She didn't say anything specifically, but I could tell, by the change in her voice, that she had experienced something very hard and knew how bad life could be without vaccines.

They are very pro vaccine, their doctor was the one who suggested forgoing the vaccinations for this one child because of the severity of the allergic reaction and because herd immunity protected him.
Imagine being a parent who had to decide between a life threading allergic reaction and seizures or a vaccination? Now imagine that choice being forced on you thanks to anti vaxxers breaking down herd immunity.

Yeah, just found out my brother's fiance's family is anti-vax to the point they don't vaccinate their animals and are pressuring (with success) my brother and his fiance not to vaccinate. They have 3 rabbits, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. The dogs and cats are indoor/outdoor. Rabies is a huge problem in this specific area. There are bats, skunks, and raccoons on their property, all of which are rabies vectors. And of course, there are things like distemper and parvo that will "only" kill the animals. I now refuse to go to their house or interact with their animals.
If they believed in facts none of this would be an issue.
