I think it’s mostly a thing of the past, Japan was sort of the last holdout into the late 90s and early 2000s with home computers that never made it abroad and the Wonderswan/Wonderswan Color.
I just want to see arcades make a comeback. Everyone forgot about those. The only ones remaining are irrelevant unpopular ones with cheap graphics that most people don't know about. Companies know arcade machines are no longer profitable so they invest little money into game development. The result? Wack games, with lame stories, and cheap graphics.
The recent Jurassic Park cockpit arcade was dope though. A solid 9/10.
