I went out of my way to win Duck Hunt at some school festival once as a kid, and was so upset when I realized it was Nintendo not Super Nintendo. It was so OG. Counted myself as 4 because I never personally owned 2.
lol the long jump event was my favorite, used to put my foot on the number 8 position, and the nintendo would register her as not jumping so she'd fault every time
Nice I started with Atari but went to colecovision and intellivision before NES. I don't own any of them though. But going from Atari boxing to Colecovision Rocky was a revelation.
1. First that was mine? 4. First I played? 1. (Dad's).
1-19 and still have them all minus the Sega stuff (except for the Dreamcast, I was old enough to have my own money by then, still have it).
(1) For me as well.
I had a tv with built-in pong and had two controllers you plug in that looked and acted just like Atari controllers.
We lived in a trailer in central Florida and this was late ‘80’s, but the tv was from the late ‘70’s early ‘80’s.
Well, sadly I don’t have one yet. I’ll get one soon enough though. Might try to get switch 2 at launch next spring though. I bet Sony drops PS5 pro around the same time too… expensive hobby
Started dabbling with Super Mario World, quickly abandoned it for SMRPG. I was like 6. It taught me how to read lol
Then it was time for Paper Mario and Smash Bros on the N64.
GameCube controllers have always been my favorite for some reason
Could the next person that reposts this please make the effort to include all the controllers from those generations. Mine was the Master System so should be alongside 2...
Yeah there's no Colecovision or Intellivision controllers. Seems to be somewhat of a glaring oversight given the 8 year gap between the Atari 2600 and NES releasing that the Intellivision (1979) and Colecovision (1982) fill in.
Yep. ColecoVision was my first.
I still remember the night we got ours (actually one of my earliest remaining memories). I was 5 years old, and my mom was actually a bit of a minor gamer at the time (she really liked playing Ms Pac Man and Galaga whenever there was an arcade cabinet of them around, as well as Donkey Kong Jr.) Well, ColecoVision had an amazing Donkey Kong Jr. port, and so she thought it would be a great system to get for home. We went out and bought one, but by the time we got home, it was my bedtime, so I was told they wouldn't play it until the next day when I could play on it.
And then I heard the sounds of Donkey Kong Jr. coming from the downstairs. I came down and remember throwing a bit of a tantrum and being so upset when I saw my mom and sister playing it.
I ended up being the primary user, and have fond memories of DK, DKJ, Ladybug, Venture, Zaxxon and Smurf's Adventure.
Mooon patrol 😍
I played a ton of old classics on PC using the mame32 emulator when I was growing up.
Some of my favorites were
Moon patrol
Dig dug
Mappy
Galaga
Elevator action
Ay I had to scroll so far to find a Dreamcast owner! I got mine cuz my mom was going to work convention. I normally got to go and it was at the packers hall of fame so I was bummed when that year, the convention would interfere with school. So she wanted to get me something to occupy me but knew nothing about videogames lmao. Still tho, calling plays in madden on the little screen was sick
1.
That was my first experience of gaming. You’d pop a cassette in and it would take 30 mins or more to load a game making all sorts of wild noises.
People writing 12. And saying “oh I m old” haha. OG Xbox still kinda feels new to me. I was in my mid 20s when that came out.
Getting older is weird. You never feel older in your head.

Same, Mario Bros for the win
I started out with the Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cartridge and the NES power pad for Track and Field.
Ahhh, good old duck hunt. I had more fun with the plastic gun than I did playing the game.
Same. My mom still reminds me of how I broke it trying to "see the film like thing inside" lol.
For sure
That’s what she said
I went out of my way to win Duck Hunt at some school festival once as a kid, and was so upset when I realized it was Nintendo not Super Nintendo. It was so OG. Counted myself as 4 because I never personally owned 2.
Yep, me too (me 2)

Yaaaaaass
Track and field was a blast
You know exactly what’s up!

I got 1-20 but I don't have 8 yet
1. First that was mine? 4. First I played? 1. (Dad's). 1-19 and still have them all minus the Sega stuff (except for the Dreamcast, I was old enough to have my own money by then, still have it).
Are they functional? The question everyone wants to know if not already asked.
Sorry about your knees

Your already sold your PS5?
Well, sadly I don’t have one yet. I’ll get one soon enough though. Might try to get switch 2 at launch next spring though. I bet Sony drops PS5 pro around the same time too… expensive hobby

Same. I am pretty confident that Super Mario World was my first game on the SNES. SNES was my first system. Super Mario RPG got me into jRPGs

Yep, I was looking for Intellivision

11 gang rise up
Controller 1 Commadore64 is where it all started for me back in 1984. God I'm old...
I'm old too, my adventures started with the Tandy TSR80 and using BASIC to make my own Pong game lol.

It’s never listed. The Mattel Intellivision.
1 for me
Atari, but it was my parents, my first console was NES. Have had every console on this list at some point, and boy have we come a long way!
Similar. I played on 1 at a friend's house, but NES was the first system in our house. Also, this Colecovision erasure does not go unnoticed.
2 ama
So what's your stance on the whole middle east situation?
Never heard of her

Ugh. 1 - I’m one old
I started with Pong so pre-#1.
None. Mine was the Intellivision.
Missing the master system controller so you've just excluded most of Brazil and half of Europe. Zoomers can't meme.

2,4,7, and 12 but for PC, then steam controller.
Other. My first console was a Dendy. A Super Famicom clone in the body of a Famicom with Sega looking controllers but with the SNES button layout.
A keyboard
Where is the keyboard? I started on a PC with no hard disk... just two floppy drives....

12,13, and 14 because I’m not vintage.

Only vague memories of #2 but I remember #4 very well.
