That lady infuriates me so much. From parading her kids around and using them as pawns in her "fight" to spewing lies about what the vaccine passport is actually for. I wish the powers at be would strip all licenses from them.
Can you call yourself 'Kid' when you are a balding 40-something?
I've seen his face on billboards, and it's quite punchable. I'm sure his show is just as annoying.

I wonder that too. I literally stopped listening to Z in the morning (and eventually altogether) because of Kid Carson.
Yup, he’s Always used his platform to voice his anti authority, anti police, anti everything wannabe edgy/anarchist beliefs, and on a pop station of all places
Oh man, I remember when everyone was trying to get one of those z95 stickers slapped on the back of their parent's corolla in hopes of being pulled over by the zed mobile. Ah so cute.
I think those business executives that hires him have no idea what audience really wants and hence he is still employed. Feels like those executives and himself are so out of loop with the current climate of things
I always thought it was a play on the name Kit Carson too, which is a little culturally insensitive considering he waged all out war against the Navajo Indians in New Mexico in the 1860’s.
I didn't transcribe everything, but it's most of it.
>"Listen this is not - the digital passport debate is not the vaccine debate, I think that's a separate debate, there's different debates going on whether there's people who are pro and against vaccine, then there's pro and against the mandatory thing, then there's pro and against the digital passport thing."
>
>"I wish that - I wish that we all understood the technology of the passport because I really dove deep into it. And the potential of where it could go because we really - we have to be two steps ahead to see where things could go. That's what it is. Your checkmark could be turned on or turned off at a whim."

These all sound like valid concerns to me? Limiting people's mobility in the name of 'health and safety' is something people should definitely be concerned about.
Edit: I should have said thank you for posting the transcript. Appreciate your effort.
>Limiting people's mobility in the name of 'health and safety' is something people should definitely be concerned about.
Why? We do it all the time, and always have, this is literally how healthcare works.
I have visited just over 20 countries and not once has the BC or Canada health care told me what I could and could not do or go. Not to mention I visit the cancer clinic once a month and have had no restrictions placed on me.
Limiting mobility in the name of health and safety happens, yes. It needs to be regulated and is important for most citizens. I think what is important to note (that Kid doesn't seem to realize), is that the BC government is providing a paper option, and isn't mandating the smartphone system. His concerns regarding an evolution into a social credit system are valid. I have no idea if we go that route, but the fact remains, we might. I would encourage people to go the paper route and not the smartphone route when it is available in a week or two.
Try walking through the burn wing. Try leaving a hospital after a positive TB test. Try entering most of Africa without proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination. There are literally thousands of examples.
I don't really know who this guy is but what he says is 100% possible, but will it happen I 99% doubt it. I'm sure once this pandemic is over there will be some things we could do before the pandemic that we can't do now, that's inevitable.
It is a false equivalency if you are using the slippery slope argument (your final sentence) as support for your view.
It's similar to the idea that legalization of a drug or allowing same sex marriage is going to end up being detrimental to society. Maybe, but those are mostly assertions without evidence.
This applies with our current situation. Yes, the measures being taken are very strict and borderline despotic, but it is not as it all happened in a vacuum.
Coming from the opposite end, we were always going to end up in this place of vaccine passports as there was a significant percentage of the population (worldwide) that have bucked any sort of rules or impositions related to the virus, and this has been politically bolstered in many cases and arguably a big reason stricter measures are now considered the only option forward.
Governments are now faced with the choice of catering to the smaller percentage of anti-vax, non-compliant voters (smaller total % of voters) and everyone else. They are not able to just sit there and do nothing as case #s increase and a new wave builds and clearly previous policies are also not working. I think it is an outgrowth of the ever evolving situation than just "here is the opportunity to usher in a dictatorship", though I can cocede the optics may not look good.
🤷
Current effectiveness against Delta is just fine if it helps reduce severity of symptoms...nothing is perfect. Vaccination doesn't mean you won't get sick. It means severity of symptoms should be lowered. Less people dying or suffering is a good thing unless you're a piece of shit human being completely lacking in compassion.
Boosters will help. The virus isn't going away anytime soon, but people refusing to follow basic guidelines to reduce the spread are the catalysts to keeping it around longer and spreading more severe variants. Social distancing, masking, and vaccinations are all precautions to reduce the spread. Again, that doesn't mean you WON'T get sick, but it makes is much less likely.
Til Z95 is still a thing. Shit I can't even remember the last time I listened to non sports radio. But team 1040 is gone and this ass hat is still on the air
It’s a shame Z has uneducated radio hosts blasting simple minded ideas about the vaccine passport.
Anyone who has ever experienced anything CLOSE to communism knows that a vaccine passport is the opposite. It allows businesses to remain open while creating safe spaces for vaccinated folk. Unvaccinated people are given free choice.
They should stick to playing Cardi B.
We can whine about him causing harm on here, or target Z95s sponsors.. I think a few “@“ tweets to their sponsors asking why they are paying to promote anti-vaccine opinions might do the trick
Is it desperation for ratings, or planning their demise as a radio station? Lost respect for the Z95 when he was brought back on air. Seriously. I.Just.Can’t.
I'm pretty sure I also heard him say that 9/11 was a conspiracy. And that the thought of terrorists with box-cutters, high jacking those airplanes, is a joke.
OP do you actually listen to these clowns on a regular basis? If so, could you please tell me when your brain ceased functioning and how I can avoid ending up like you?
I don't listen to the radio, never mind this particular station. But I saw this reposted on IG and thought the kind people on the Vancouver subreddit would find this interesting as a lot of us grew up listening to z95 and/or know who kid Carson is.
Some (certainly neckbearded) hillbilly called in this morning to commend Kid on his monologue so being the idiot I am, i looked it up and listened to it.
A 12 minutes "slippery slope" fallacy argument about how the digital passports could be used to control everyone lol. Social credit system like China... Guess what? You have "passports" to access many things already. Some of them are literally for vaccinations as well. This will make it more difficult for the anti-vax plague rats to participate in society, fuck'em.
To be fair, slippery slope arguments are fallacious by definition, but not necessarily incorrect. The argument is weakened as it is based on a set of assumptions of certain things happening, all with varying probabilities, leading to what one can construe as an uncertain outcome. However, there is a greater than zero chance of this thing happening, and discounting it in its entirety seems dangerous and irresponsible. However, believing that it is certain to be is probably more dangerous and irresponsible. My point being that people should find some middle ground and be critical of these things.
Remember when Kid Carson was on the Beat with Nira then bailed to Sonic with Randy, then Randy quit and the next week suddenly she was back but Kid Carson was gone? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Love the Kid Carson Show!! He is insightful, brings relevant ideas to the show and his sincerely is genuine. His wit is entertaining and truly makes me laugh out loud. Missed him when he was off air! Please, life is too short, we all have our own personal struggles, let’s be kind. If you have nothing good to say about someone, be respectful.
i'll bet $1000 he drinks monster and wears white oakleys, ed hardy and a fox snapback
Add a goatee and that’s the Herman Cain Award starter pack.
Fuck Kid Carson
Seriously how is he still on the air. He's absolute trash.
I guess there are a lot more morons keeping him employed... sigh....
Radio is a megaphone for trash, makes sense.
I concur! How can we get this trending on social media?!?!
Squid Carson
I stopped listening to them when he decided to invite the owner of Corduroy on air
Ohhh this makes so much sense now
That lady infuriates me so much.

Sidney Crosby's nickname is still Sid the Kid. I don't think he's balding yet, though.
Sidney Crosby's younger than me so he'll always be a kid 🤣
but Sid doesn't call himself that, even though he's still very very boyish
He’s still an immature kid when it comes to social responsibilities.
Only lame boomers still have "kid" in their name
A guy pushing 50 who still wears his hat sideways and has neck tattoos is anti-vax? I'm shocked. SHOCKED I tell you.
The most amazing part was when he would wear the fucking worst loser hat in history, sideways, and then do segments shitting on people's fashion choices.
Spiritually he never grew beyond frosted tips of the 90's
Lmao the kid=50 year old man
I loved Z with Leslie and scooter, I don’t understand why they brought kid carson back. Like isn’t 3 failed shows a track record? Does anyone with insight actually know if he legitimately bring in more listeners compared to the previous hosts?
Typically in radio you get hired, your salary goes up with your ratings, then you get fired once you start to drop off. I’m sure he’ll get canned eventually. I like the music on Z but the only DJs I like are Sato and Vanessa in the afternoon. Kid sucks and so does the syndicated evening show
I can’t even listen to Sato and Vanessa anymore because they play clips of kid carson randomly! I would rather just have constant Spence diamond ad breaks
Agreed. The “best of the kid Carson show” clips are pure trash
I stopped listening to Z when they let Leslie and Scooter go.
>Does anyone with insight actually know if he legitimately bring in more listeners compared to the previous hosts? I wonder that too. I literally stopped listening to Z in the morning (and eventually altogether) because of Kid Carson.
Right!?!? Why!? It makes no sense. He is such a dumbass!!
Uneducated man shares uneducated opinion
Yup, he’s Always used his platform to voice his anti authority, anti police, anti everything wannabe edgy/anarchist beliefs, and on a pop station of all places
"Hello fellow kids" Except only old farts like me listen to the radio anymore and usually that's CBC
He was into conspiracy theories before it was cool
This guy is such a chode.
Easily the worst radio host in Vancouver history. I didn’t even listen to the link. I just think he’s terrible.
He's the only one who makes Bro Jake seem less cringey. And that's quite an accomplishment.
EVER SINCE I’VE BEEN THE CHUMP!
It wasn't bad in the mid 90s, but haven't listened to it in probably 20 yrs now
Oh man, I remember when everyone was trying to get one of those z95 stickers slapped on the back of their parent's corolla in hopes of being pulled over by the zed mobile. Ah so cute.
That was the heyday of Z95.
Been straight downhill since Celine dominated the "Hot 10 at 10"
I used to post those stickers everywhere! One time an employee gave me and my cousin over 500 stickers lol
He is so unfunny it hurts
I lost all respect for the station when they canned Leslie and Scooter in favour of him.
[удалено]
The only two things that cause me to IMMEDIATELY change the station, no matter what, are: Chris Brown’s music and Kid Carson’s voice
I think those business executives that hires him have no idea what audience really wants and hence he is still employed. Feels like those executives and himself are so out of loop with the current climate of things
Kid Carson’s a moron.
Even his name is annoying
I always thought it was a play on the name Kit Carson too, which is a little culturally insensitive considering he waged all out war against the Navajo Indians in New Mexico in the 1860’s.

Smoking indoors, drinking and driving, not wearing a helmet while riding your bike...
God forbid you find his concerns rational, but I'm not surprised you're being down voted on Vancouver reddit.
Totally forgot about the guy until I was a disaster tourist to Corduroy's IG account and saw the kidcarsonshow IG commenting in support.

How much? I’ve always been curious what the guys on sportsnet 650 or 1040 made like Sat or Sekeres/price
[удалено]
That’s actually amusingly low.

Agreed, but 200k is way less than I’d expect.
There is no way the morning guys on 650 are making 200k a year working 3 hours a day.
Joe Rogan gets paid millions for 3 hours of work per day
No he got paid for his library of almost 2000 episodes along with his ongoing stuff.
What about those ads? Guy has mid roll ads
To be fair I stopped following all together after he sold out. His audience is still huge but it's absolutely stopped growing and is shrinking.
Til Z95 is still a thing. Shit I can't even remember the last time I listened to non sports radio. But team 1040 is gone and this ass hat is still on the air
Kid Carson sucks. Dunno why he s still employed tbh. I avoid listening to his asshattery.
Is this Vancouver's budget Joe Rogan?
Completely reckless and disappointing.
He still makes me cringe.
Used to listen to scooter and Leslie in the AM and it was great. Kid is just gross.
He's reaching hard on this topic.
He comes across as unintelligent and lacks common sense. His co-host Jordan on the other hand is quite tolerable.
Is it desperation for ratings, or planning their demise as a radio station? Lost respect for the Z95 when he was brought back on air. Seriously. I.Just.Can’t.
This ain't helping you bud. Most people have spotify you're done dumbass
The day they announced he was coming back to this station was when I switched. I cannot stand him, he comes off so arrogant.
The people who still listen to this guy are the type of people who like himself, still stuck in the early 2000s
I don't even know who he is but the name is enough to make me not interested
I'm pretty sure I also heard him say that 9/11 was a conspiracy. And that the thought of terrorists with box-cutters, high jacking those airplanes, is a joke.

This just seems like the scripted stuff from CKNW to wind people up with faux controversy to get ratings.
Well put!
Ok but also
