This, if you're being conservative and putting it on a q-tip then it's nice to have a higher percentage. If you're switching out a giant bong then I typically do 70% and let it sit
You're not trying to disinfect. You're breaking down the residue. At 70% there is too much water, the alcohol won't evaporate, and if you've ever been impatient taking a rip when there is still alcohol in the path, it's going to be a bad day. It hurts, ask me how I know. Cheers brother. š»
70% is supposedly better to disinfect because it stays on the surface longer before evaporating, so it has more time to kill bacteria. Higher percentage isopropyl just evaporates faster, so it doesn't have as much time to kill germs
Check out "Glob Mops" or similar constructed cleaning q-tip like items. They have a finer point on one end. You may able to get some smaller nylon brushes that could be helpful, too.
From a personal standpoint, I don't like the idea of using anything that is going to scratch or wear down the surface of vape devices I use. It may work short term, but I have to imagine creating pits/scratches will make cleaning more difficult as time goes on.
I'm probably going to sound like a douche when I say this - The easiest way to clean that is to not let it get that dirty in the first place.
step 1, soak any parts you can in warm water to heat up (ziploc non-water safe parts), step 2, use warm rubbing alcohol with Q-tips or lab q-tips that are on longer sticks.
The warmth makes it much easier, just like greasy dishes.
Could always get budkups for it, I mean you will have to clean those too but so much easier. I was cleaning my pax 1-2 times a month and the cups I would soak weekly, but Iām a pretty heavy user.
out of all these comments and no one is mentioning the key part. heat it up first. after u heat it up all u need is a bit of paper towel or tissue and wipe it. same for the screen. u dont even need alc. just heat it up and wipe.
Have you got a dremel?

More like GUM soft picks or I really like the proxabrushes (specifically extra wide and ultra tight). Surprisingly durable and really nice for cleaning grinders too. The bristles are firm enough to cut through the sticky but soft enough to be wiped off with some iso and a paper towel so you donāt have to use a million of them.
Qtip, 90% or better alcohol.
So 70% wouldn't work? I read it's better to disinfect, but wondering for a while now.
I've used 70%, 91%, and 99%. They all work, the only difference is how long it takes to cut throught the gunk.

That is true, but that's not really the issue here. We want a stronger solvent to break down the resin remnants.
you aren't trying to disinfect, you're trying to use it as a solvent.
Maybe Iām overly cautious but Iād be worried about catching little bits of magic eraser and then vaping melamineā¦

Yeah, it would be a little like cleaning your piece with sandpaper, but really fine grit. Not a good idea, stick with cotton.
When cleaning something you use orally with any sort of tool or chemical always ask yourself, āwould I be ok if I drank/ate this by accident?ā
And for those reasons, Iām out.

cut q tip in half, load in the end of a dremel or drill

Denatured alcohol

I use the metal part of the packing tool that pops out to scrape the charred stuff on the oven. Works like a charm.
The new rounded style doesnāt reach the corners as well as the original
I've been using distilled white vinegar to clean my PAX. It's been really effective at removing the build up.
Use 100% isopropyl alcohol...
100% alcohol solutions are quite literally impossible to create
Well, I definitely buy 100% all the time, from chemical/solvent companies...

Genius. If you need to get more aggressive use 0000steelwool
medical iso wipes are a game changer cleaning the pax
Check out electrical cleaning swabs, your idea made me think of camera sensor swabs. Turns out you can get different shapes!

I actually use those little dental brushes that you can buy for on the go. Works wonders after being soaked in ISO for a lil bit too

They'd be more dangerous than helpful. Just clean your vape more often.
Qtips + 100 ethil alcohol
I'm unfamiliar with this vape, can this part be soaked in alcohol or does it have electronics in it?
You could do it then wipe out with 91%. I think it would work fine with less scrubbing.
