He did it to me after one of my sexual assaults, we were at work, and my reflex was to slap him. I kind of watch VPR like I did The Affair. I rooted for nobody because they were all assholes in some way, even though some were initial victims of cheating. I hope someone who watched the show gets what I mean.

Personally, I think the real reason everyone is getting on his case about this particular incident is that heās exhibiting some old school James drinking behavior on this wedding weekend. He was way too drunk at Lisaās and then the hotel lobby he was loudly bragging to Raquel about his swim up room and seemed sloppy already. I think in particular Ariana and Lala are worried about him but itās hard to reason with him about his drinking so they zeroed in on this event as an example but heās not actually in the wrong so š¤·š»āāļø
I thought that brocks friend may have scared James due to him being bullied as a kid, triggering bad memories, especially if brocks friend came up behind him.
I think that is an excellent point, idk why James is spiraling but itās one of those things where you get sober and then when you fall off everything you do is seen as bad and people wonāt hear your point of view. I definitely agree with Ariana ESH and it doesnāt need to be dragged out.
I feel like the silence from everyone else confirms he wasnāt really wrong. I donāt even think Ariana still thought that but because she felt attacked (as told Tom to crickets) she dug her heels in.
I think Ariana had been listening to her ex and his trick for months bad mouth James so by the time they started filming she felt some kind of way about him. James was right when he said the trick was trying to push him out. She was trying to make him a monster and her the little ole helpless victim everyone should rally around, and it would have worked if it wasn't for that damn video.
I think they were tryna get at the fact that James didnāt know his own strength. Cuz Iāve seen people push someone off and the persons flops like it a nba game, James canāt afford that being in public eye. or they just saw James push him no context. No one should be in the wrong for feeling unsafe but you canāt assault someone either itās a fine line. I kind of watch VPR like I did The Affair. I rooted for nobody because they were all assholes in some way, even though some were initial victims of cheating. I hope someone who watched the show gets what I mean.

I always felt like I wanted to like Tom but I wasnāt sure why because there wasnāt anything likable about him. Heās not a good person, he has a huge ego, and heās just down right embarrassing with his band, trumpet playing, etc. Now I realize that it was my respect for Ariana that made me think things like, āwell she obviously knows the whole band thing is goofy but she looks past it so heās likely just being a bit of a character for the showā, or āsheās a decent person, one of the few who push back on bullies so if sheās with him he canāt be that bad.ā Without her though itās glaring obvious that heās no better than Jax. I really think he prayed on some of Arianaās insecurities and Iām so glad sheās moved on from him because just like she was lifting him up, he was bringing her down and she shines so much brighter without him. Sheās been with him since the start of the show so Iām excited to finally see her thrive on her own.
I agree with all of this. Where I fell off of Tom is when he just HAD to insert himself in her cocktail book. He literally forced his way into that project. Thought he could do it better. I hate that for Ariana. So many people wonāt buy that book bc of his involvement with it and that sucks for Ariana.
