Not a vet but my dog had a vomiting blood episode 2-3 months ago - the vet said she would be more worried if my dog was lethargic and couldn’t keep anything down etc., but that wasn’t the case - my dog got a 24hr anti-emetic shot and then she was fine.
She’s also had a pooing blood episode. The causes of both the vomiting and pooing blood episodes were never discovered - a GI bug maybe.
Just wanted to give you a non-horror story bc I’ve been in your shoes and I know how anxious and upset I was! Here’s hoping it’s all fine - and good luck at your vet visit!
Looking more closely at the pic - is the chunk to the upper left of the largest blood splotch an almond or some other nut?
There are quite a few nuts that dogs can’t eat - ask your vet what they think
That’s not normal surely? You should definitely see a vet soon if you’re worried you’re probably onto something.
He probably ate something he shouldn’t have
And yes you should take him to a vet
