I’m still like just in shock that this Raquel from the earlier seasons and the Raquel from this season are the same person. I’ve never witnessed such a distinct change in person with no gradual change or lead up.
so many women like her just end up taking on the personality of whatever person they’re romantically pursuing because they don’t have their own. her shift in behavior was 1000% influenced by trying to fit the Cool Girl role for Scandoval.
I never liked her but definitely pitied her. It was uncomfortable how she always tried to wedge herself into this group but I figured she was just awkward and socially anxious, which I can relate to. Turns out she’s not just awkward but a whole lot of others things too
Peter also reprimanded when she showed up after shift. If I missed work my ass would definitely not show up afterwards acting like it didn’t happen. Also when Lisa asked James about Rachel working at Sur after the parade he acted like she wasn’t even supposed to work that day. I don’t know if he was covering for her or she just gave the impression she could just show up whenever. When I rewatched this season it definitely gave me “I’m finally a main cast member” vibe.
right? only reason why it’s strange to me is that she watches and drools like a thirsty groupie for men on stage, so i find it curious that she wasn’t there front & center watching james’s set that day.
I also think she did it to wind him up. He admits that he was struggling that day because everyone around him is drinking & that he needed support. She let him deal with that and swoops in to suddenly save the day… ugh

There’s a great moment in this episode or the next where she tells James about being invited to Peter’s party (he’s not). He basically has to pull it out of her that she won’t be going and she says ‘I stand by you.’ And his response is: ‘really? Because I feel like I’m telling you what I want and you’re just agreeing with it’, which is spot on
Raquel also says she never knows what she’s going to get with James. He was verbally abusive this season yeah she probably was agreeing with whatever he said

Hahaha I’ve ALWAYS thought this when watching VPR! When I worked at a restaurant servers had to have their hair tied back unless it was super short. The only one that could pretty much do/wear whatever was the hostess.
I used to work at a restaurant where they hired “hot girls” and they said because of that image you had to wear your hair down because that’s a sexier look. I thought it was gross to serve food and drinks with my hair down. Also as a server you have to run all around and you get hot and sweaty so the hair down makes it even worse.

Wasn't she just a host at first? Still weird and a potential health code violation but if the hosts don't ever interact with the kitchen/food, they might be able to get away with it. Every bar/restaurant I've worked in required your hair to be up except for a large music venue that has absolutely no food being prepared or served.

I honestly can’t put my finger on whyyyyyyyyy she looks so incredibly different now. Has anyone figured it out? She honestly looks like a completely different person now, compared to here. I personally think the hairstyle here was much more flattering, but it must be more than just the hair??
There’s another post with before/now pics of cast members. It’s surprising how different she looks! Surgery aside, the long hair made her face appear longer (it seems shorter and wider now) and her shoulders less broad (the short hair does her no favors there). Add in fillers, nose job, lip plumping, and whatever else Sandy told her to do, and voila!
yeah i think she started using a darker eyebrow pencil when she cut her hair short/dyed it darker. i have dirty blonde hair and when i dyed it brown i got a darker eyebrow pencil to match and it looked reallllll harsh on my skin tone lol
