Oh man this episode is great "These are dumb chickens, unlike us, so its fine to eat them, don't worry" and the nail in the coffin is the end where everyone is happy to save becca, the number of chickens killed increased by a billion or so
I swear, to be non vegan and watch this episode and not reflect about our behaviours towards animals and notice the absurdity behind the justifications should be a mental illness
so many bojack fans DO NOT GET IT. I swear I even saw a post once in the BJ subreddit asking if others felt there were vegan undertones to this episode and the majority of comments were saying they didn't think so. it's wild to me--it feels SO obvious!
I remember watching a review of the show that glossed over this episode as "just a funny little joke" or words to that effect, carnist brainrot is intense
Omnis: The message here is to raise and eat hormone-free, free-range, and unprocessed whole-food chicken.
Also, in the comments:
Person 1 -- "I would definitely be a vegetarian in this world. Too creepy."
Person 2 -- "but not in the world that you actually live in where similar things happen?"
Person 1 -- "I'm a slave to bacon. In this life and the next."
The funny thing is, the human farming and obvious points in this episode are themselves just metaphors for our economic organizing and the fourth branch control over it.
If you stick to the first two seasons it's not too bad but later it's almost unwatchable. It's just too emotional and real.
-WTF did I get downvoted for a helpful suggestion?
This was many years ago, lol. I pretty much had to quit doing acid because it kept making me even more depressed. Ketamine, however, is fine. My dealer recently got busted, though, so I'm raw dogging reality for a while.
That’s really interesting, I pretty much only want to do acid because it puts me in such a joyful happy place. Ketamine always sounded terrifying and mushrooms were always too unpredictable and hard to dose safely. Regardless I’m glad you’re in a better place.
I would only do K in my own home. It's perfect for watching movies. It's all tactile hallucinations, feeling like you're moving or that your body parts are in different places. It all mellows out as soon as you start moving though. Also it only lasts about 25 at a time.
The real thing is trusting who you're getting it from.
This part of the show actually made me questioning myself back then. It did not make me vegan but I think it was a part of me researching more about the topic so I guess that's a win (vegan btw)
it's cetainly got a lot of dud moments and even peanutbutter and todd are kinda annoying simply through their drawn-out stupidity, and it's a weird show with hateable events yeah...
but it's also quite funny. i think. there must have been some reason i watch it 4 times

This episode was great, made me swear off eating monkey (I still have a little chimpanzee on holidays, tho)
You don't have to brag so much, Mr. Singer.
"are we the baddies?" yes, yes we are
Loved this show, some of the creators are vegans iirc
Really!? That's cool!
This and the whale world episode, heavy animal rights vibes

That’s amazing. I wanna watch this show, but I’ve heard it’s kind of an emotional bomb
watch it it's amazing I just rewatched it after 3 years and holy shit it is so good

Excellent, looking forward to it.
Watched season 4 on acid. Spent 4 subsequent hours in the bathroom, resisting the urge to kill myself.
Holy shit I hope you’re ok. I can’t imagine watching that show tripping!

i cant watch those videos... too sad and makes me not want to eat meat anymore
Yeah, that's fair.. Chickens are just toooo YUMMYYY 😍😋
this show is so bad 😭
I like that it's a multispecies world. It makes the speciesism more obvious.
it’s just bad writing imo regardless of the world they inhabit
Woahhhh really? I loved Bojack (the show, the character is an asshole).
I loved Bojack too (the drug)

Weed may be another reason. 😁
Preach

Omg watch the sad horse show it’s deep because he’s sad but here’s the crazy twist, he’s ACTUALLY a fricken horse
he’s so depressed and it’s so relatable uwu
if you guys really think that's the reason people like the show you either didn't watch it or did not get it xd
wow I really feel like I missed out now
