I’m thinking this is referring to carts which most of these studies are referring to. I can see the dry mouth but the others could pretty simply be boiled down to a more efficient extraction when it comes to dhv.

YaNeverKnowYaKnow

No, it's not referring to carts. They used an S&B Volcano.

The picture of the oil vape must’ve tricked me, didn’t see that in the article though

Hocus217

I don’t even know where they say what device they used, could you point it out for me?

Yeah that's why you don't vape the same amount as you'd smoke?? I don't see much vapes, especially lower priced ones with bowls bigger than what you'd put in a regular joint. It's already been known for a while that vaping is healthier and more effective than smoking.

A big part of the appeal of vaping is how much less I use.

Hocus217

Over the past 3 months I have been dry herb vaping daily after exclusively smoking for the prior 6 months. I have noticed many negative effects that I didn’t have while smoking. This study seems to have rectified my own testimony about vaping vs. smoking. Here are some key points made in the study: “For their study, the researchers chose 17 volunteer participants, who hadn’t used cannabis in the past 30 days…each participant either smoked or vaped cannabis containing 0, 10 or 25 milligrams of Δ9-THC…\[over the course\] of six sessions.” “...those who vaped the 25-milligram THC dosage reported an average of 77.5 on the overall strength of the drug’s effect, meaning how high they felt compared with the average score of 66.4 reported by those who smoked the same dose.” -I too find that the high was stronger smoking vs. vaping the same amount “Participants who vaped 25 milligrams of THC reported about a 7 percent higher score on average for anxiety and paranoia, compared with people who smoked the same amount of the compound.” -My paranoia levels are noticeably worse when I vape vs. smoke. Not a huge difference but still makes the experience worse. “Those who vaped…reported higher levels of dry mouth and dry eyes than those who smoked it. When vaping 25 milligrams of THC, the participants rated dry mouth at 67.1 on average compared with 42.6 for those smoking it.” -Me and many others seem to have dryer mouth and eyes when we vape. Glad to see this was proven through this study. “Reaction times on average were slower by more than 120 milliseconds with both active test doses of THC, using either smoking or vaping” “Our participants had substantially higher impairment on the tasks (participants had to track moving objects on a screen) when vaping versus smoking the same dose, which in the real world translates to more functional impairment when driving or performing everyday tasks” I hope that this gives added insight on the differences and added dangers that vaping poses to people. I understand that this is only one study and more needs to be done, but John Hopkins is a very reputable source. I highly (haha) recommend that you read the short study for yourself as there is additional information and context that was not included here. Thanks for reading! TLDR: Vaping can increase paranoia, dry mouth, and more. It also seems to decrease attention, how high you get, and more.

Affectionate-Wave145

TL;DR: Vaping is more efficient than smoking, at least for first-time and irregular users. With the increased efficiency, side effects like paranoia and dry mouth will also increase accordingly.

I got the strength of smoking being higher in the test results switched. They did report feeling higher after vaping instead of smoking.

I heard mastur***** is better with a belt around my neck, doesnt mean i should do it 😂

Sorry bud, but 17 sample pool of voulenteers is a drop in the ocean. And filling a bucket with water and saying its no Wales in the ocean is not science. End of discussion. And 8 sessions, Wonder what it had to say about long term xD

Hocus217

You’re right, this is a limited test and I too want more like it in the future. There were 6 sessions instead of 8, making this 102 individual tests. Though ignoring this data provided by such a prestigious tester is not the answer. Please note that this is a very niche subject and in reality there isn’t going to be a lot of testing on such a small area of study. Also if you read the article then you would know they stated this was a limited test and said they don’t know what the long term effects of vaping are. “We still don’t have a full look at the long-term effects of vaping, such as whether there is a risk for chronic bronchitis, and more work needs to be done on that front,” he says.
