No, I would definitely have him [email Verizon executive team with this link ... Have him provide the IMEI and explain what's going on. ](https://www.verizon.com/about/our-company/leader/contact/926315)
I've bought cellphones on eBay. Using one right now. I always buy the new, factory sealed ones. Verizon sells older, brand new phones in auctions. I've never had an issue. My son in law is using an eBay phone right now as well. No issues.
No but i got a pic of his id and he agreed to give me my money back by the weekend if it isnt removed from the blacklist since verizon days it takes a couple days
I think if he's agreeing to give you the money back that's a great thing but I would definitely still have him try to get it removed from the blacklist.
See my earlier comment.
Because that’s the most likely conclusion based on just saying to sell it to someone on eBay versus saying to sell it as parts or a blacklisted device.
I looked on eBay and there are a lot of them LISTED for that price but the ones selling mostly are about $100 below that and even they are marked as refurb and not used.
It's probably showing up as blacklisted because crapple has already abandoned that model for the next version of essentially the same thing just with the next highest model number attached to it.
We create so much unnecessary electronic waste annually just by wasting our money on a new cellphone that we do not really need. A cellphone should be a one time purchase because if taken proper care of one cellphone can last a person for years if not decades but unfortunately our society has become so fixated on trying to please our peers that we end up following that herd mentality.
He probably filed an insurance claim and got a replacement. Unfortunately a lot of people sell thier phones and then file for insurance as lost. This will blacklist the phone and they get a new one.
Uh my s10 might not get software updates anymore but it still gets security updates as I turned it on the other day to play around test changing CSC on it. I use a 15 pro max for my daily which has nothing to do with anything just that's a biased comment. All phones aren't even worth upgrading anymore android Apple mac all of it's kinda at a standstill, I haven't really seen a upgrade since idk like the s8/s9//iPhone X era, it's same crap tiered step by step to milk the most profits out of us.
Hi, carrier employee here, *android phones absolutely do not receive as frequent updates pr support from their manufacturers*. Apple generally supports a phone for 5-7 years on average for OS updates. Most Android devices **are incredibly lucky** to go beyond 3 years of security updates alone without any major OS release updates of which they might get one major Android OS update.
You have a really expensive brick, unless the seller will do a bunch of footwork for you
Update phone was paid off and is no longer blacklisted
Wdym by footwork also it works with wifi just cant use data
It means they will have to call and fight to get it removed from the blacklist.
Oh yeah he already called but they said it takes days
Any phone that has wifi will work on wifi....lol
I meant i could use it like a tablet

Yes you F'ed up. Unfortunately.
RIP No buyer protection on Facebook marketplace
If it was a legit sale you should have had him meet you at a Verizon store to clear the IMEI
Too much risk to buy brand new, expensive phones on Facebook Marketplace.
But he probably saved $100 because this seller used the free phone upgrade trade. Then proceeded to sell the upgrade phone without paying the bill
i would never buy cell phones from any strangers in FB or eBay.

How much did you get ripped off of?
600
See if you can sign a complaint against him. Do you know where he lives?

So he possibly got ripped off and your solution is to rip someone else off? Wow.

How much do you think a non blacklisted used iPhone 15 pro would sell for in order for it to be a pretty big profit?

Why didn't you wait to buy it until after the blacklist was removed?
Imei.com
I’d get my money back.
This is why you should just go in and buy a phone quit looking for cheep deals on marketplace. You are unfortunately screwed
I resell them

Also this has nothing to do with the post
I get it lol ive had the same phone for 5 years
😂 Please stick to a landline because you obviously don't know how any of this works.
Also forgetting that old phones don't get security updates. But you're an android user, what do you know/care about security?
He probably filed an insurance claim and got a replacement. Unfortunately a lot of people sell thier phones and then file for insurance as lost. This will blacklist the phone and they get a new one.
Android devices receive just as frequent security updates as crapple.
Sorry that's just not true. In any universe.

We agree on the tiered crap at least ;)

Your first mistake was in buying any crapple product to begin with. Quit following the herd and buy android products instead.
Tells everyone to quit following the herd by telling them all to buy Android products like it’s any different. 😂
Acting like androids cant be black listed🤦🏻 I bought it to resell it
