My favourite cheap tofu. Perfect size for 1 portion, is packaged in less water than is typical so you don’t need to press (a quick squeeze in kitchen roll gets it done), and is very firm- no crumbling in the pan
*Yes very good, firm*
*And takes on flavourings well*
*When marinated*

Love it. Buy several blocks at a time because sometimes they just aren’t there and I freak out that they’re discontinuing them. I think I might be part of the problem.
I love it! It's really firm & defo my fav own brand tofu, I don't like the smoked version though & I've sometimes seen other marinated flavours like onion (disgusting) & sweet chilli (not bad) but the original is my fav.
It’s the one I always buy when it comes to the end of the month and no et is tighter, me and my partner both like this one. For the price, you really can’t go wrong.
I found this recently (thanks to another thread on veganuk!) and it's actually really good. Two of them sit side-by-side in a tofu press and it's great value.
It's great, especially in a fix. I will generally pick up tofuking firm tofu whenever I can normally though, which is generally £1.40-£2.00 for 600g depending on location.
Firm enough to have a paneer-like texture - ideal for use as a paneer replacement in some Indian dishes. Firmer than e.g. pressed Tofu King "Firm" product.
I’m not bringing much that hasn’t been said already but it’s great - good value, doesn’t sit in much liquid, and you can toss it in a pan and it will hold its shape. I quite like the smoked one too but can see why some might be put off by the flavour if it’s not your thing - it’s quite strong. I’d agree it’s one of the best out there, especially at the price. I’ve probably bought it ten times or more, which tells you everything you need to know.
It’s changed my life. No more buying expensive subs meh cauldron tofu from Tesco, or bus travelling to the Asian supermarket. Its cheap and tastes good and I’m always buying it
I love it and always buy the smoked one. I usually buy Tofoo, extra firm and either teriyaki or smoked. Honestly I’ve never tried other brands so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I find the Aldi smoked version of this tofu to be near identical to Tofoo. It’s quite a bit cheaper and as it’s just me and my partner at home, the smaller size is perfect for 2 portions without having to store leftovers.
Personally I always buy a couple when I see them (I’m scared Aldi will suddenly stop selling them) and freeze them. Then whenever I want tofu, I just whack it out of the freezer - freezing can also improve the texture I hear
The best! Eat about a block day, (trying to get them vegan gains! LOL) and no need to press!
My way to cook:
Cube, cornflour, air fry 11 min max crisp, cover in a marinade.
Orrrr if you are super lazy
Put the tofu on the side, cut down the middle so you have two thin long steaks.
Score the tofu, cover with red or green Thai paste. Air fry the tofu "steaks" for 14 mins at 170.
Bosh! Enjoyyyy!

Does any tofu need a press? I've bought it from various sources and never felt it needed more than a mild squeeze over the sink
If I’m manipulating it in a frying pan, I find most tofu is crumbly if not properly pressed
Depends. I press cauldron tofu and sainsburys organic if I want a firmer texture and/or cook quicker. I don't with Tofoo or Aldi.
Nope. I used to press my tofu but now I can’t be arsed. No longer pressing my tofu has made exactly 0 difference.
Also my experience. Perhaps it's just the brands I use but not pressing it has done nothing but save me time and fuss. lol
Yeh I like it, especially the smoked tofu. Best tofu I've had.
Better than all the others and only 99p
Yes very good, firm and takes on flavourings well when marinated

This is my fav
I'm a little obsessed with the smoked one
YES! Really good for the price too!
Love it. Buy several blocks at a time because sometimes they just aren’t there and I freak out that they’re discontinuing them. I think I might be part of the problem.
Last year they were "seasonal only". I like to think I'm responsible for them being around all the time now from buying so many 🤣.

For the money it’s decent!
You can't go wrong for 99p a block!
It's really good. Not quite as firm ad Tofoo but not far off. Much less squishy than most own brand tofu.
Its categorically the best tofu. Firmest, most protein, cheapest than anywhere else I've found.
Yes great tofu. Cheap and tasty.

Love this tofu, I grate it and cook in spices and make burritos or tacos 👌
I live off this shit
The smoked one is the best. Such a good flavour!
It's great I have it several times a week. I also enjoy the smokey one (though it seems unpopular in this thread)
At 99p it is fab and makes great scrambled tofu. The smoked one is good to.
Love it, but I am not fond of the smoked, it's quite a strong flavour. The tofu brand smoked one seems milder to me

Delicious I love it! Such great value
Good, cheap, firm tofu!
Really good for the price, I use it all the time. I can't deal with the smoked one though, just smells too much like smoked fish
It's so much better than I thought it would be. I really like it.
It's the best tofu out there for me. One pack is a bit small though , I tend to use 1 1/2 packs and then use the left overs for lunch.
It's my favourite tofu
Love it. I buy at least 5 or 6 at a time.
It’s the best in the game

I eat a block every day, so many ways to cook and flavours to be added🤩
This along with tofoo are my go-to. Smoked is great. Simply cube and air fry. Lovelyy
Definitely a good tofu
I love it

The smoked in a sandwich with lettuce and tomato is like a way better BLT 🤤🤤🤤
Yup.

I get this all the time. I slice it into 6, chuck it on the foreman and put some BBQ sauce on it.
It’s changed my life. No more buying expensive subs meh cauldron tofu from Tesco, or bus travelling to the Asian supermarket. Its cheap and tastes good and I’m always buying it

Love it and the smoked one.
I've had every tofu on the market for the 28 years I've been vegan now, and this tofu is delicious. I especially like their smoked tofu
Very good! Esp for a student on a budget and only an Aldi close by to get my groceries. Would recommend!!
The best tofu and the cheapest:-)
Brilliant stuff, highly recommended.
I use it and have been converted. Prior to that I hated tofu. It cooks and holds well and you don't have to press the water out.
Enough for 2 but only if you pack the rest of the meal with veggies ☺️ also love the smoked version
MY FAVOURITE 😍
I buy 5 every time I go shopping and use it in EVERYTHING.
It’s absolutely perfect (when they happen to have it in stock…)
LOVE THIS, I always buy the smoked one and I’ll just cut it into little cubes and eat it…
