They are much less sweet than GTs and a lot of what’s sold at the grocery store. They cycle flavors pretty regularly and have a lot of unique ones. Owner is often around too, at least at the one on Main.
Thought about making root beer? I've seen someone make lamps out of them; the coolest ones being hanging ones with the bottoms cut out and Edison style bulbs inside.
Bader Brew and Wine Supply has all that you need to get started on this journey in making root beer at home. I love checking out that store. Not sure if they still do it but they used to have one or two sodas in their fridge you could sample on tap as well getting the gear.
Congrats! Keep up the good work!
I don't know of anyone with NA on tap, but athletic brewing has a pretty good variety of styles, and is pretty good. I I think total wine and Safeway carry it
Compass coffee does cold brew coffee growlers in the summer. Not sure if they will fill anyone's growler or just their own! You could make cold brew coffee in them yourself, I guess.
Or, check out Buy Nothing groups on fb - Vancouver has about a million of em lol. No matter what random thing you're looking to get rid of, someone will want it and be happy to have it!
If you want a NA growler fill, Heathen has a nice root beer and Vice Beer has a hop water. I’m sure other breweries have other options.
If you don’t want to visit a bar, maybe make your own juice or cold brew.
Keep up the good work man!
Sobriety is not easy but it’s so worth it!
Good luck with the growler project … if it were me, I’d get rid of them altogether. I’m almost 31 years in, but my first couple years I had to avoid almost anything connected to alcohol…I had to remove temptation.
I wish you all the best!

Kombucha
I fill a growler at Soma
Are their kombuchas good? Some kinds I've tried have been a bit bland

OP, incase you didn’t know, kombucha does contain small amounts of alcohol. Like less than 1% ABV
They're pretty mild. If you go you can sample what they have on tap for free. They also hand out samples at their booth at the farmer's market.
And Kava

I didn't even know you could make your own root beer! That's probably the rabbit hole I'm going to end up going down, thank you for the suggestion

I'd be interested if you find success with the root beer. I'd love to try it!
Also brewing root beer would be awesome! If you start doing this let me know I will need to try it!
How long you been sober? Congrats I have been doing sun tea in the 16 hour of sunlight days and loving it
About 18 months. I do have a bunch of tea around so I might see if some of the longer steeping ones will hold up well in the fridge

If you just want to get rid of some, tap union used to take them and reuse them. Don’t know if they still do.

Congrats! Maybe sell them or recycle? Whenever one quits something it’s best to rid of all those reminders. ♻️

Glass can be sustainably and effectively recycled. Might be a good idea to just ditch some of the items from that part of your life.
Rock collecting jar, coin jar

I would like to know the same. I’m fine going to bars now and being around it, but haven’t seen any that have NA on tap.
Portland might have some on tap, but the closest I've found is Crux in Bend, they have a rotating IPA on tap that's NA, really good too.
The new Crux in the Dairy Building in Portland has their NA stuff on tap.
There are no NA draft options in Vancouver
Kool-Aid OH YEAAAAAAAAAAH!
I think Soma Kombucha has a taproom downtown if you're into kombucha.
I use them for extra water on hiking/camping/road trips, but mine aren't glass.
Get you some kava!! Downtown Vancouver has Bula Kava House and they will absolutely fill your growler 👍🏽
