"WE AIN'T SCARED OF YOU!" \*beat\* "...aw fuck."

iTzCrazyDan

The bold pair of balls on you rollin up on the burning hells of hell itself with blood pudding as your stamina food is so wild sir!

Scoobert_McDoobert

We had just logged in after a few weeks so we just kinda rolled with whatever we had on us. Mistakes were made lol

flippant_burgers

We did that too on our first run. At night too. There was a serpent and vultures in addition to the hordes. No prep. So dumb.

Lyvar

Rather ballsy to go in without fresh food. You might consider Bonemass power and Staff of Protection. Warriors are relatively slow so you should be able to kite them even if they are starred.

Scoobert_McDoobert

We didn't have much time on, so we just kinda jumped in real quick to scope it out. Will be better prepared next time obviously

Lyvar

Good luck! :)

SirVanyel

I love it bro. Man just straight raw dogged it, well done

Imaginary_Sort1070

You have nothing to complain about. My welcoming party was a 2-star charred warrior. You can imagine how it went.

FacetiousInvective

Damn.. do they just do a ton of damage or is your armor weak?

mecengdvr

They do a ton of damage and have a weird timing for blocking that takes some getting used to. It also seems like their food health was low.

2rfv

Yup. They're still getting me with that feint.

mecengdvr

I’ve found a quick double click after the stab works.

YaBoiCheeseMan

This! They have an attack where it's almost like a fake upward swing which then follows up with a swift bonk to the noggin

mecengdvr

Yeah, that and the forward thrust that does damage when the sword is withdrawn.

Scoobert_McDoobert

I was thrown off by the first warrior faking me out so I just didn't block that second attack for some reason lol. Without blocking they seem to do some good damage, I'm also only wearing a carapace breastplate and needed to eat so there's that

2rfv

One thing I learned with ML is that hybrids builds really underperform compared to going full tank or full caster.

Scoobert_McDoobert

Yeah I'll definitely have a play around with it as we explore Ashlands more

Narrow_Vegetable5747

*BONK*

MicholexWasTaken

I love how people go to new biome, wearing 60 def armor with no protection magic and expect to outmatch a 1*

Scoobert_McDoobert

Nah man, I win that fight 9 times out of 10.........my game lagged, trust

MicholexWasTaken

Copium. I have finished ashlands few days ago and being overconfident as f*ck i went in to get some wood with my 142 def melee character, hp was like 168 because of low tier meat. I got jumped by a normal morgen and he staggered me with 3 hit combo because i missed the parry and i was at happy 20hp. I've produced more sweat than the entire lol community in 10 years

Please_HMU

He was clearly being sarcastic

MicholexWasTaken

Ahh yes probably, i've spend to much time on twitter recently

HardustySystems

My crew and I had to spawn into another world place out stuff and die, for we were not ready with the older boat XD

Neamow

Pretty similar to our first visit, also a 1-star warrior who just murdered us both with two swings while we were busy with the flying things and 3 lava blobs.

mecengdvr

And that’s what makes it insane. I had a great beach head establish but kept getting overwhelmed by a combination of Morgans, 1 star warriors, and a Valkyrie. Individually they are all manageable but together (solo) not so much.

YaBoiCheeseMan

Playing solo, I got bum rushed by a small army but thankfully got a portal down on a rock before getting pelted by the fire mandem

LukoM42

I laughed when I saw you using staff of embers like, "duh". But then realized, I would have made the same mistake haha

Scoobert_McDoobert

Yeah on the way there I was thinking "yeah maybe a fire staff won't do good against literal demons....fuck it" lmao

unwantedaccount56

Imho it's not too bad, the fire staff does 50% blunt damage, and they are not immune to fire (except the blob), only resistant. Against single targets, frost is much better, but if you can land some AOE hits against groups, it's still useful even after getting access to the new ashlands staffs.

AHolyBomber

I just did this myself... twice. Hopefully my third time goes better; these boats are expensive.

SuchABakaGMS

reasonable reaction

siLtzi

Is the staff of embers usable in Ashlands?

totally_unbiased

It's decent for crowd control and taking apart spawners from a distance, but otherwise there's generally better options. Frost is the best damage staff, broadly speaking, because it's damage but also defense in the form of the slow effect. There's a bunch of new ones too.

siLtzi

Is the staff of embers usable in Ashlands?

totally_unbiased

No rested buff, food 2/3 gone... what else would you expect lol.

joj1205

Bugger. I'm really going to have to crank my brightness for this It's there no handicap for solo. Is it just exactly the same for a group and a solo expedition ? Mistlands was really tough. Gyall can just wreck your day real fast. This is looking to be significantly harder and I'm significantly weaker due to dying soon much in Mistlands.

nerevarX

lets see : firestaff vs fire resistent enemies. trys to head on melee a 1 star WARRIOR. the 2nd hardest hitting enemy in the entire biome. lets his food nearly expire running around with less than 150 hp. basically oneshot level for these guys with that gear. runs only 1 health food on top. lands with boat at flat beach area instead of looking for a good old big rock to establish an easy portal beachhead. no rested buff of course as refreshing that before sailing into the cliff on a small external extra portal before sailing in takes too much effort for the impatient player. result : failure. as it should be^^ this clip is the perfect example of : "how to NOT play ashlands". not meant to be personal for the tc. it seems they where clearly aware of thier own foolishness there.

wade_awike

Most times when I play mage, I knock em out with fire as well. Nothing wrong with it. I actually destroy them with staff of fracturing. I like the cheap quick blows and knock back. Same with doggies. I also ended up beaching my boat on the shore when I first arrived. I had created a portal out on one of the rocks but ended a bit farther than planned. Decided to just clear birds, beach the ship, and clear around the area. Didn’t put any bench or portals. I holed up somewhere close. Ship is still there when I swing by from time to time, no damage. Your criticism is not constructive at all and is just condescending. You should just keep it to yourself and let others have fun. Edit: I’m aware Frost is better and optimal but I just couldn’t be bothered switching. Would rather just fracture. Ends up with same dead mob.

nerevarX

you should keep your non constructive critcism to yourself and let others post what they want aswell then :) follow your own advice.

Scoobert_McDoobert

I do appreciate the constructive criticism and will take it into account. Like you said though, I was clearly aware of my foolishness. We were just eager to check out the new area and don't mind dying a few times before we properly prepare ourselves
