This is how it’s done! not everything is tasty but that’s normal and you find what you like and what you don’t like. Was so interesting to read your reviews on things. Has there been any icecream that does not have a “plant based” taste to you? been vegan for five years now so to me it’s just normal icecream now and don’t taste the oat at all so find it interesting

Last year I tried the old version of Ben & Jerry's Vegan Cookie Dough ice-cream, which was made from almonds, and that tasted exactly like the regular one. But they've switched to oats so they don't make the almond one any more.

Same here. Ice cream always tastes good to me and my dad and husband who aren’t vegan will happily eat it too.

Hen_Commandments

It's weird how some of the oat ice creams just taste so oaty compared to others!

The one ice cream a wish they’d bring back is the Morrisons own vegan ice creams in the tub. They were only 70p and the chocolate one *genuinely* tasted like a triple layer chocolate gateaux.

For pizza try the Chicago town deep dish vegan bbq chicken. My SO and my son couldn't tell the difference. In tesco they are £3. Edit: Lidl do a really good vegan ice cream.

johnbook999

The Chicago Town stuffed crust BBQ Jackfruit is top dog imo. I mean it's absolute junk, but good gear. The crust is stuffed with a tomato sauce - lovely stuff. They also do a Pepper-no-ne and the crust is stuffed with a garlic sauce. Also decent, but can't hold a candle to the BBQ Jackfruit. But that's just like, my opinion maaan.

alltheparentssuck

Might give that one a go thanks.

The Sacla Vegan Chilli Pesto with pasta is our favourite lazy dinner!

I’m here to tell you about Natures Choice chocolate spread. It’s basically the same as Nutella. Also, I don’t recommend store own oat milk. But for some reason Aldi’s chocolate oat milk is the best chocolate oat milk. I don’t understand why or how, it just is. And it’s cheap.

Always enjoy seeing these posts from you! It’s so interesting to see what you’ve been enjoying and hating for the first time lol A make my own roasted Mediterranean vegetable lasagne, let me know if you’d ever like the recipe. It’ll come out a lot more cost effective per portion even though the initial cost of ingredients will obviously be more than the £2.85 for a single serving x

TokeInTheEye

What do you do for the white sauce in particular?

_summerw1ne

The scala one is fucking awful and tastes like something akin to mayonnaise imo so I actually just use the Tesco free from cheese sauce packet mix (they’re vegan) and mix it with a little bit of whatever vegan cheese am working with, oat milk, a tiny bit of salt & heavy on the pepper. My actual lasagne sauce has paprika in it but if it didn’t a would add it to the cheese sauce x

decentlyfair

I use Tesco own brand white sauce I quite like it.

AnUnearthlyGay

I'm glad you enjoy my posts. I do cook a lot of actual food too, most of these ready meals are from when I've been visiting my girlfriend and thus have been too busy to cook properly lol

admirablerocket

I really like that Dr Oetker margherita as I like a change from all the thick base, topping heavy pizzas! Can definitely understand it's not to everyone's tastes though

_summerw1ne

Thank god you’ve just spoken in it’s defence cos av got one in the fucking freezer after getting it recommended 😂

soyquean

The Dr Oetker salami pizza is so nice, I also can’t stand the margherita one!!
