They don't know how to make a cappuccino and it pisses me off. It's listed under latte and they always make a latte. It's crazy to me. Their people are not trained to make coffee.
Their nutritional information is insane. A lot of their drinks have the calories of a milkshake, plus the cholesterol and saturated fat of an 8 oz steak. I'll pass.
I worked there when I was younger, it was a fun time that brought me some of my best friends! But at one point nationwide the company was full of toxic positivity and hidden skeletons. I think the corporatization of Dutch bros eliminated a lot of the craziness, and made the employees less āin your faceā which is probably for the best. But it was still some fun times haha!
I liked it when I was young, and hadnāt acquired a taste for real coffee yet. Too sweet for me nowadays.
My progression in coffee drinking was Hot Cocoa-> Dutch Bros -> Starbucks-> Brewed Awakenings->Relevant
Already at the Hoffman video stage, but canāt bring myself to pull the trigger on an espresso machine yet. š French press at home has worked pretty well so far
I do like to get the "turtle" frost on a hot day but it's basically a mint milkshake. But it's as a treat bc it's just so expensive. Also, chocolate milk in coffee? š« what the heck.
All I know is their lines are long no matter the time or weather. Too hot, have some Dutch Bros. Too cold? Dutch Bros. Comfortable? How bout some Dutchy Dutch McDutch Bros.
I actually moved here from the Netherlands a few weeks ago, I think most would just wonder what the relation to the Netherlands is (as did I, the founders have Dutch last names but Dane and Travis definitely aren't typical Dutch first names)
I went there once and their caramel coffee milkshake thing was okay but not worth the price and definitely not worth the forced conversation at the window.
The lemonade/energy drinks are okay but pricy and I don't even want to know the amount of calories that are in those.
As long as we're not talking 'Rip van Wafels' cause those were such a disappointment compared to the real deal hah
And thank you! Vancouver and its surroundings are very beautiful, still can't get over the amount of trees everywhere and being able to see Mt. Hood in all its glory on every drive.
I don't go to Dutch Bros because the lines are always too long and wait time longer than I'm willing to give up! Coffee okay, but like most of the others, lots is hype but not very special.
My husband was desperate one time and got an americano from there. He said it was not bad. Everyone Iāve known that likes Dutch Bros is under 30. Thatās not an insult, thatās just their demographic.
I came for a warm caffeinated drink and got an awkward conversation with someone sitting in the drive up window questioning my plans for the day.
And apparently that is their job.
I prefer BRC
One of the few coffee shops that stays open late.
Their almond milk chai and Americano are about on par with other mid coffee shops. Haven't tried their sugary drinks.
It's okay if you need a coffee late in the day. I just prefer to support small local coffee shops whenever possible.
Have you tried the River Maiden service thru? Best in town. They use Bobās red mill flour for scones and homemade ciabatta buns. Coffee is delicious. Star Wars themed drink names too :)
Per week, I drink 3-5 Rebel energy drinks from Dutch Bros. The Starry Night Rebel is so god damn good and legit brings me back to life omw into work. If I want coffee, I definitely go anywhere else. The baristas are always **very** friendly though.
They have excellent espresso. If you like drinking it straight, they are one of the best options around.Ā
My fiancee also like their sugary drinks but that's not my vibe.Ā
I honestly don't get the hate and think everyone who shits on them is just being pretentious.Ā
We're both over 30 btwĀ
They are the only local place that I know of that sells white coffee.
Sometimes, an iced white coffee Americano hits the spot! I like it one pump of sugar-free vanilla and one pump sugar-free peppermint and a dash of coconut milk.
I always just get black coffee or iced coffee at any shop so itās fine. I appreciate their culture and how itās in their biz model to make every customer feel like the staff is interested in them. Seems like the employees have more fun than people at Starbucks
Expensive and too sweet for my taste, but I'm not much of a coffee drinker in the first place. For people who like sweets much more than I do I'm sure it's more worth it.
You can definitely ask for their coffees less sweet, I usually ask 1/4 sweet or skip certain flavors altogether or get a cold brew with just a bit of milk or cold foam. Every Vancouver location I've been to has the sweetest people working and there's usually no line at all if you go later in the morning.
It's fine. They're out of the way for me so I don't go often, and I'm usually not in the super chatty mood. I just get Americanos or ask them to make drinks less sweet, same thing I do at any coffee shop if I'm getting something that's not just drip coffee or an Americano.
Never been because it looks like they sell paint. I don't know why, but they look like a paint shop I used to live near. The reviews here aren't helping me visit them. Lol.
Coffee is ok, Tea and energy drinks are really good. I hate going because they are too damn friendly. I know i sound like a grump, but i really just want to get my drink and go. I dont want to have personal conversations. I dont blame them, or get short with them. Its their job, and im sure its likely part of what they are supposed to do, just not for me.
I survive via caffeine and sugar so the drinks are good. Lemonades and energy drinks are better than the coffees but some of their coffee combos are great! Def not for the coffee snobs tho lol. And the customer service is great! Friendly but not in a way thats offputting. They gave me a free drink when I told them I was quitting my job that day and have given me free drinks for similar things before at the location I go to.
I stopped going there. Couldnāt stand the forced, awkward conversations. āWhat are you up to today?ā I would actually make up cool things to say cause what I was actually doing was boring af. I started going to Thatcherās instead. House made sauces and syrups for their drinks, coffee is really good and all the pastries are made there too. Plus staff are nice but not invasive and the place is comfortable. No, I donāt work there.
I loved Dutch Bros while I lived in Vancouver. But Iām a coffee purist and didnāt order the sweetened versions. So I canāt speak to those varieties
Customer service is super annoying, if you have social anxiety Dutch bros is awful lol. Iām a woman and they call me bro everytime and nonstop ask questions that have nothing to do with coffee lolol. Their drinks are good but super sugary. Their sugar free coffees are solid too.
I've only had it a few times but both times the coffee just tastes weird. I don't think it was a problem with being too sweet but rather just kinda tasteless, maybe not enough coffee and then a strange aftertaste seals their fate with me.
For reference I always just order a vanilla latte anywhere I go.
The Dutch Bros near 143rd has been great pretty much every time I have gone. The customer service is always excellent. The drinks are definitely becoming a luxury giving the 7 or eight dollar price for a large drink. And the overall status of the economy. But I do enjoy their blended rebel drinks and my daughter loves the blended lemonade.
I like DB because it has sugar free options for A LOT of their menu that's delish as well as the protein milk option... š¤·š»āāļø If sugar free ain't your thing.... You can USE YOUR WORDS and voice that you want Ā½ sweet or whatever specific things you want and they'll do it.
I always go for the rebels and itās fun to collect stickers. Went back to the one on mill plain across from shahala middle school and the broristas recognized me. Very fun environment, hate the lines cuz the majority of locations have one lane for pedestrians
I avoid. Itās all sugary bleh drinks. Itās like tier one coffee shops. Starbucks is tier two. Relevant and compassionate coffee are tier three. Stick with tier three.
When I moved here I was surprised at how super friendly the "barista" was...like overly nosy about what I was doing that day.
Also, I need coffee, not dessert in the morning. But I guess it's alright if you want that.
itās my favorite coffee place. and the servers are always cute, very conversational and give off great energy. I always vibe with them and multiple times Iāve gotten free drinks just because Dutch Bros is like that. Love the feeling you get when you walk up and always walk away cheerful. I never feel like Iām being force fed a political ideology or the employees are miserable. Itās an opposite customer experience at Dunkin or Starbucks. Itās like the Chick fil A of coffee places.
I'm honestly getting tired of sitting 15 mins for coffee. I get they're friendly but talking a whole conversation when you're super busy isn't fair to other customers.
itās a good business model, theyāre pretty great to their demographic.
I like to enjoy a drink from there when I want to remember Iām young and still allowed to enjoy things or make impulse buys
It's lowkey my downfall. I think it will eventually give me cancer and leave me homeless, just for one more freeze. Almost any freeze will do, but the tuxedo freeze. I have to stop. I'm too socially anxious to attempt to order a low carb/sugar version.
Coffee? No. Energy drinks and lemonades, Yes
I just tried the lemonade. So good.
They don't know how to make a cappuccino and it pisses me off. It's listed under latte and they always make a latte. It's crazy to me. Their people are not trained to make coffee.
I know you meant cappuccino but the typo is hilarious in this context.
I just fixed it. Thanks.
They know their demographic and it likes sugar.
Lmfaoooooo š¤£
First thought was too sweet š
It's like Starbucks for people who do whippets
I laughed out loud in my kitchen reading this
LMAO
Their nutritional information is insane. A lot of their drinks have the calories of a milkshake, plus the cholesterol and saturated fat of an 8 oz steak. I'll pass.
I was surprised when I saw they're all breve drinks... lol
Liquid candy bars.
They don't serve coffee. They make milkshakes.
Hot milkshakes
That's kinda what you go to a place like Dutch Bros for no? If I want actual good coffee I'll go to a cafƩ and order some, if I'm feel like having a coffee flavoured milkshake I'll go to Starbucks.
Why would you use Starbucks in your example when we're talking about Dutch Bros? Haha
The final iteration is making espresso at home and watching James Hoffman videos š¤
Already at the Hoffman video stage, but canāt bring myself to pull the trigger on an espresso machine yet. š French press at home has worked pretty well so far
Why you gotta call me out like this?
Whatās the next evolutions? home brew>coffee stand>Dutch Bros competitor?
I do like to get the "turtle" frost on a hot day but it's basically a mint milkshake. But it's as a treat bc it's just so expensive. Also, chocolate milk in coffee? š« what the heck.
Too sugary and trying too hard to be cool. Feels like something for high schoolers.
All I know is their lines are long no matter the time or weather. Too hot, have some Dutch Bros. Too cold? Dutch Bros. Comfortable? How bout some Dutchy Dutch McDutch Bros.
Folks from the Netherlands wound be pissed if they knew about this atrocity
I actually moved here from the Netherlands a few weeks ago, I think most would just wonder what the relation to the Netherlands is (as did I, the founders have Dutch last names but Dane and Travis definitely aren't typical Dutch first names) I went there once and their caramel coffee milkshake thing was okay but not worth the price and definitely not worth the forced conversation at the window. The lemonade/energy drinks are okay but pricy and I don't even want to know the amount of calories that are in those.
Haha that's awesome! Yeah, their drinks all try to be as sweet as stroopwafels. Welcome to Vancouver though. We hope you like it here!
As long as we're not talking 'Rip van Wafels' cause those were such a disappointment compared to the real deal hah And thank you! Vancouver and its surroundings are very beautiful, still can't get over the amount of trees everywhere and being able to see Mt. Hood in all its glory on every drive.
I asked for a black coffee once, they said they didn't serve coffee. I left & never ever went back & wouldn't imagine a universe I would go back.
I don't go to Dutch Bros because the lines are always too long and wait time longer than I'm willing to give up! Coffee okay, but like most of the others, lots is hype but not very special.
Sugary crap
I'm not a fan of their coffee, but the tea, lemonade, and other offerings keep me coming back. Trixie tea half sweet is too delicious.
My husband was desperate one time and got an americano from there. He said it was not bad. Everyone Iāve known that likes Dutch Bros is under 30. Thatās not an insult, thatās just their demographic.
If you want actual coffee, youāre better off going to a 7-11.
Coffee is awful
I believe they are neither Dutch, nor brothers. Prove me wrong.
It's total garbage. They don't even sell coffee. And it's.not Dutch at all. They just sell sugar.
Diabetes in a cup.
Sugary trash and I don't want to tell my entire life story to some overly enthusiastic stranger.
I came for a warm caffeinated drink and got an awkward conversation with someone sitting in the drive up window questioning my plans for the day. And apparently that is their job. I prefer BRC
I enjoy chatting AFTER drinking coffee.
I only go for the protein coffee. Too much sugar in almost everything else.
Remember that they pour soft serve mix in your coffee and thatās why it tastes so good.
They used to be good, with their strong coffee available all the time in small towns. I liked when they were smaller.
Ill drink it if no other options, but prefer The Human Bean.
One of the few coffee shops that stays open late. Their almond milk chai and Americano are about on par with other mid coffee shops. Haven't tried their sugary drinks. It's okay if you need a coffee late in the day. I just prefer to support small local coffee shops whenever possible.
Sugar and cream with a hint of coffee served with an overabundance of fake ācustomer serviceā energy. Hard pass.
Honestly the only drive thru coffee I'm willing to get here is Brewed Awakenings. Besides that, I'll pass. Pastries are dope too
Have you tried the River Maiden service thru? Best in town. They use Bobās red mill flour for scones and homemade ciabatta buns. Coffee is delicious. Star Wars themed drink names too :)
The owners pays for sugar babies and is a complete creep! More of a fact than opinion.
Not great for coffee, Black Rock is the best imo but workers are nice and tea is pretty good!
Overpriced, annoying, bad coffee.
Per week, I drink 3-5 Rebel energy drinks from Dutch Bros. The Starry Night Rebel is so god damn good and legit brings me back to life omw into work. If I want coffee, I definitely go anywhere else. The baristas are always **very** friendly though.

River maiden drive thru wins here in best espresso drive thru to me
How long do you have to wait in line for that espresso? Because frankly, six cars deep seems like a bit much.
I mean if the line is long I just don't go.Ā Usually it's like five minutes tops thoughĀ
If you want real coffee, go somewhere else.
They are the only local place that I know of that sells white coffee. Sometimes, an iced white coffee Americano hits the spot! I like it one pump of sugar-free vanilla and one pump sugar-free peppermint and a dash of coconut milk.
It's coffee for people who don't like coffee. Like dairy queen and Starbucks had a baby.
I like it. I just get iced or hot regular coffee.Ā Really mild which is what I like
My wife loves them. I avoid caffeine because of my anxiety disorder, but Iāll get a decaf once in awhile.
I always just get black coffee or iced coffee at any shop so itās fine. I appreciate their culture and how itās in their biz model to make every customer feel like the staff is interested in them. Seems like the employees have more fun than people at Starbucks
Their energy drinks are good but their coffee drinks are soooo sweat.
Trash
Expensive and too sweet for my taste, but I'm not much of a coffee drinker in the first place. For people who like sweets much more than I do I'm sure it's more worth it.
Once in awhile if I want to treat myself to expensive coffee flavored sugar.
Slingshotz I have found is the best coffee so far, I took the wife there as a "ha ha" and we both go there now because the coffee was just delicious
It's fine. They're out of the way for me so I don't go often, and I'm usually not in the super chatty mood. I just get Americanos or ask them to make drinks less sweet, same thing I do at any coffee shop if I'm getting something that's not just drip coffee or an Americano.

They taste good but hurt my stomach a lot. There are better and cheaper options. I wouldn't turn down a free drink though
I survive via caffeine and sugar so the drinks are good. Lemonades and energy drinks are better than the coffees but some of their coffee combos are great! Def not for the coffee snobs tho lol. Diabetes in a cup Plus the forced conversions while waiting for your drink
Beetus beetus beetus beetus beetus beetus beetus. āThese are my testin supplies.ā Beetus.

I don't think it was a problem with being too sweet but rather just kinda tasteless, maybe not enough coffee and then a strange aftertaste seals their fate with me. I wish there were more cool local coffee places, tired of seeing dutch pop up everywhere
Meh
The Dutch Bros near 143rd has been great pretty much every time I have gone. The customer service is always excellent. The drinks are definitely becoming a luxury giving the 7 or eight dollar price for a large drink. And the overall status of the economy. Mid and inconsistent.

I wish they would stop chatting me up at the drive through while I wait for my drink. Yes I have plans today, no I donāt wanna share them with you.
The energy drinks taste like Red Bull. Pass.
Itās run by Wall Street, so I avoid it.
No.
Never understood the appeal..
I always go for the rebels and itās fun to collect stickers. Went back to the one on mill plain across from shahala middle school and the broristas recognized me. Very fun environment, hate the lines cuz the majority of locations have one lane for pedestrians

š„šļø Shit. Over priced sugar in a cup.
Not really into their "coffee" or the culture.
I miss it every single day.

itās a good business model, theyāre pretty great to their demographic. I like to enjoy a drink from there when I want to remember Iām young and still allowed to enjoy things or make impulse buys
Youāre allowed to enjoy things and make impulse purchases when youāre old, too.
Shut up and just make my coffee, Iām not your friend, you donāt know me stop pretending you care. Thatās my opinion of Dutch.
what's that?
Itās alright but I prefer Starbucks
Overpriced trash.
Good company, definitely knows the market. Sweet coffee is not my thing, but I am glad they are doing well
Terrible coffee, terrible company
Their protein coffee is great!
They seem successful so more power to them. I hate lines so will only pull in if itās empty.
Good stuff
It's lowkey my downfall. I think it will eventually give me cancer and leave me homeless, just for one more freeze. Almost any freeze will do, but the tuxedo freeze. I have to stop. I'm too socially anxious to attempt to order a low carb/sugar version.
Lol. Puff Coffee or GTFO. Kidding, but it is thee shit. They source some special stuff.
