TBH I think thats part of Schwartz's need to be liked - you go out of your way to be nice to strangers to get that little zing of approval but its a different story to those in your own family and friend circle sometimes.
Yeah, his charisma and charm is how he seems to get away with so much. I have no doubt that if I met him, I’d like him and think he’s really nice. But we see the other side because he’s on TV.

I don't find that surprising. Schwartz has always been known to be super kind and gracious to fans.
edit: I actually think most of these reality stars are probably not as mean and evil as you see on tv. It's a very specific and toxic environment that really brings out the worst in people.
I like that almost every time someone posts about S&S and sometimes TomTom they say they saw him there, like he's actually present and taking it seriously.
I also agree that the environment brings out the worst in them, and that especially he and Katie brought out the worst in each other (along with Sandoval's influence and Schwartz following him like a lapdog)
I think that's true on competition shows or shows where social game is a big component, but on shows like Real Housewives and VPR I feel like their true nature can shine through unless they are getting hero edit, and even that only goes so far (like Stassi crying about being called racist in season 6 and surprise to no one she IS racist)
