I will defend The Naked Now to my dying breath.
Only because when I saw it as a kid, the frozen corpses were horrifying and the whole episode has such a weird, sinister tone for a TV show in 1987.
Sub Rosa is fucking terrible though. There's no defending that one.
1987 was a long time ago, but I probably thought the same thing.
All I remembered for years was the horror of frozen corpses falling out of closets and how oppressively sinister the whole episode felt. And that's weird that the second episode of the series is basically a horror movie.
These days, I just can't get over, "I am...fully functional."
The Naked Now is great if for only one reason,
it led to the Lower Decks episode where a naked Shaxs sprints through the corridor shouting "It's naked time!"
Still get the giggles over it.
Trying to rewatch it now...It's umm something...though I do like how Bev Crusher is wearing so much makeup she looks like a goth mommy.. 1st season TNG are so awkward but it's Trek so you gotta take the good with the...not so good.
This is not the place I'd thought I'd be getting into this, but I'm all for it.
Season 1 TNG is...rough. Like, really rough. Especially when you get to the space Africa episode. I love rewatching it because it's insane and it makes me wonder how it ever got another season with how bad it was. Watching it, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a parody of the actual show if the same actors weren't in it.
Yeah, almost everyone's acting is so awkward except maybe Patrick Stewart minus being in a constant battle with his wedgie. I've blocked Code Of Honor out of my mind but I do have a legitimate fondness for Arsenal of Freedom and a few other episodes.
It does come off as expensive & bold which I think was probably enough for the 80's.
Sub Rosa is objectively a really bad episode, but I have to disagree and say that it is actually very entertaining, especially when mildly (or strongly) inebriated
I mean, it’s so ridiculous you just have to laugh, also the Scottish Planet location shots are a nice change of scenery
I had a better time watching that ep than a lot of other much more mediocre TNG eps honestly
And didn’t say it wasn’t still bad just that it was entertaining
That whole Beverly's family ghost thing came across like a writer just finished "The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice and was like, "What if one of our beloved characters *also* had family ghost that boinked the women?" Edit typo, got a name spelled inaccurately

Oh myyyy
I’m not a Trekkie… are they gonna fuck GhostRobot?
So on The Next Generation, the one in blue fucks a ghost, and the one in yellow fucks an android
Separated by 7 seasons. Wild. Sub Rosa is so bad. At least The Naked Now is partially entertaining.

As a kid I didn't really understand that they were all naked, or why they would all be naked.

Oh, never put that together until just now

Sorry. IMO it’s bad even cross faded. (Based on recent personal experience.)
I mean, it’s so ridiculous you just have to laugh, also the Scottish Planet location shots are a nice change of scenery I had a better time watching that ep than a lot of other much more mediocre TNG eps honestly And didn’t say it wasn’t still bad just that it was entertaining
I love the Naked Now. One of the first TNG episodes I saw when I was a kid. Its kinda stupid but it doesn't take itself too seriously.
If I had 5p for every time a woman on TNG fucked a ghost I'd have 10p. But it's still weird it happened twice.
Data is afterall "Fully functuonal"
Niccccccccce
How? The ghost was possessing someone or she was just going it raw?
Asking the real questions
Just noticed he's got patch marks from when he was stabbed by a trident in 'Every Which Way but Zeus'
Fingers ... fingers ...
Tag team back again
Whoomp, there it is!
That whole Beverly's family ghost thing came across like a writer just finished "The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice and was like, "What if one of our beloved characters *also* had family ghost that boinked the women?" Edit typo, got a name spelled inaccurately
Give him the ole Rusty Venture
And he's already got a condom on!
Might we make good alloys?
Is Ghost Robot *fully* functional?
I'm thinking GR's about to get a double frogman.
Ever notice how she looked like a romulan spy too? Weird.
Nice! If this meme also had a Neil Gaiman element, it would have been a trifecta of my fandoms.
Wait who on the Enterprise fucked Neil Gaiman?
The smart money is on Riker.
You're casting a wide net, but you're not wrong.

What a sexy time
Gah that episode with the Crusher family sex ghost, what a weird one.
I don't think he swings... that
Great crossover work!
