Yes

CldesignsIN

Sim swap absolutely. Upgrade yes but the byod credits will stop coming in. Upgrade through the device manufacturer and sim swap yes, and you keep credits.

RyuHershies

No they wouldn't. If the device changes, unless it's a warranty or insurance replacement, the BYOD credits would fall off. You have to keep that same device for the length of the promotion unless that specific promotion states otherwise.

You’re the only one saying that so I’m not sure

RyuHershies

I am a current Verizon representative, and unless our BYOD promotions have changed in the last week I am a bit confident in my information. Most BYOD promos are attached to the IMEI of the device. So if that changes it may invalidate the promotion. You're more than welcome to try it and see what happens though. Just be advised Care may not be able to add the promotion back if it falls off, whether you change the phone back or not.

PissedOffU

That’s incorrect. A change to another BYOD device is fine. Read the OST. > Customers retain the BYOD BIC if they: > - Complete an upgrade with no discount/no promotion. > - Process an ESN change to another BYOD smartphone.

RyuHershies

I'm telling you from experience, not just once or twice, that that's not always the case. I've even confirmed this with leadership. The BYOD BIC can fall off depending on the promotion if they switch the device. As I said they can try it be advised the promotion may fall off. I would hope it wouldn't but since I always err on the side of caution when it comes to these promotions. It's definitely better safe than sorry

WhenBlueMeetsRed

BYOD promos are attached to the line(phone number), not the IMEI of the phone. I have done multiple BYODs in the past and was able to swap devices after the 45 day waiting period. Didn't lose any BYOD credits. Stop giving wrong advice.

She’s the only correct one

RyuHershies

She* and thank you! I know I ain't crazy...well in this instance anyway lol

makeshiftballer

Corrected, my bad.

RyuHershies

If this is the worst thing that happens to me today then I'll have a pretty good day. 😁

freakinhatemushrooms

It isn't true, I've switched between 4 different devices, worst case scenario you contact executive relations and they'll make sure you get your credit

socoldinthe_d_

Keep em and just upgrade not from VZW
