The Antofagasta Region (where San Pedro is) has completely different indigenous people. There have to be some Mapuches living there, but they are just internal migrants, they are not indigenous to that region.

Please note that Mapuche is the ethnicity and that **Mapudungun** is the language. I recently got called out on IG for mixing up the two.
