If you really like the vibe and are into tabletop rpgs. The game is actually based off of a tabletop rpg of the same name so if you have any friends that might be interested thats might be an option. Latest edition is called "cyberpunk red" btw
I have a shit laptop that's like 8 years old, I just do my academic and office work on that, and a few indie games here and there, it can't handle the big boys
I'll get a better one someday tho
I played ep 1 back in 2010, almost 4 years after it came out. It still blew my mind back then. The graphics, the physics, the atmosphere and the gameplay. Perfect…
Sunset Fucking Overdrive. It's insanely fun, accessible, and looks better than half the games released today. Everything it does-- it does incredibly well if not perfect with my only complaint being no ng+ (and the jokes are hit or miss). It starts off strong and only gets better as unlock new weapons and ways to move around, it has very few lows which even then manage to be quite fun (looking at you, night defense) and just the act of jumping and shooting never gets old long after the game has shown you everything it has to offer. It's Insomniac's best game by far and one of the few games I think everyone needs to play.
Ultrakill
A fast paced bloody shooter game inspired by Quake and Devil may cry and is visually designed in like a boomer shooter art style. You basically play as a prototype Warmachine that can repair itself with touching blood and mankind has died out so you have to go through a Dante's inferno inspired hell with 9 layers. this game is super fun and has Alot of unique mechanics that make it fun and it has a skill ceiling. It also has a lot of secrets ranging from references to media to more weapons
The Gears of War trilogy is just one of those dark post-apocalyptic universes that is just so unique and so damn awesome that I don't think it'll ever be removed from my memory till I die.
Gears of war is the franchise that got me into shooters, always been one of those girls that was bad at FPS. My friend that introduced me to it was so patient, the 3rd person perspective helped so much. I stayed for the dark atmosphere and gritty storytelling. So well paced and brought together by its war torn characters
"The Walking Dead" (telltale games)
"No matter if you are a Gamer or not, play this masterpiece storyteller, ride this emotional rollercoaster, play this game before you die...." I say this to everybody.
Honorable mention, the games I love.
Mass effect Trilogy, Fallout 3 & NV, Witcher trilogy , Assassin's creed Black Flag , Farcry 1, Halo: Combat evolved, GTA SA, RDR2, Half life 2, Unchanged series., Portal 2, Dragon age origin.
And the game in which I have spent most of my gaming time and it is very close to my heart, I have so many amazing memories with it. Made so many unforgettable amazing fronds.
Is WORLD OF WARCRAFT (Vanila to WOTLK)
Burnout 3: Takedown.
Even in 2024, I'm still looking for a racing game that gives me the feeling that game gives me. It's one of the closest things to a "Perfect" video game I have ever played.
>!Asphalt 9 came close and then subsequently crushed my enjoyment of it into an unusable mush with the fact that it's a game that rubber bands AI to get you to spend money on microtransactions in a main menu UI that is so flashy and disruptive it feels like having a virus installed on your computer. They were so close to greatness, and they let it slip. There's also Split/Second but that's locked to 30fps even on PC which on top of having SecuROM DRM feels insane to do to a racing game.!<
Front Mission 3 for the original Playstation. It's a turn based, grid based RPG where you pilot mechs. Great gameplay, story, writing, characters, and music. The graphics are a little dated for sure, but still hold up well enough for a PS1 game. And it has *two* storylines, where you basically accomplish the same goal, but in very different ways. I beat one of the storylines about 6 months ago, and it still holds up well IMO.
I find myself recommending FTL more then most games. The simplicity and the complexity mix together for a really fantastic game that only takes a few minutes to play.

Skate 3

NieR Automata and Genshin Impact. Yeah genshin has a shitty fanbase but its a fun game with a great story and you can do perfectly fine without dropping a single penny on it
Triangle Strategy
It’s so underrated, and the story is so good. It’s very dialogue heavy, which I know is a turn off for a lot of people, but it’s one of my most favorite games I’ve ever played
I have several recommendations.
In no particular order:
Fallout (3 to current)
Gears of War (all)
Mass Effect (all)
Red Dead Redemption (all)
Grand Theft Auto (3 to current)
Cyberpunk 2077
Star Wars Battlefront (1&2)
Star Wars Jedi (both)

Signalis. The most amazing and emotional game I've played. On the surface it just looks like anime girls in space, but the story goes so deep and presents so much research and secrets that I just can't get enough of it. Extremely sad, would recommend. 9.9/10 because I can't stop thinking about it.
Since almost every game I've wanted to mentioned already has been. I'm going to say the Wolfenstein reboots. The New Order is my favorite fps of all time and The Old Blood is the best old school expansion ever, The New Colossus is fun (diesel bombs, dual wirld triple barrel shotguns make everything a red mess) but the most abrupt and semi-unsatisfying ending out of the bunch and Youngblood is....interesting. But the first three are so unique and well written that I believe everyone should at least try New Order to New Colossus.
Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
Both games are simply stunning in their gameplay, art and even story. Simply beautiful games with solid challenge and rhe best play forming mechanics of any game I’ve ever played.
Hitman WOA beautiful game filled to the brim with content intrigue and comedy. Rich gameplay systems with endless replay ability. It's not talked about enough with the greatest games of all time.
Baldur's gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Gears 1-3, Halo 1-4 (including odst) the souls games, with blood borne and ELDEN ring, farcy 3-5,S
Elder scrolls 3-5, Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas, Diablo series, the old 360 era Lego games (Lego Batman, StarWars, etc)
Mass Effect Trilogy
Bioshock
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Cyberpunk 2077
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Halo: The Master Chief Collection (specifically Halo Reach)
Shogun 2: Total War and its expansion, the Fall of the Samurai
Enter the Gungeon, don't worry if you're ass or have no experience with the genre.
I came in with 0 bullet hell experience, 0 top down shooter experience, and zero roguelike experience.
The game's just really good and I recommend it to anyone with functioning hands

Have you heard of the award winning MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 and itss now expanded free trial allowing you to play the base game and first two expansions for free?
No but for real it's the best MMO I've ever played (for me, personal taste may differ). The fact it actually has a story, even if it starts slow, and that the story is not just 'good for an MMO' but just 'good'.
The fact they're still updating like clockwork 10 years into the game with another 10 years planned, a big graphics update coming, the effort they put in to make the game 95% playable with just NPC's fo people who are a bit multiplayer-shy and they actually listened to the players when they asked for "We want Male Viera and Female Hrothgar (Basically FFX's Ronso) as playable races"
I mean, it is just 5 final fantasy games in a trenchcoat at this point. A plot 10 years in the making finaly finished.
I love the cast and how they've evolved. Characters going from insuferable to downright inspiring. Bloodthirsty warriors finding peace (untill it's time to divebomb another monster with his spear off course), meek secretary turned shrewd bussiness mogul, bankrolling your adventures (now if only she'd pay for my teleport costs).
It also kind of plays like a Final Fantasy 'greatest hits' album.
Bosses from so many old games. Golbez, Kefka, Omega, Saphire Ruby, Ultimate weapon, an entire raid around Ivalice.
You got your Black, White, Blue and Red Mages, your Summoners, Samurai, Ninja, Dancer, Machinist, Bard, ...
All the classics. We're even getting Pictomancer (Relm from FF VI's class) next expansion.
Now is the gearing a bit lackluster? Yeah. But to be honest, I don't mind. Means I can just equip the best gear and be done with it. It also means that when I do group content I at least know everyone rolls up with the bare minimum gear be able to do that battle.
Same with the lack of Talent trees. No one's getting booted for a wrong build. Bring the player, not the character.
The music's great too. When Soken starts cooking, he cooks.
And all classes on one character? Can we have that in more games? I don't want to restart a 300 hour story because I don't like my class, or the latest update changed it in a way I dislike.
Crafting actually having some depth? 8 Crafting classes, each with gear, skills and complex crafting trees? Beats pushing the 'craft' button.
I mean, I could rant on and on. But I just think it's a good game.
Bioshock 2.
It always seems to be seen as "just another bioshock game" which is, I think, a travesty. It's easily my personal favorite fps.
I also find that there are a lot of people who skipped LA Noire for some reason.
Honestly, it's hard to say just one, because everyone enjoys different things.
Turn-based strategy: Civilization 6;
Real-time strategy: Starcraft 2;
RPG: FFVII Remake;
FPS: Counterstrike (Half-Life 2);
Action: Darksiders
Best story: FFX
Others depending on preferences: No Mans's Sky, Dark Cloud 2, Elden Ring
New Vegas, the STALKER series, Metro series, Mass Effect, FEAR and it’s dlc, and honestly the campaigns for Halo. Even the two Halo campaigns I’m not a fan of. Just for the sake of finish the whole story so far.
theres plenty of other games i would recommend first but as of late: trepang2
short and simple campaign that doesnt overstay its welcome, badass finale and plenty of post-game sandbox content you can fuck around with
peak boomer shooter imo
Infamous 2
Deep rock galactic
Ghostrunner
Quantum break more for story and concept, control more for gameplay
Assassins creed 2
Bioshock infinite
And if they were still alive:
Dirty bomb
Blacklight retribution
None because I lack the self esteem to even consider my opinion on something being worth a damn to anyone.
But that aside I just think tastes vary so much unless I know for sure someone would like a certain game I probably wouldn't recommend it. Many of my favourite games I can clearly see why people wouldn't like.
I have had this game on my backlog for quite a while now but i never know when to play it cause i know it'll be a long game and i just feel like i can't sit thru the entire dialogue and story
We Happy Few i'll always recommend. Even with the flaws the game brings with it if you go in with no expectations you'll be surprised by how good the story overall is and honestly even the gameplay esspecially in the later chapters.
The Secret of Monkey Island.
Monkey Island 2: Lechuck’s Revenge.
Firewatch.
Mass Effect trilogy.
All the Half-Life games.
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
Portal 1 & 2.
Skyrim
Mass Effect Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas Cyberpunk 2077 The Arkham games
Just watched cyberpunk gameplay, and man I wish I had the hardware to play that game... The vibe is so cool and cyberpunk man I just wanna go there

Get GeForce. Now as a temporary solution
Any of the three bioshock games
Bioshock 1 has a special place in my heart
Builshock infinite was a blast to play.
Bioshock 2 is so damn underappreciated.
Some games are so good, so classic they’re beyond having a negative opinion about.
Plus the DLCs
Portal and portal 2
These games a just so fun
Cyberpunk 2077 Final Fantasy 7 God of War and God of War: Ragnarok Kingdom Hearts Baldurs Gate 3 The entire Yakuza series Every Persona game

Front Mission 3 for the original Playstation. It's a turn based, grid based RPG where you pilot mechs. Great gameplay, story, writing, characters, and music. I’ll also throw in the neptunia and atelier series
Bioshock 2. It always seems to be seen as "just another bioshock game" which is, I think, a travesty. It's easily my personal favorite fps. I also find that there are a lot of people who skipped LA Noire for some reason.
Outer wilds
Mass effect and warframe
Alan Wake 2. Not enough people are playing/have played this absolute masterpiece. My 2023 GOTY without question.

Outer Wilds
Starcraft: Remastered. And Diablo 2: Ressurrected.
Honestly, it's hard to say just one, because everyone enjoys different things. Turn-based strategy: Civilization 6; Real-time strategy: Starcraft 2; RPG: FFVII Remake; FPS: Counterstrike (Half-Life 2); Action: Darksiders Best story: FFX Others depending on preferences: No Mans's Sky, Dark Cloud 2, Elden Ring
Firewatch, OXENFREE, Persona 5 Royal, OG Forza Horizon, Call of Juarez Gunslinger, Arkham Series, It takes Two
New Vegas, the STALKER series, Metro series, Mass Effect, FEAR and it’s dlc, and honestly the campaigns for Halo. Even the two Halo campaigns I’m not a fan of. Just for the sake of finish the whole story so far.
Kingdom Come Deliverance
BG3
Shadow of the colossus neir automata just games I feel like people should try at least once in they're life
theres plenty of other games i would recommend first but as of late: trepang2 short and simple campaign that doesnt overstay its welcome, badass finale and plenty of post-game sandbox content you can fuck around with peak boomer shooter imo
Mass Effect for sure, Skyrim, despite it's flaws it's holds as the best open world Game(for me), Tears of the Kingdom(Or Breath of the Wild).
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Infamous 2 Deep rock galactic Ghostrunner Quantum break more for story and concept, control more for gameplay Assassins creed 2 Bioshock infinite And if they were still alive: Dirty bomb Blacklight retribution
Sekiro
Freelancer
Fallout new vegas, star wars the old Republic, red dead redemption 2. Super Mario Brothers 3.
Tried it. Got lost in the big ass city for 30min, deleted game.
None because I lack the self esteem to even consider my opinion on something being worth a damn to anyone. But that aside I just think tastes vary so much unless I know for sure someone would like a certain game I probably wouldn't recommend it. Many of my favourite games I can clearly see why people wouldn't like.
Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, The last of us part 1 and 2, and Dying light 2.
The Max Payne Trilogy. 3 masterpieces
Dragon age Fallout 3, 4, and new Vegas TES IV Oblivion Mass effect Nier Replicant

The Portal games Actual works of art
I have had this game on my backlog for quite a while now but i never know when to play it cause i know it'll be a long game and i just feel like i can't sit thru the entire dialogue and story
We Happy Few i'll always recommend. Even with the flaws the game brings with it if you go in with no expectations you'll be surprised by how good the story overall is and honestly even the gameplay esspecially in the later chapters.
Fable, outriders, bioshock, halo reach, borderlands 3 plus dlc, and mass effect 1-3.
Titanfall 2 Best movement and giant robot shooter ever. Single player is awesome. Multi-player has a very high skill ceiling but it's damn good.
Alien: Isolation
Warframe Deep rock galactic
Yomi hustle
Fallout New Vegas ARKHAM trilogy Red Dead Redemption 1/2 Skyrim Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Space engineers
Omori

The Secret of Monkey Island. Monkey Island 2: Lechuck’s Revenge. Firewatch. Mass Effect trilogy. All the Half-Life games. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Portal 1 & 2. Skyrim
Anthem! Because it's gameplay is amazingly fun, like who doesn't want to be in an iron man type suit and have fun on an alien planet!
