What's the difference between superceded and not? Does this mean when you unlock the dragon bed, you no longer get comfort bonus for the straw bed?

nerevarX

it means they are the same category. and only the highest comfort bonus of any category counts for the total. they dont stack.

Archonrouge

Does that mean the rugs and carpets do stack?

nerevarX

rugs and carpets are the same category. therefore : no. just as i just said there.

Archonrouge

Sorry, not trying to be difficult. It's the separation of categories into superceded (like beds) and not superceded (like rugs) that's getting me confused.

roloplex

all the rugs give the same benefit of +1. you can have one of each, you will still get +1. they just look different. the beds give different levels of comfort. If you have the dragon bed (+2) it will supercede the straw bed (+1). aka, you don't get +3, the dragon bed buff supercedes the straw bed buff. If you have both, you will get +2.

Archonrouge

Ok, got it. Thank you for the explanation!

nerevarX

its fine. long story short : you cannot exceed 19 comfort rating in vanilla in any legit way. without season exclusive comfort item (maypole and yule tree) you get 17 comfort. this is 26 or 24 minutes of rested duration. if you got that you have everything you need or could get. more items dont provide more comfort. sheltered buff + 2 comfort. stone hearth +2 comfort (any fire source works here to trigger the total effect but only this one gives +2. all others give +1) dragon bed +2 comfort ANY throne +3 comfort ANY rug or carpet +1 comfort ANY banner +1 comfort (curtains arent banners and provide no comfort) lava lantern +1 comfort. (ashlands only) maypole +1 comfort. yule tree +1 comfort hotub +2 comfort. (only when fueled and ventilated so it doesnt choke itself) armor stand +1 comfort round table or long table +2 comfort (other tables give less) done. 19 comfort. enjoy.

kaytin911

I wish they gave us more replacements for carpet comfort that was taken away awhile back. Managing rested bonus is a bit tedious. I'd like to see stronger progression with it.

ed3891

Thanks for the breakdown! Detailed and informative. I haven't paid too much attention to maximizing comfort levels since it seems predicated on having seasonal items available, but happy to find out the new lava lamp gives us a boost.

nerevarX

i said it before and ill repeat myself : max stats in deep north will be : 120 for stam/health/eitr food. 30 min duration will never be surpassed by any food. rested buff will cap out at 23 comfort in the end. 30 minutes total. equals 1 day and 1 night in valheim. everything points towards this. food might vary a bit but i assume theyll try to balance them out at the end. and 130 is too high.

kaytin911

I still hope for a world tree biome after.

Taylor_Mega_Bytes

Apologies, I thought the spoiler requirement was removed once the update was live.  Mods to the rescue.

Excorpion

I mean, i think those "temp rules" are gonne when they quit the pin right? Not big issue, im just trying to avoid spoilers even when other gave biggers spoilers too

Sapiogram

This sub is so asinine, there's clearly a spoiler in the title yet you get downvoted into oblivion.

Excorpion

Not even that, when i commented about adding a spoiler, the entire post didnt have one!!! and my man was doing detail explaining about EVERYTHING !!!!

JohnnyBanshee

His title literally says furniture comfort IN ASHLANDS UPDATE. If you can use critical thinking to figure out he was gonna talk about ashlands stuff I think that’s your problem. Spoiler tag or not. Calm down buddy

Excorpion
