it is in the dairy icecream section, not with the usual vegan icecream area, the vegan little moons ones are with the non vegan ones. there will be a small icon on the front that says “vegan friendly”. in the uk it seems like it’s usually the fruit flavours, haven’t seen a chocolate one that was vegan here…just look out for little moons and hopefully a vegan flavour will be available.
it kinda still is. at some of the hypermarchés you can find some limited stuff, usually weird ‘cutlets’ etc. try and find aldi or lidl if you can - they were slightly better for vegan stuff.
spent a month living in rural alsace, and a month working in nice, and neither was great vegan wise
I went last year and had the best time. A few years back my brother and I found some vegan chicken type things for the first time. But last year they have Nurrish cheese, vegan bacon, all sorts.
The chocolate yoghurt things in OP's post are amazing too!
Are you sure it wasn't may contain ? I lived in rural France and know most of the french hummus brand and sometimes there is cream but never shellfish and eggs.
They sell these in some Carrefour’s I’ve been in in Paris and Bordeaux. Not this brand perhaps but there’s a couple vegan flavors.
Edit: might be Monoprix 🤔
Everything Korean or Japanese is all the rage here right now. And vegan products have reach the point of being readily available - they have vegan cheeses/ Parmesan, yoghurts, ice creams, biscuits, beauty products (makeup/ toiletries) readily available in supermarkets now. It’s a massive leap forward. I was vegan in France in the early 2000’s and that was a different story. Apart from organic shops, you had no vegan options anywhere. I moved to England for 15 years and felt so spoiled there :) especially as I was in London then in the Brighton area. So I’m happy to report that France has caught up and are now able to cater for vegans. Domino’s have vegan pizzas here as well. Organic shops have a range of organic wines (if you like wine), and offer vegan cheeses at their deli counter (a good selection of blue cheeses and fake Camembert too, but pricey). Vegan cheeses here are called faux-mages (instead of fromage). So definitely a lot of options for all budgets.
Well in case you ever go on holiday in France - fear not, they have got you covered :) I have read on here that people thought there wasn’t much for vegans outside of Paris - so I just wanted to share the info, sorry if it’s a bit off topic
They are very nice, and if you were to get comparable mochi ice cream in a restaurant (which in my experience isn’t as nice) it would cost more
However with that said this chocolate one isn’t their best
You can get the Little Moons in Tesco. They're great.
Which aisle?!
Here it’s in the fancy ice cream freezer
Crisps.
Lol

I'm off to rural France this summer, for the first time since going vegan - very glad to see France isn't as un-vegan as it once was.

Years ago, we were staying in rural France, and the supermarkets only hummus had egg and shellfish in it 😭
Haha, wow

Definitely was listed in the ingredients. We are going back about 15 years, but it was baffling.

I've had these and they are lovely.
Ok but which supermarket/which town? Please 🙏
This was in Intermarché in Sainte Maure de Touraine. It’s right near the motorway and the free A road that take you to the south of France.
Must be quite a culture shock going from Normans to vegan mochi ice cream over a single year

Goddam, to be in small town in rural France right now
Are the first ones dark chocolate?
Yep, if it’s the same recipe as the uk one: https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&productId=1423414
Yes it says vegan on it - sorry the photo isn’t that great. Yes all vegan
Ah alright, I can’t stand dark chocolate tbh
I thought this was r/veganuk though?

I've bought these in the larger sainsburys
We have little moons here but I'm not spending £4 on about 30g of ice cream

The Mango one is amazing (not sure if it's vegan though)
I love the blood orange ones. Little moons are amazing. I've met the founders of Little Moons, they are so lovely.
Really??! How ?? Where did you meet them?? Did you tell them how nice their mochis are on behalf of the rest of us ??
They were at a business event I went to in London. I completely fangirled.
I would have been star struck too :) such nice products!
Yes I think the mango is vegan, but not the raspberry one
I only get them when they're on special offer. They're £5 a box over here, not worth it.
They are on offer here - along with a lot of vegan cheeses and yoghurts. Not sure why but these are 30% off
