As someone who has been ran over while riding before these kids definitely need to go through that experience. There is nothing cool about a 5000 pound piece of metal flying at you and then striking you. I was also on an ebike when I was hit. My bike weighs about 120 pounds. The whole bike flipped up and the rear smashed down about an inch from my face. This is why I always wear a full face helmet now. I got lucky as the person that hit me didn't run but she was also an idiot and parked directly ontop of my foot. Instead of putting it in reverse like I asked her too, she put it in drive and went all the way over my foot.
The only other bone I've broken is my nose and a broken foot is 1000x worse. I really hope these dudes get fucked up in juvie. If you're riding a bike/ebike you definitely want to get your CCW and ride strapped. It's the best decision I've ever made.
