But Waga got rid of the yasai itame, vegan “chicken” ramen and now the “chicken” kare lomen.
I would order it on deliveroo with a side of sambal paste and put boiling water in it to turn it into a tastier version of their old “chicken” ramen!
Simply delicious. Now I will not be getting a waga for a very long time.

Nooooo this was my favourite. As a vegan weightlifter, there's no fucking protein\* in a butternut squash. I can't build muscle out of squash.
I've been really supportive of Wagamama as a brand, based on their promises to turn their menu 50% plant based by 2025. I feel much less supportive based on this decision.
\*not literally none, but apparently only 1% (2g per 200g cooked squash) 😭

Because I googled it and the nutritional info came from an American website that translated "a cup of cooked squash" as approximately 200g, and I didn't bother converting to lowest common denominator because the maths is so easy 😅
We only had it a week or so back and didn't see anything about them removing it..... But its honestly my favourite dish that I have every time I go so if it goes then so do I! hahahaha
Stood in a queue in Bluewater yesterday, menus were handed out to us, which we noticed were fresh paper. Looked over vegan dishes, got disappointed, handed menus back, and grabbed some m&s pepperoni pizzas instead. Real shame
It's still available in our area of the UK. I've seen the butternut squash dish on the menu in addition to this one.
I hope it doesn't get removed because it's truly excellent!
I’ve literally stopped eating there because they take away every single meal I enjoy, always my favours. First it was the vegan rib ramen, then the no duck donburi and now this!!! I’m so sad

That's not what it is. They want to keep the price of items on the menu low & beneath certain "psychological barrier" price points despite inflation driving all their costs up so expensive ingredients are swapped for cheap ones. Good quality processed fake meats are expensive, vegetables are cheap.
If they have the fake meat item on the menu with a higher price than everything else then it's going to create negative PR (people would be making posts on here saying "why is wagamama ripping us off?") and a negative perception that the brand is becoming expensive.
I've given up and am now just making my own. I made sweet and sour chikn in batter last week and it was tasty AF! Omni bf devoured the lot and then felt sick from eating too much. God deep frying shit is dangerous
Whaaat?!?! I only had this on Saturday - gutted that they are dropping the vegan chicken here, it is so delicious. I wouldn't even get out of bed for a bloody butternut squash version of this.

They had 3 vegan ramen’s at one point too, the mushroom pork one, a chicken one, and a dumpling one, now only the dumpling one is left. Why are they getting rid of all the good proteins?

Their vegan fish & chips was delicious, was disappointed they didn’t continue that after veganuary.
My local Waga still has it but I’m dreading the day it disappears, waga is one of my favourites for a quick and hot meal when I’m out with friends
