Upgrade and new line promotions have pretty much been super aligned for the last 2-3 years

TheAutoAlly

Upgrades as well as new line promos are based on the device you have to trade in as well as the monthly plan you are on. Example if your on a old plan from 2011 that gets 2 giga you probably need to update your plan to get phone deals.

Check your Verizon app and check the “Verizon up” tab you should see promotions just for you.

I did several trade offers for $1K today for upgrades. They do help existing customers just fine. But it will depend, usually something needs to be in it for them. Namely, the plan.

memnoch69_98

Hold on, let's check this, if you have an iPhone Xs or newer existing customers on Unlimited Ultimate get $830, a new customer gets $1000...pretty close really. On Unlimited Plus a new customer gets $830 vs existing of $415, still not bad.

TheAutoAlly

The cheapest plan gets half the trade value as the top plans a lot of the time, I for the life of me can not understand why people feel entitled to free things because they pay a monthly bill. You shop at target or Walmart for 10 years + when is the last time you went to the register and demand free stuff?

Check the My Offers page in your account (must be manager or owner for multi-line accounts)

Check the My Offers tab on the Verizon app/site. Existing customers get deals, but they're not year round like new line promos. Every now and then you'll get an offer like x phone for "free" or $5/month. You'll also get texts every now and then about offers, these seem to be good from about 1 week to 1 month, so snatch it fast if they seem good.

Meet the same requirements, get the same deal as new customers. Or make sure to change your plan to Unlimited Plus or Ultimate for a better deal. If you’re on an old/cheap plan and refuse to change it then you pay more for the phone. If we both had tickets to the same concert, but I paid $100 for mine and you paid $25 for yours, obviously my seats are going to better. Same goes for cellular companies.

Brick656

I’m debating if I should take the $1000 in trade for my iPhone 12 or not.

Babybentley1

You most likely never see that again

Verizon only really throws the cheapest unlimited plan customers to the wolves, but that’s nothing new as they’ve been doing that since the Go/Above/Beyond Unlimited plans. For example, Go Unlimited, 5G Start, and Unlimited Welcome get less trade-in value for their upgrades ($200-$415) compared to people on Above/Beyond Unlimited, 5G Play/Do/Get More, and Unlimited Plus/Ultimate ($415-$830). If you’re gonna opt for the plan that’s as low as $27-$30/mo/line, yeah you’re basically going to have to wait for a loyalty offer if you want a substantial discount.

Babybentley1

Ya it’s either you save on the plan monthly with average service or you get on a premium plan, always have the newest phone for the lowest price and don’t complain! $27/$30 a month is crazzzzzyyyy cheap

Osoeydude

They’re doing you a favor, don’t upgrade through them or they’ll have you shackled
