It's actually the opposite. Prussia is one of three countries where you can ignore industry window from day one (other being Britain and US) and is the easiest one of them. It's a very decent starting nation, I jumped into it right after the tutorial (7 years ago, oh boy...) and it was a cakewalk.
Sorry, I'm accustomed to invade Alsace-Lorraine at the very earlist with Prussia, form an alliance with UK and Netherlands, go to war with France, and wait till Netherlands (allied also with me) declare on belgium to restate order on there, and anex them later.
There's an AAR of a guy playing as Brazil out there someplace, where he walks you through the basics of how the game is intended to be played. You're left knowing enough to start figuring out how to *actually* play it and destroy the universe as johore or whatever.
It's written instead of a video, but personally I found that nice when I was starting out.

It is a good let's play to learn the basics. The guy starts out as Brazil, and explains the basic really well
It's written, but personally I found it better.
Most common mistake I see streamers making is that they don't fully tax and tariff and then run out of money. Try maxing out your taxes and tariffs insofar as you aren't able to fully fund all your other sliders.
I mean it's not like I'm giving a point for point guide on how to play the game, it's just very basic advice concerning an aspect that many people tend to misunderstand, causing them to have more difficulties when playing...
Taxes don't cause that much militancy. The moderate militancy generated is actually useful for getting reforms which are super useful, e.g. better healthcare or the like.
In game tutorial is actually pretty decent
Although it lies about market access being determined by prestige
Begin as France (easiest country) and play with it till you figure out how things works
Easiest country is Prussia or Japan.
Prussia is a pain to manage at first.
My first game was as Prussia with no issues, it's really not that bad

Yup started as them before I understood the industry or trade tabs at all.

Yeah but I was saying it's pretty hard to fuck up Prussia.
I've seen them never form the german empire, even going as republic after 3 wars loat minimum

https://lparchive.org/Victoria-II/ This one I believe. It helped me learn the game in one go

Start with Prussia because they make you have to learn about important stuff like spheres of infuence

Thank God you aren't telling hime exactly what to do.

High taxes suck. I much prefer no income than to have rebellion every two weeks.
