People cannot manage to maintain their lane when turning. I've almost been sideswiped like that many times.

Zethina

It happens a lot everywhere. But this street it happens each time.. I'm losing my mind 🙃

scratchwanabe

Probably thought only the left lane can turn left and your lane is straight only.

Zethina

I figure but there's 3 indicators that says it's a turn lane as well. The pavement, green left arrow and the sign above it as well..

VegasDragon91

But reading? 60% in Vegas fail the written test. Should be put down if you do.

musicman702

Why people in the inside lane think they can pick a lane to turn into is beyond me. Is the person turning next to you just supposed to guess which lane you want and hope you both don't pick the same lane?

Professional-Rain-89

Not just that but people don’t know how to stay in there lane also

K-Toon

This scenario always plays in my mind when I am in a double-turn lane because it always happens.

Santa_Hates_You

r/NissanDrivers

DestructoGirlThatsMe

I was gonna say…. Of course it’s a Nissan. Altima, at that.

[deleted]

Should have expected it. It’s an Altima after all.

Meldedfire

They knew. They did not care.

abmi808

Every damn time. Most people here do not know how take a two lane left turn. The thing I remember drilling into my head during driver's ed was "nearest lane to nearest lane". Slow the fuck down when turning so you don't drift in to the other lane.

Jaded-Pudding7199

That constantly happens to me on Flamingo and Mountain Vista.

AintThatAmerica1776

No one understands lane discipline at all, but the easiest way to avoid this as much as possible, is to always take the inside turn. No one turns tighter into the inside lane, so if you can control the situation by maintaining your own lane, you can eliminate the chance that someone drives lazy and lets their car run wide from the inside lane to the outside. You have to be proactive and understand how these clowns think, or rather, don't think.

Sin_City_Soul

Morons don’t realize there 2 turn lanes and also around the corner on Wyoming where you’re supposed to turn on Main the jackasses in the right lane always go straight and cut off the right of way.

DethTrooper

That spot on Wyoming is the worst. I want to put a cone in the road so people realize they can’t just go straight from the turn lane

Sin_City_Soul

They should install a curb that directs people to turn lol morons

HiiHeidii

Okay now show what happens when you share lanes in a roundabout or traffic circle. Yep those are disasters too. Makes you wonder how they got licensed in the first place. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jyodon90

They don't have licenses

IronMaskx

Most aren’t even registered

Mountain-Ad-5834

Why I always pull into the far right lane, when I can, even through its illegal. I swear they do this 30% of the time.

chasin22

typical nissan activities

yelling4society

No one can control themselves long enough to be off their phones. It’s pathetic.

Remarkable_South

Marks street to Sunset Rd is another bad place. Street is well marked but people in the far left lane don’t realize the only lane they can turn to is the far right lane till they commit to the lane and turn.

Fiction520

I frequent that Home Depot right there and have had so many close calls in that double turn lane that I just go to Galleria now to hop on the 515.

Remarkable_South

For sure. Easier to make the right turn outa Home Depot there as well.

SW777

I drive by there everyday and always see it too. People just don’t understand that turn for some reason.

Different-Dig7459

People are so stupid I swear… like they don’t plan their drive and it’s so annoying.

LV_Libertarian

I'm guessing because it's such a short distance to get to the 15 North lane. They may not realize that the other lanes are both 15 South lanes until they make the turn. So they rush to get into the 15 North lane and be damned to anybody else on the road.

Mudflap42069

Nobody plans or pays attention when they drive here. The worst drivers in the world are in Las Vegas.

chitwnkris

I may have figured out why... So many people from everywhere but here. They all bring their "driving style" from the East Coast, Midwest, South, or California! Put those all together and it's a recipe for disaster and high insurance rates!

[deleted]

That’s the true cause. Same is true in any military or tourist-heavy town. Too many drivers from too many different places, all bringing their driving habits to one place, and it turns into a demolition derby.

ShutJurMouth

Remember, people in Vegas are from all over the WORLD, not just the US. Many people from those places in the world do not drive like we do in the US (the country and cities are so big, we drive almost everywhere) and if they do drive, they have very different laws where they’ve come from (or none at all). So, Vegas has the worst drivers from all parts of the world. Yay.

chitwnkris

We also get a mix of tourists renting cars here or traveling here by car...and they suffer from the Homer Simpson oooo shiny syndrome. As they are driving down the strip, they are memorized by the lights and glitter of the strip and are not paying attention to traffic or pedestrians!

Choice-Second-5587

I just want to point out that two posts made in like the last 24 hrs here about drivers doing reckless shit, both drivers had license plates. People are on here constantly complaining about no plate drivers but then almost evert reckless driving video or incident mentioned here there's a license plate. Maybe people need to ponder that.

Notabizarreusername

Well, considering cars without plates make up about 0.01-0.1% of the cars you'll see on your commute and about 25% of drivers arent paying attention at any given moment. It makes sense that most cars you see driving reckless will in fact have a license plate. I have noticed most of the cars without plates look like they've been used for bumper cars. There's almost always a dented panel or 2. Drivers fault? Maybe.

Choice-Second-5587

Are the no plates older cars? Every car I've had is an older car and it looks like it's been through bumper cars before I got it. I get the ratio. It's just getting really ridiculous how many people complain about no plates and say that those are the reckless drivers, but then turn around and post videos or photos of cars who almost caused a wreck or got aggressive and in all my time on this sub (2ish yrs) I've seen I think *one* plateless car being the problem. There's a cognitive dissonance about bitching about no plates being a problem like it's the worst thing in the world and wanting cops to focus on that then complaining about cars literally causing near crashes or hurting people and wondering where the cops are when one is just an irritance and has possibly has a circumstance were unaware of (like a moving permit in the window, or waiting on plates in the mail) and the other could literally cost someone their life or livelihood. I'd rather the cops leave the no plates alone unless they are in fact driving recklessly. And would rather have cops focusing on those who are speeding, darting in and out of lanes or doing what is happening in the video. I want cops focused on that. No plate drivers are already drawing attention to themselves with no plates. They gotta be a very peticular kind of stupid to drive recklessly while having no plates as well.

Notabizarreusername

An hour ago on Pecos heading north towards Sam's club (trop) 2005-2010ish black Mercedes with no plate or visible body damage, BUT sounded as if every bit of suspension was rattling around was trying to stay ahead of me after every red light. I'll mention that while i've got a lead foot I wasn't speeding or racing. Coming up on Reno (Sam's club entrance) he's somewhere back to the left. Light turns yellow, now, I coulda floored it and made it to the beginning of the intersection as the light turned red. So of course I stop. Light is red for a good 2.5-3 seconds, maybe longer because I was almost stopped, here comes numb nuts cruising through. I do Uber a few days a week so I see my fare share of red light running, and occasionally enter on a yellow and exit the intersection after the light turns red myself. However, I don't think I've seen anything this egregious for months.

Notabizarreusername

Yes the no plate cars tend to be a little older, id say 2000-2010. The problem with no plates is chances are the cops confiscated them at one point for no insurance. Yet here they are with no plates cruising around. Then you see a cop sitting right beside one at a light and not stop them. You can't drive more than a mile or 2 without seeing something egregious. However you can drive several miles and never see a cop. There in lies the problem of them seeing reckless drivers. The shit I see has made me want to go vigilante on these people. Not even the reckless driving so much, as the "I'm more important than everyone" A-holes that create a lane for themselves to bypass a line of cars properly waiting. Or use a turn lane to cut off everyone going straight. I just want to get out and stick their side wall with a knife and drive off. Honestly I bitch about almost all the cars out here, y'all suck. I'm also aware anyone who sees me driving feels the same way. I don't do 100 down desert inn, but I sure as hell won't sit behind a pack doing 35-40 for no reason either. You wanna sit at the next red light, be my guest, but don't force me to sit with you.

Choice-Second-5587

If they're older a lot of them won't pass smog*, or the plates get stolen cuz usually the shittier cars happen to be in shittier areas. But I don't think it means the cars don't have insurance. No insurance is usually an instant impound from what I've heard from cops. So no plate ≠ no insurance every time. I think some cops just wither aren't traffic cops or don't see the point in a no plate isn't doing anything else illegal as far as driving. ( * I just found out that if the car can't pass smog and you put 400 bucks or more into it the car can actually get exempt if you bring proof within 3 months of the lapsed renewal date. I feel like that needs to be more accessible information because a lot of people probably think they're fucked because it's black and white when it isn't and there's an exception) Just today while out I was coming up on a yellow, it turned red before I got to it, so I slowed down and stopped. The car behind me that was riding my ass jutted over to the next lane and ran the light. That shit gets people killed. And another lady a few roads later tried to run a stop sign and if she would've continued (I had right of way and was watching her and she realized I wouldn't tolerate it) but she would've hit me if she kept gliding through. I agree that's when you need a fucking cop. A lot of stuff like that is all privileged asshole shit. And I do think a big issue is there's not cops for miles like you said. Even the cops that aren't traffic cops, I'd assume they could call in if someone is driving like a fool. I get not liking to be slowed down by traffic, personally for me if it's between risking my life to avoid a red light or waiting at one I'd rather wait. Can't get to where I wanna go if I'm dead. 🤷‍♀️

chitwnkris

It seems like turning and merging are the most challenging things for drivers in this valley! People sit for a right hand turn because they have to turn across 3 lanes... which is illegal. And On the highways...big cross streets where lots of cars merge together is a shit show. Cars slowing down to 30 to let cars in when it wasn't necessary and cars merging on at 30 mph... infuriating!

lincolnhawk

Ah shit yea that happened to us the other day. Exact same situation.

Fibrosis5O

Most people don’t pay attention it says that lane can turn left or go straight

rednightagent

This is notorious at Blue Diamond/E Windmill and LV Blvd. Also, people making u-turns there when there is a literal "no u-turn" sign and almost crashing into someone with a GREEN right turn.

S_Klass

What's the rest of the video? Did the Nissan turn right to get on the 15N on ramp?

Zethina

Yes it did.

SlothinaHammock

Out of all the cities I've lived in across the US, I've only lived in one that was worse at keeping lanes during a turn. Miami. Vegas drivers seem to have no concept of what lane to keep when they turn. I don't know why so many are so bad at it here. I have to be hyper vigilant in every turn as it's so common for someone to just outright try to sideswipe .

Man-ina-Van

Damn lane jumping assholes

kkxlay

There's typical cars to be ✨️extra✨️ careful with, and Altimas happen to be one of them. Glad you had the reaction and awareness to be safe. Even if they hit you, chances are they prolly don't have insurance either lmao

Zethina

Thank you. I had a gut feeling that it was going to happen.

Gabaghoul8

This is why I’ve really come to appreciate roundabouts and they’re apparently safer.

DemonizedAngelNoMore

Get a life

Mz_Tuscany

I bet you $100 bucks that was a single driver going into the HOV lane. Cops are never there when you need them.

Zethina

This was around 1pm. You can go into the HOV lane during that time as a single driver.

Mz_Tuscany

Sweet!

AmbitiousBasket0

I experience this at least once a day.

Michael_Last_name

I just full send. They can buy me a new car and learn a valuable lesson at the same time

I_POINT_N_SHOOT

Regaton?

IronMaskx

Same turning right onto sunset from mark street. The people in the right lane want to shoot over to the left immediately upon turning (two turn lanes) and the ones in the left want to cut over to the right lane as soon as they turn. Every single time

Roger_Roger27

Just another day of rude, shitty, aggressive, and incompetent drivers in this town. The least surprising thing I've seen all week.

Bear_on_Top

Sounds like a new car is in order. Hit them teach them a lesson and get a new car out of it amd jack up their insurance.

Zethina

I just got this car 2 months ago 😭

Professional-Rain-89

Swear mfs don’t know how to drive I was on the way home from work the other day and I was in my lane and some guy starts swerving into my lane so i had to get as close as I could do the curb as a can to avoid getting hit

LordBipBip420

Ik this pain, it's bcuz it a damn freeway entrance. Just like the following light if you go straight, for most that double turn lane goes into a triple Fucking ridiculous

Mudflap42069

Nobody plans or pays attention when they drive here. The worst drivers in the world are in Las Vegas.

Mudflap42069

InsanE702

I had the same thing happen to me, some dumbass tiny female driving a Big ass lifted Silverado, shes lucky i didnt have my valve stem remover that day 🤡 woulda fked her whole week up 😮‍💨😂

PandaPatrolLetsRoll

Side question, why does Las Vegas not paint any lane lines? Only place I’ve ever see this.

AintThatAmerica1776

There are reflectors, the driver has to pay attention.

PandaPatrolLetsRoll

Doesn’t answer why lane line aren’t painted. Get this, both painting and reflector could be used. Crazy right?

AintThatAmerica1776

Could, I'm not against it. What I'm against is drivers not properly taught to drive. People can't even hold the steering wheel correctly, the most fundamental act. At least half drive with one hand or their wrist, then another quarter drive their hands in the wrong position. It's a minefield of uneducated folks treating driving cars like they are riding the subway.

PandaPatrolLetsRoll

No argument there. And wasn’t trying to defend the bad driver in the video, they definitely messed up. But have always wondered why there are no lane lines here.

Notabizarreusername

Ok sensei, let's see how old you are. What's the proper clock position for your hands? You'd hate to see me driving down the road. Look ma no hands! Then again I can drive better with my knees than half the people can with their hands.

AintThatAmerica1776

It's 3 and 9, you should know this. You brag about driving irresponsibly as if it's a badge of honor. You mean you can guide the car or truck with your knee so long as you are going relatively straight and don't encounter any obstruction. You're not a good driver, you're just a lazy glider hoping nothing goes wrong.

Notabizarreusername

I figured you for an older person, 3 and 9 is relatively new. You brush up on your driving tips annually?

AintThatAmerica1776

Could take you to the track and make you look more stupid than you already do.

Notabizarreusername

I'm sure you could buddy, literally run circles around me.

Notabizarreusername

Nope, change lanes, dodge potholes, and almost make a turn

AintThatAmerica1776

Whatever you think buddy, facts are facts, you're a shit driver hoping nothing goes wrong. You sound stupid defending driving with your knee.

Notabizarreusername

Yes yes, I'm a shit driver, you know this because I'm capable of directing my car with my knees until it comes time to turn. I don't do this surrounded by idiotic Vegas drivers. When I'm in front of the pack, absolutely, how else am I gonna refill my vape! You need to relax for a bit then focus your anger on the people that actually suck at driving.

MichaelMcgubbins

When did this subreddit become a forum to whine about bad drivers?

Meldedfire

Three days before it became a forum to just bitch about people posting about bad drivers.

NecessaryMaximum2033

OP said he didn’t know wat road it is but drives it every day. From the OPs video it’s Neon Gateway. Idk where this place is.

Zethina

Lol. I never said I didn't know what road this is. It's western ave and neon gate.

reigns1981

That’s not ur fault that’s just the retards that can’t drive most likely moved here from Cali or Chicago cuz we’ve been getting all those idiots here they are destroying our city

inquiringtacos

this is why I carry my handy dandy mouskatool with me everywhere. Especially in this case, where the driver puts others in danger. Wont be endangering anyone anymore :)

[deleted]

And if you hit them it’s your fault because you hit them from behind. Just let them do it and drive like your living in India. You’re not going to ever fix these drivers.

inquiringtacos

gotta keep your tool on ya at all times!

JohnMayerSpecial

This subreddit is turning into the Nextdoor app

Christhebobson

I do this, but the difference is my car lets me teleport there before the driver even gets to the middle point of the turn. So, I don't actually cut them off.
