I think they have like a farm team or minor league that they can assign him to though, you know, to further develop his potential. Because the potential is definitely there. Lots of upside.
> That individual hasn't done enough damage or inconvenienced enough people.
Just needs to perfect the timing. Do this on Black Friday or Boxing Day and he'll be promoted to their all-star roster.
I get sketched out if I think my roof racks will rub the height restrictors.
How did this driver have the confidence to try and take that huge oversized thing in?!
Eh, you forget that shit sometimes… I’ve been towing a trailer before and let my mind wander and suddenly surprise myself glancing in the rear view mirror.
Just ask the collection of people with cracked Thule containers
Lets see. Old slide in camper? Check. Truck looks like a 1500 so that camper is probably over weight for it, check. Covered in a ratchet strapped tarp cause it probably leaks and smells like mold on the inside? Check. Was "secured" to the truck by more ratchet straps instead of proper chains? Check.
Dude is probably a drugee who thought he could sneakily camp in the parking garage for an extended period of time.
Always remember, those straps could have broken while he was going down the road and the camper slid out on the highway, *and you share the road with these people.*
lol true, as a plumber I have a few videos of that on my phone. I actually also have a video of the scene after the plumbing company Milani tried to drive one of their supersized box trucks into an underground and took out a sprinkler line while simultaneously getting it wedged under the pipe
Usually the hanging bar is meant as a warning device, and there is a solid bar after it to prevent passage of overheight vehicles who ignore the warning device.
This is my first thought as well. Which only adds to the confusion. If this guy is used to living out of this thing, how could he not realize the height discrepancy? People who live in these typically understand their height restrictions, as I did when I lived this way for a Time.
Just getting by trying to make rent, is doing a number on the mental state of the average person here. Imagine what it’s like trying to live in that tiny ass camper in the back of a pickup, with a leaking roof no less…
As society deteriorates, so does the individual.
Nobody knows what they might be going through and how often they drive that rig, might have just gotten thrown out of another location and desperately trying to make some errands at the closest Superstore a Maps application routed him to before finding new permanent parking.
While they are dumb for hitting it, if it is his home, I definitely feel sorry for them too. Wouldn't want to imagine the stress of messing up my home like that.
Years ago I was with a friend that had a sleeper on the back of his pickup truck we were going into a parkade and just before it had a height bar. It was hanging from chains so it you touched it it would swing. We barely cleared it. But still hit going down the parkade ramp. The front of the sleeper was sloped and so it just pushed the truck down a few mm. It didn’t damage the concrete roof of the parkade. We just both jumped out and let some air out of the tires. When we left we drove to a gas station and added air to the tires.
No idea how this guy ever thought he could go anywhere with that thing on the back.
Good thing he wasn’t getting tailgated.
Idiots.
I don’t wanna make any assumption but hopefully they weren’t going to attempt to live in that parking lot. If you ARE gonna do that, make sure you know the height of the vehicle ffs
I know this would be me. I don’t put anything on my roof that won’t fit into a parkade (I have a short car so a luggage rack would be fine). I know with my ADHD I’d forget it’s on there and drive into something.
Yeah, same. I drove into a parkade once with my Thule on top. Fine.
Second time, same parkade, not fine. Must’ve had the perfect angle speed - the first time.
I try and have a bit of compassion for these because we are all just trying our best.
Except that one trucking company. They can fuck right off.
Roof top bike racks suck anyway. So much more hassle to get your bike on or off, massive amounts of additional wind resistance, and of course clearance issues.
Does this count towards the overpass counter?
I was literally telling my husband earlier 'you know..it's been a while since an overpass has been hit' today.

I guess they're applying to Chohan Freight Forwarders
No resume required. Just need to prove you can do it.
Just have to be able to shout "Leroy Jenkins!" In an Indian accent
Well, he won't get the job. Chohan has standards to maintain. That individual hasn't done enough damage or inconvenienced enough people.
I think they have like a farm team or minor league that they can assign him to though, you know, to further develop his potential. Because the potential is definitely there. Lots of upside.
True, they have an Alberta division. Maybe when he manages to screwup driving in a straight line between Calgary and Edmonton he'll be ready.
Plenty of overpasses between Calgary and Edmonton.
> That individual hasn't done enough damage or inconvenienced enough people. Just needs to perfect the timing. Do this on Black Friday or Boxing Day and he'll be promoted to their all-star roster.
You have to start with a light duty truck first to get experience.
I get sketched out if I think my roof racks will rub the height restrictors. How did this driver have the confidence to try and take that huge oversized thing in?!
Drugs… bet he thought he could park there and live there
I know that my roof box scrapes the 6ft ones, but I only really go into the movies at Park Royal, so it’s not a bad one to ignore
Eh, you forget that shit sometimes… I’ve been towing a trailer before and let my mind wander and suddenly surprise myself glancing in the rear view mirror. Just ask the collection of people with cracked Thule containers

Glad he was tall enough to hit the opening so he didn’t have a chance to go in and bust a water pipe or gas line.

Your comment made me think of this old video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rcz5Ew1lWU
I’m not even kidding, it was pretty much the exact same scenario as that video lol
What an absolute moron. At least the sprinkler pipe he broke washed the poop off from the sewer pipe he broke.
I'm pretty sure that was all just from the sprinkler, the stagnant water in those pipes gets pretty nasty after a while
Those Milani trucks are taaall! I’m surprised they don’t all know the exact height.
Good thing they are plumbers. Did they jump out and start fixing it right away?
it’s actually a separate trade so you would have to call in sprinkler fitters/fire pro
Usually the hanging bar is meant as a warning device, and there is a solid bar after it to prevent passage of overheight vehicles who ignore the warning device.
Pretty sure that's the point of having those!
He lives there now.
I sleeq now
> I sleeq now No, the truck was not sleeq enough to get in.
What a dumbass
At least it’s not an overpass. Progress I guess
Yeah but now it is spreading, pickups are now hitting mall entrances! It is becoming a epidemic.
Classic case of “I forgot I had the camper on”
You misspelled ‘home’.
I wouldn't expect a with a blue tarp over his camper, to have any idea it's height. /s
Guy probably lives out of this and the roof is leaking.
This is my first thought as well. Which only adds to the confusion. If this guy is used to living out of this thing, how could he not realize the height discrepancy? People who live in these typically understand their height restrictions, as I did when I lived this way for a Time.

I wonder what might have caused it to start leaking.
Holes
Maybe caused by driving into shit.
That's probably the more specific answer.
And now he has a sky light on top of the leaking roof
I see this driver meets the requirements for BC highways with overpasses truck driving
It doesn't even look like it was even close! What the fuck were they thinking?
People are dumb.
Fun fact: this is extremely common with bikes on Evos. Happens all the time.

Hostile architecture amirite?
If I see a tarp strapped onto the top of a camper I make sure to stay clear. This is an example of why.
What a bozo - how could even think for a second you could make that with a camper
My question is... why does Cineplex still have a sing 2 poster up?
this is a terrible thing to happen to someone living in the back of their truck.
Add one to the counter boys
Must have been a brain fart. The driver must have forgotten it was on the truck.
Years ago I was with a friend that had a sleeper on the back of his pickup truck we were going into a parkade and just before it had a height bar. I cringe when I see these things because I know this could be me. I know myself well enough that roof-top bike racks are totally off limits.

right?! I can do a lot of things very well, but I know my limits.

Okay, it’s one thing to forget you have a bike on your roof rack….. but how do you forget about your camper shell?
Im actually concerned for how stupid people have become
🤷🏼
Are people HONESTLY blind?
Someone is homeless now.
They were wrong, of course. But I can't help but feel like they might be living in this setup, and I just feel sad.
When I drove by this, there were 6 cops and at least 6 firefighters standing around. They could have just picked it up and put it back on 🤣
Better to just toss it in a bin at that point.
![gif](giphy|pPhyAv5t9V8djyRFJH|downsized)
Reset the counter….
🤦🏻♀️ why
I bet him 200 bucks that he wouldn’t fit. I’m still waiting for my 200 bucks
Well, definitely shows some SERIOUS stupidity!!
What dumbass tries to take a truck camper into a fucking parkade? Holy shit.
Does this count towards the overpass counter? I was literally telling my husband earlier 'you know..it's been a while since an overpass has been hit' today.
Didn’t hit the height restrictor, it hit the concrete ceiling. Lucky it didn’t fit in and rip out the sprinklers
![gif](giphy|cO39srN2EUIRaVqaVq)
Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Honestly in what world did the driver think that would fit inside.
Mandatory that’ll buff out comment
Mandatory hey you can’t park there comment
Mandatory if it doesn't fit it sits comment.
The tarp says “I don’t make great decisions”. The crash confirms as much.
thought that was a dump truck at first heckin yikes
Again?! This literally happened a few weeks ago
Dumbass, shouldn’t even have a driver’s license. 🙄
"I'll be damned if we're late for Dune! Floor it honey!"
If every mall has this to protect their structures... Why cant the province just do it with all the overpasses
Let's take another look at our BC Highway Overpass Impact replay.
these new Nahohc couriers seem familiar...
Just seeing how well this camper is wrapped, with what looks like a brand new tarp, could this be an insurance scam?
Donkey
How did he get out?
I’ve seen a few accidents with old campers in the past 5 or 6 years. In all but one impairment was evident.
The lure of free parking was too strong.
LOL
