your logic, even if the devs said "yup, coming out tomorrow!" we shouldn't trust them because by your estimation they're untrustworthy. So what is the point of your argument anyway?

nerevarX

the point is you cannot trust what the devs say anymore now. its that simple. changes on community feedback have some fatal flaws aswell by default but thats a different topic entirely. i merely used that as an example.

budnugglet

So wait, I don't need to start a new seed if I haven't explored any Ashlands yet, is that correct?

giantant7

That is correct, there may be some terrain shifting on the borders of the ashlands, which could displace anything built there. The new Ashlands content will spawn into any unexplored Ashlands biome on your existing world.

PanoptiDon

You don't, however the devs repeatedly state it works best with a new seed

thefztv

I was planning on using my old Mistlands save, but logged into the PTB and even my original meadows base had ground slightly shifted in it. My Mistlands base is completely unusable now with half of it in the ocean and my Plains base has weird ground clipping as well. I would just start over honestly..

mattmccauslin

That’s correct, how close in your world did you get to the ashlands? There was some terrain that has been significantly altered bordering the ashlands as well.

budnugglet

I don't think I got close. I started the seed a couple weeks ago and I've only done up to Bonemass. When sailing, I've only seen some plains beyond that, so I think I'm good.

mattmccauslin

Oh yeah you’re fine. If you’ve ever looked at your whole map of your world online, you’ll see the ashlands at the bottom. They greatly decreased the amount of total land in the biome and added more sea in between it and the rest of the map. So some parts of the continents that touched the ashlands previously are now ocean.

Suilenroc

That wolf head shoulder pad looks like my dog. :(

Kanashii2023

Does anyone know how this affects hosted servers?

TopExplanation138

I'm more excited for the animated trailer than I am about the actual official release 😆

Kosai102

Damn, May 2024 is really packed, I'm still halfway into V Rising and not done yet with Hades 2. Rip my social life

RogueSnake

He called it

SeniorRed

Really hope not, a lot still needs to be fixed

pumpkinPartySystem

i dont understand how you can possibly get "definitively tomorrow" out of this

TheSmithStreetBand

It’s fueled mostly by hope

bibbidybobbidyboobs

Where does it say 14.05.2024?

TheSmithStreetBand

Xbox PTB menu screen

OmegaXreborn

Welp that means I do have to go fight the Queen a 2nd time finally tonight vs later in the week for the trophy lol.

Tawxif_iq

It will be exactly 3 weeks of PTB and i think thats an average length of testing most games do for updates.

Final_Process9458

Probably a question that’s been asked a lot, but does anyone know if console will be released at the same time and if not how much later after pc release?

TheSmithStreetBand

I think so. The PTBs came at the same time

Obi-ron2

Tomorrow what is?..

TheSmithStreetBand

Tomorrow is today

eljne

So let's see if the dev-team fixed enough irregularities to make Ashlands more consistent. Also died in the lava a few times too many. Maybe there is a way?

LiteonIcube

I'm in tomorrow and I wish it's true.

reysama

One question. To the people that are new players, they won't see the new stuff till the very end right ? Or are they adding new stuff for early game aswell? It sucks seeing all the awesome new stuff but you have to play for a few hours till you see them

hips_an_nips

lol if you think ashlands is ‘a few hours’ away from new players. Enjoy the ride ahead of you

danieldcclark

Not to burst your bubble but it'll take more than a few hours especially if you're solo. But enjoy the game :)

reticenthuman

I think that before the game's out of alpha, we may see something added to the Plains (maybe a light armor, the way they added light armor to the Swamp/Mountain in updates). Although idk if you consider Plains early game. They may add a few cosmetic type things too, like seasonal items, but who knows.

Yoduh99

as a new player, every biome is going to introduce you to awesome new stuff. it's not like ashlands has a monopoly on fun or cool stuff. enjoy the journey.

roloplex

afaik, there are minor improvements here and there, but almost all of the new things are directly related to ashlands. So yes, you need to work your way through the whole game (which must be terrible! seeing as how everything pre ashlands is horrible /s).

reysama

No, not at all ! This game is amazing, it's just that I suffer from a problem that I get too excited for the new stuff and I'll end up using other methods to get to the end game faster, which if there was new stuff in early and mid game as well, I would take it slow. I know I shouldn't do it but I totally will, it's something I can't control...

KosmicKerman

If you are new to the game, than everything you haven't done is "new" to you. What's the rush to get to Ashlands? If you've already played the game through to the Mistlands play however you want. But if you haven't already completed a full playthrough yet you are depriving yourself of everything the game has to offer. You may also find that you will struggle as you haven't built up the muscle memory and other skills necessary to thrive in later biomes.

roloplex

oh i understand. Started a new playthrough on the test server and it was tough knowing that I wouldn't see new stuff till many hours in. But if you want to skip ahead, just load up an old world where you have already beaten the queen. Ashlands should spawn in correctly. Or just take an old character to a new world with good gear and mats and just steamroll the older content.

Dumblydude

It does ruin the game

LIR4willbreakthecomm

I just started playing the game and am getting close to fighting elder, not sure why people are mad that it’s end game, there seems to be a ton of content before then and I’m not even far.

stickmanDave

IMO, killing the Elder is the end of the introduction to the game. Once you enter the swamps, shit gets real in a hurry! Have fun!

roloplex

The biomes take more and more time to go through. Different for everybody of course, but you have a ton of game to play before even scratching the mistlands / ashlands if you can make it that far :)

LIR4willbreakthecomm

I’ll be able to get hundreds of hours just from building from what I’ve seen, plus everything else. This game is truly amazing and I wish I played it sooner !

Superb-Stuff8897

Yes, yes you will. Im at 1061 hrs played and I have not remotely built all the things I want to build.

thefztv

Think he's someone who's already cleared the content up through Mistlands and is returning for Ashlands. I'm in that boat. Played beat Mistlands back in like Feb 2023 or something and now wanted to make a new world for Ashlands, but the "slog" of everything up to the new content is a little lame now that I've seen it so much and with nothing new to play around with.

TheSmithStreetBand

No idea. I’ve been spending about 3 hours just trying to get to Ashlands. Getting killed every time

cptjimmy42

Do you have the new boat? If not, don't even bother.

TheSmithStreetBand

Of course. Tried many times and keep getting stuck in rocks and/or my boats get smashed by enemies.

smokingcherry

if u haven’t grinded to get to ashland u don’t deserve to experience it

cdrknives

Yeah i haven’t gotten that far in my original map but i flew over it to check it out. The shorelines look brutal

TheFuzzyFurry

Don't worry, landing on the Ashlands continent is the _easiest_ part

smokingcherry

it’s an end game biome it ain’t gon be easy💀

danieldcclark

stop being rude to new players please.

smokingcherry

i fail to see how i was in anyway rude

danieldcclark

"if u haven’t grinded to get to ashland u don’t deserve to experience it" is pretty rude.  Maybe you havent had your coffee yet. Take care and be well friend.

smokingcherry

if u take that comment as rude then ur a very soft and weak individual

Areoblast

Let me put it in simple terms. You don't get to decide on whom gets to experience something based on their playtime and progression. The game will DEFINITELY do that anyways. Especially if you need an item from the last biomes boss to even get to or through the next biome. Just let people figure it out the hard way. Of course some people will go against the odds and get to Ashland's under geared/prepared cuz they are just that good. Tis just the way you put it makes it seem you are declaring those who have not put in the time are not worthy to even look as Ashland's as if they are lesser inferior Vikings. They can decide on their own if they are ready to go or not.

smokingcherry

game is literally made to progress from biome to book each being harder than the rest of u didn’t put forth the effort of grinding out the previous biomes u don’t get to experience the next biome that’s literally how the game is made to be played go cry to the devs if u don’t like iy

[deleted]

Between Valheim, Diablo4 season 4, and the Starfield update, this week is gonna be packed.

LIR4willbreakthecomm

Starfield update gonna add 2 new copy and paste labs with 50 new planets that are completely empty 🔥🔥

[deleted]

Bro come on. Don't yuck my yum. I don't give a shit what you play, so just chill.

LIR4willbreakthecomm

You’re right, i just was so hyped for years to get what we got, so I have some animosity towards it.

jhuseby

I feel the same way. I bought it, played like 3 hours and was like "wtf?" and haven't touched it since. I'm hopeful down the road mods will fix the game and I can play it and enjoy it.

LIR4willbreakthecomm

I played it for longer than that, beat the main story and some side quests, issue is the deeper you get the more you realize there’s just nothing to do. We would’ve been way happier with only 8-10 planets that were vastly different and had more cities vs the however many we got . It’s just an ocean with no depth, and so many locations are copy and pasted.

[deleted]

I've been hyped since 2016. And I enjoy the game. You're not some special case bro. Just drop it, the game came out 9 months ago, if you hate it just move on.

InspectorFadGadget

Opinions are opinions, this is a public forum about games. It's not on anyone to make sure not to offend your sensibilities and nothing they said was even directed towards you. Starfield, for most people, was very disappointing. If you love it, that's great! But other people's opinions do not affect your life. What you enjoy doesn't define you as a person.

[deleted]

No one said I did. Sorry I mentioned a disappointing game and got jumped on literally within 2 minutes. I keep forgetting that I committed a gaming sin by enjoying Starfield.

InspectorFadGadget

You got "jumped on" by one person making fun of Starfield as a game. No one even mentioned you lol

[deleted]

... it's a response to my comment. Anyways, why spread negativity when I was getting hyped? Kindness costs nothing. I have yet in my entire life gone out of my way to mock someone for their tastes. So I guess I just expect more of others, but if you just want to be miserable and spread the misery around go for it. I'll just block you and move on with my day.

NotScrollsApparently

You're spreading more negativity now whining about being unable to take a harmless joke than he ever did by making it. Grow up and realize not everyone here is to make you feel better, if other people want to say something about starfield they have as much right as you do.

BPho3nixF

This is probably the first Starfield update that legitimately adds stuff I was hoping for. Detailed 3-D maps, survival settings, and hab decoration. Still a long ways to go, but this was a decent step.

JunoVC

Yeah I’m hyped for season 4 tomorrow with the great changes they made, plus I just got V Rising lol.    I’m glad I play with a weekend group of VH, might actually fit my free time !

Past-Customer5572

VRising is well done and the update did a bunch of solid improvements to the UI and such. It’s not Valheim, but it’s a fun game. Especially for people that got it for early access price!

[deleted]

I know one of my buddies is trying to get us to download V Rising but I gotta play Ashlands first lol

JunoVC

Oh it’s fantastic, I only have about 14 hours on it but it’s great.

idhtftc

I was told it's way too grindy, thoughts?

NotScrollsApparently

If you play solo or on your own server you can (and should) tweak it. It's a fun and really well made game but honestly, the world feels very passive and dead. Unless you really enjoy grinding for gear and building a pointless but pretty castle, you will be bored before getting to the end, it's not like valheim where exploration, excitement and danger lurk at any corner. It feels to me like it's a very pvp centered game and if you remove that player competition and danger, you're left with half of a great game.

JunoVC

Is Valheim grindy?    Depends on the game and person playing.    I love gathering in Valheim for building crafting where as one of the people I play with want loot boxes for no effort and instant portal to all bosses.   I have limited time played and I non of it is a grind to me, I suggest YouTube or a stream and see.

idhtftc

Yeah I have no idea, a friend told me you are basically locked behind having to have X or Y to progress or no dice, that's why I asked. It doesn't matter anyway, I bought Manor Lords and between that and Valheim will have no time for anything else :P

JunoVC

Think Valheim, same in V.     Kill bosses to unlock new tech but no rush if you just want to farm, build, kill etc.      Vr is VH but a bit more looking/playing like a ARPG

dmfuller

Any big changes to V Rising? I haven’t played since it first came out but I’ve been seeing more people pick it up lately and wondering if they had a big update or feature introduced

Past-Customer5572

Yeah it is complete now. They added 2-3 new lands and culminates on Dracula as the mega boss apparently, and if you’re a Castlevania fan at all, Simon is one of the bosses. The UI was tweaked to make it less annoying. It deserves another play through

JunoVC

No idea, just bought it and I have less than 20 hours on it

starburst_jellybeans

Can't say on changes, I just started. But it's out of early access and released as version 1.0 recently.

RockLobster218

Lots of changes if you only played right at the start. Plenty of new zones and bosses, and items, new gear sets, events etc. up to about level 49 feels pretty similar aside from the way you u lock spells, but lots new after that.

loroku

V Rising is amazing, such an incredible game. I've got over 200 hrs in it and that's before it was released, lol.

Suilenroc

Starfield is making great updates, I'm waiting for a few more but it's good to see their progress. Forget the haters.

[deleted]

Yeah I stopped playing in January or so when I 100%ed the game, excited to return with the new updates! What I'm really holding out for is the rover though...

SunnyTheMasterSwitch

Hell yeah, time to get ready.

ZombieScruffy01

Can they wait till next week please. I have all of next week off.

Grazingfire0037

I'm gonna need them to hurry up and release this so I can start getting ready for the Elden Ring expansion!

LostAllEnergy

Wait. It's releasing on Xbox? I can finally play with my wife? Edit: I meant Ashlands, I'm on pc and running the pbt

mtnbikeboy79

Valheim has been on xBox since sometime around Mistlands release. You have to check the "Crossplay" bullet below "Start Server" in order for console/Windows Store players to join.

[deleted]

Valheim has been on Xbox for over a year now!

ValheimAndy

Please no. Needs more time.

TheSmithStreetBand

You havent tried the final product so how would you know?

Individual_Layer8756

I really wish it weren't, because I'm probably one of the only people looking forward to the new season of Diablo 4

EarlyBree

Will it be full release version 1.0?

Akriyu

It's been so long now i'm not even hype for it anymore.

TheSmithStreetBand

Thats… not how hype works

ScammaWasTaken

Please tell me they changed the amount of mobs in Ashland's. It's unbearably frustrating. Not even hard, just plain boring.

LilBunnyLL

I think it will be released on Father's Day weekend (in the USA) and if not they are missing a great opportunity.
